All My Children Recaps
AMC Week Of June 23, 2008
Monday
Greenlee and Ryan went out for a sail. Out on the water, they discussed
their problems. Ryan admitted that the procedure he was considering could
kill him. Greenlee no longer wanted him to have the procedure. Ryan thought
maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. They headed back to shore.
Angie thanked Jesse for taking the position at PVU. Frankie brought Angie in
to see Randi, who was still unconscious. The police joined them saying that
Randi was beaten by her pimp. Frankie denied that she was a prostitute.
Jesse questioned the police, who told him that they found her with a ton of
cash and condoms, outside of a hotel where you could rent rooms by the hour.
When he questioned them further, they told him that he didn’t have a right
to get involved after turning down the chief position. Eventually, he was
able to get them to tell him the name of the pimp they suspected had beaten
Randi. A surgeon told Frankie that Randi needed surgery because of internal
bleeding.
With no guards in sight, Zach beat the crap out of Richie. Later, guards
brought him back to his cell, not acknowledging his injuries. Next up was
Aidan. Aidan told him that if he got out of there, he would make this
beating look like a walk in the park.
An editor from Self came to observe the Fusion women at work. The Fusion
women got annoyed when Kendall wanted to wait for Greenlee before making a
decision. Kendall was embarrassed and apologized to the editor, who she
escorted out. Amanda asked Annie how she was holding up — she knew how it
felt to be related to someone who did a lot of damage in Pine Valley. Annie
admitted how guilty she felt. Kendall asked Babe if they could call a truce,
but didn’t seem interested. Kendall suspected Babe was upset about more than
Fusion drama. Kendall called Greenlee and Annie called Ryan. Neither of them
answered their phones. Kendall approached Babe again. Babe told her she was
offended that Kendall would let her run the company when Greenlee wasn’t
around and Kendall’s kids were sick or when Zach was missing, but now all of
a sudden she needed Greenlee’s opinion to make a decision. Kendall suggested
she was more upset about the Richie situation than about Fusion. Babe
announced to all of Fusion that she hadn’t slept with Richie. Annie told
Kendall to cut Babe some slack. Annie pointed out that Babe was right about
Greenlee — she should be at work. She wasn’t the only one going through a hard
time. Kendall agreed and said she would talk to her. Kendall admitted she
was worried about Annie. Annie wondered why Kendall was on Greenlee’s side.
Had she forgetten that Greenlee kidnapped her son? That she stayed away
while the Fusion women were being murdered? Annie decided that Kendall was
behaving this way because she was relieved Greenlee was after Ryan, rather
than Zach. When she was back at her desk, Amanda told Annie that she thought
Ryan would be crazy not to see what he had inher. Babe admitted that
although she felt her concerns regarding Fusion were valid, Kendall was
right, she felt like a fool about Richie. She couldn’t believe she let him
be around little A and Emma, and that because she let him in, he almost
killed JR. Babe wondered how one ever figures out who to trust in life.
Later, Annie apologized to Kendall, and Kendall told her that everything
would work out with Ryan.
Zach angrily stormed into his office where he found Myrtle. He apologized,
and she told him she came to see him because she’d heard about Richie.
Myrtle advised him not to take matters into his own hands — his family
couldn’t afford to lose him again. He went home to play with his boys.
Angie seemed troubled as she watched her son sit with Randi after her
surgery.
Tuesday
Greenlee made Aidan a smoothie, and told him it was a peace offering. She wanted to make the friend thing work. Aidan flirted with her to prove that it would not work. Eventually, he agreed he would try. He touched her face, and Greenlee fantasized about getting physical. She quickly ran out.
Adam and Colby met JR at Chandler. There, Adam surprised Colby with a new car and keys to the lake house. Colby was thrilled and thanked him, but warned it didn't make up for what he did to Tad. She went on her way, and JR demanded to know what Adam was up to. He accused him of bribing Colby to get her vote. Adam told him they no longer needed him at Chandler. JR informed him that he had his own business plans, which Adam quickly pooh-poohed.
Jake joined Tad and Kathy for breakfast. Tad used Kathy to guilt Jake into staying in Pine Valley. He reminded Jake that if he hadn't been in PV he wouldn't be alive. Jake said he would stay in town for the time being. Dre and Cassandra arrived and got a table. Colby joined them shortly and told them about her new car and the keys to the lake house. No dummy, Colby suspected Adam had given her the gifts because when she turned 18 she would have Chandler shares. They all discussed their family issues. Colby suggested they all go up to her lake house for the Fourth of July. Dre and Cass loved the idea.
Jack visited Erica. They talked about their failed marriage before Carmen joined them. Then Jack informed them that Carmen couldn't get bail unless she had a job and a place to live, and the judge wasn't going to let her work for either Erica or Jack. Erica had an idea. She summoned Adam to the prison. Erica asked him to hire Carmen to do work around the house and let her live there. She warned him that if he did not do what she wanted, she would use NEW BEGINNINGS to make him look bad. With no other choice, Adam was forced to take Carmen in, though he told Erica he "loathed" her for it. A smiling Jack brought in Carmen's release papers. Carmen gratefully embraced a beaming Erica.
Babe brought JR breakfast. She confided in him about her frustrations regarding Fusion, and he told her about his suspicions that Adam was trying to buy Colby's vote. JR told her he wanted to take over Chandler, and she feared he would turn into Adam. He insisted he would not, and she told him she was proud of him. Together they headed to Richie's arraignment.
Greenlee rushed in to BJ's and asked Jake to touch her. When neither of them felt anything she was relieved; she could be friends with him. Jake talked about not knowing where he was going to stay, and Greenlee suggested he move in with her.
Wednesday
Ryan, Annie, Kendall, Zach, Babe and JR arrived at Richie's hearing. Annie was horrified when Richie walked in and she saw how he'd been beaten. Kendall wondered how someone managed to get to Richie in prison — and told Zach that she felt whoever did it (wink, wink) deserved a medal. Richie told the judge that he wanted to represent himself. Annie was informed that she was being called as a witness. On the stand, Richie questioned her and she was forced to admit she presented false information to get him convicted. Richie gave Annie a document and asked her to read it out loud. It said that thanks to DNA evidence, his previous conviction had been vacated. He told the judge that just like before, he was being set up. The judge granted him bail under the condition that he wears an ankle monitor at all times. Kendall and Ryan consoled Annie. As Richie left, Opal reminded him that the cards don't lie — death was at his door.
Randi woke up and Frankie told her she'd had surgery. Randi admitted that her boyfriend did sometimes hit her, but Frankie thought she was lying. Jesse wanted to look into the case, but Angie told him to stay out of it. As Randi started yelling at Frankie, Angie came in and asked to speak to him. She asked him to be careful, and remember that he is her doctor and nothing else. Back with Randi, Frankie didn't understand why she would let the guy get away with hurting her, and she told him it was because he loved her. Meanwhile, Jesse tracked down Randi's pimp. He pretended he wanted to be set up with her, and mentioned that he saw her at the hospital, talking to the cops.
Later at the hospital, Randi's pimp came in, pissed off at Randi. He began twisting her arm, and Frankie burst in with cops and stopped him. Angie quickly realized Jesse was behind the arrest.
Jake turned Greenlee's housing offer down. He reminded her that the last time they lived together, they nearly killed each other. She worked to change his mind, but it wasn't until they found out that Richie was out on bail that he agreed.
Thursday
Annie told Ryan she blamed herself for Richie being out on bail. She feared he would get away with everything, once again. Richie called her cell phone, and Annie pretended it was Emma. Richie told her she had better get over there and help him escape, or Ryan would find out the truth about his vasectomy. After getting off the phone, Annie told Ryan she needed to head to Fusion. Ryan insisted she stay home; he would go back out to get dinner and wine. As soon as he left, she grabbed her bag and left as well.
Carmen feared she wouldn't be able to do the job Adam expected of her. Erica assured her she would do great. Jack came to pick her up, but Carmen had a hard time leaving Erica behind. Erica insisted she had to go. The women tearfully said goodbye. Alone with Jack, Erica thanked him for everything he had done.
Aidan vented to Jake, who admitted he was moving in with Greenlee. However, Jake said he wouldn't if Aidan had a problem with it. Initially, Aidan was angry, but then realized it was a good idea. He wanted someone to be there for Greens. Jake agreed to keep an eye on her.
Krystal told Tad she was worried about Babe with Richie on the loose. Tad got a call from Colby, who said Kathy was missing. Tad rushed home; he was a basket case. After searching for a while, Krystal noticed the child hiding behind the furniture. She left Tad alone, and he begged Kathy to come out. She did. He told her he understood that she missed Julia, and he was going to do everything he could to make her feel better.
Zach had someone prepare his jet. Ryan walked in and asked what he planned to do about Richie. Personally, Ryan planned to kill him if he was acquitted. Zach predicted that Richie wasn't going to make it to his trial. Ryan called Annie and told her he'd forgotten he had something that he couldn't miss, and suggested she go to Fusion and get some work done. Then he and Zach headed out to take care of Richie.
Annie arrived at Richie's hotel room .He suggested she come on the run with him. Annie begged him not to torture her to and follow through on his part of the bargain. Richie agreed and told her to turn around — he had to make it look convincing. He brought a bottle down over her head, cut off his ankle bracelet, and left her unconscious on the floor. Ryan and Zach arrived shortly and found her. Meanwhile, Richie headed to Fusion, where he looked at a poster of the women and told them he was coming for one of them.
Friday
Frankie found Randi's hospital bed empty. He found her collapsed on the floor, and carried her back to her bed. She told him to stop trying to save her. She claimed she wanted him out of her life.
The Fusion ladies worked away, unaware that Richie was downstairs.
Everyone assured Babe that Richie couldn't get to them. Unable to use the elevator, Richie climbed to the roof. The women continued to work, and began chatting about Babe and JR's relationship, which angered Richie. Suddenly the power went off.
Ryan and Zach made sure that Annie was okay, and then questioned her. She explained she had come to ask Richie to plead guilty. The police arrived, and Annie told them her story of Richie knocking her out and disappearing. When she went to use the bathroom, Zach told Ryan he thought something was up with Annie. Ryan asked him to let him handle it.
Samuel went to visit Erica and told her he was doing a report on solitary confinement. He needed to interview her on her experience. They went to a room, and Erica relayed how horrible solitary had been. Suddenly, the prison went into lockdown mode and they were trapped inside. Erica freaked.
Angie and Jesse had dinner. She surprised him with a police hat — she wanted him to take the position as Chief of Police, after all. She knew that's what he was meant to do. Angie said she was concerned about Frankie's involvement with Randi. Jesse headed over to the police department and Angie returned to the hospital. When she got there, she told Frankie she was taking him off Randi's case because he had become personally involved. Meanwhile, Jesse was being welcomed back to the force.
