AMC Week of June 2, 2008
Monday
Josh, Ryan and Annie showed up at the Slaters' for Spike's birthday party. Greenlee was the next to arrive. Annie felt like an outsider at the festivities.... Ryan was unhappy with Kendall for contributing to Greenlee's run of back luck....
Jack went to see Erica at the prison. He broke the news that he told Greens about Aidan and Kendall's one-night stand. Erica was devastated over her inability to be there for her family in their time of need. Erica questioned her ability to survive the rest of her sentence. Jack and Erica shared a tender good-bye when her visiting time was over.
At the mansion, Babe and JR and Colby tried to keep up the spirits of Kathy, who was getting along famously with Little Adam.
Jack and Aidan blocked Adam's attempt to get into Tad's hospital room despite Adam's insistence that he could help. With Krystal at his bedside, Tad tried to go with Dixie into the light and be with her forever. Dixie told Tad that he had a life to get back to and children who needed him.... Krystal came into the hallway and asked Adam why he was at the hospital. After their chat, Adam called JR and asked him to bring Kathy to the hospital immediately.... Palmer and Opal shared a warm moment.... Aidan joined Krystal at Tad's side; she also received support from Jake.... Tad and Dixie's romantic reunion continued in heaven while on earth, his vitals began to drop. The prospect of losing Tad again was heartbreaking, but Dixie insisted that he return to his family.... JR, Babe and Kathy came to the hospital at Adam's behest. Krystal ordered them to leave, but Adam told them to stay. JR and Babe took Kathy to the vending machines while Krystal blasted Adam for summoning Kathy. Adam tried to explain what he was trying to do. Adam finally revealed that Kathy is Kate, showing Krystal the adoption papers.... Dixie kissed Tad good-bye... Adam went into Tad's room and implored him to come back. "I have your daughter ... Kathy is your Kate!" Tad's eyes bolted open.
Tuesday
Tad woke up from his coma to the news, courtesy of Adam, that Kathy is Kate. Babe was hanging out with Kathy down the hall as Krystal rushed out to tell Joe and Tad's other loved ones that Tad was awake. The group rushed into Tad's room as Angie checked out his vitals. Tad asked Adam, "Is it true?" "Yes," replied Adam. JR and Jake wanted Adam to leave, but Krystal suggested everyone just enjoy the moment. Kathy came in and Tad beamed at her. Joe tried to clear out the room but Tad insisted that Adam stay.... Krystal sat down with Kathy and later returned to Tad's hospital room; she was present when Adam presented Tad with Kate's adoption certificate. "It's for real!" marveled Tad. When Opal, Jake, JR and others came into the room, Tad told Adam to reveal the news. "I found Kate," said Adam. JR demanded to know how long Adam had known. Krystal didn't buy it when Adam claimed it was a recent discovery. Adam confirmed that he'd known for months.... Angie and Jesse lamented Julia's death.... Joe and JR broke the news to Tad that Julia was dead.... The whole crew blasted Adam for his duplicity.... JR bonded with his new little sis.... Adam told Krystal that he came clean with Tad because it was the right thing to do.
Spike's birthday party continued at the Slater home. Annie and Greenlee glowered from the sidelines as Ryan, Kendall and Zach frolicked with Spike. Josh picked up on Annie's dark mood. Ruth called with the good news that Tad was awake. Greenlee phoned Aidan with the good news; he was grateful to hear from her and later showed up at her place. Greens made it clear that she wanted him to pack up his stuff and leave. Aidan begged her to reconsider. Back at the house, Annie's feelings of alienation deepened.... Aidan accused Greenlee of not truly loving him and of sabotaging her own happiness.
Wednesday
Annie's quest to become pregnant took her to a fertility doctor. She made it clear that she would stop at nothing to have Ryan's baby.
Jake offered support to a bummed-out Aidan.... JR vented to Babe about Adam's Kathy/Kate duplicity and, in front of Jake, told Babe about what Adam had done to Jake in order to become Colby's biological father.... JR was determined to make Richie pay for making him look bad in Babe's eyes. Babe placed a call to Amanda, seeking her help....
Ryan encountered Greenlee on the beach. She tried to reassure him that he would get his memories back and opened up to him about Aidan's accusation (that she'd never truly loved him). Ryan could relate, as he was unsure that he truly loved Annie. They nearly kissed but Ryan begged off, noting that he's not the right man for Greens.
Tad told Krystal that he needed to speak to Adam. Opal and Joe entered and Joe remarked that Kathy was asking about her Aunt Julia. Tad did not relish the task of informing the little girl that Julia was dead. Aidan congratulated Tad on finding his daughter.
Erica received a surprise visitor at the prison: Adam. He asked for her help, which she was reluctant to give considering she was in jail courtesy of his insider-trading tip. When Erica heard Adam's tale about Kathy/Kate, she blasted Adam for his chicanery. Her stern advice to Chandler was that he take responsibility for his behavior and behave differently moving forward. To that end, Adam arrived at Tad's hospital room.
Thursday
Greenlee arrived at Fusion in a bad mood, not wanting to deal with Kendall. They did a phone interview about their partnership with heavy subtext. The reporter didn't buy their perfect friendship act and Greens copped to some conflict between them. Post-interview, Greens effectively stoked Kendall's insecurities by talking about how emotionally intimate she and Zach became when they thought they were sharing their final moments together. Kendall went home upset, but resisted the urge to vent to Zach about Greenlee. Her odd behavior tipped Zach off and he demanded to know why she was playing him again.
At ConFusion, Joe and Jake discussed Jake's plan to leave Pine Valley and return to Africa. Joe discouraged Jake from leaving but he was adamant. Zach arrived and informed Jake that if he returned to Africa, he'd surely die, as there was a bounty on his head. Joe gave the men a moment alone and Zach revealed to Jake that he knows about Jake's wife. Jake was defensive; Zach advised him to think long and hard about why he was so determined to return to Africa.... Jake told Joe that he was no longer with his wife but didn't want to get into the reasons why.... Greens arrived and let Jake buy her a drink.
Babe visited Amanda and asked for her help in dressing like a hooker. She explained to Amanda that she wanted to prove her loyalty to JR by getting the goods on Richie. With Amanda's help, she fashioned the perfect disguise. Posing as a prostitute, Babe went to the park. Treena spied her immediately and demanded to know what she was doing there.
In Tad's hospital room, JR protested Adam's presence but Krystal calmed him down, knowing that Tad and Adam needed a moment alone.... JR berated himself for having bought into the idea of Adam trying to rebuild their trust; Krystal offered her support.... Adam accused Tad of having tried to poach his family from him. Tad countered that Adam lost his relatives due to his own behavior. Tad told Adam that he knows Dixie brought about Adam's change of heart; Adam didn't deny it. Tad thanked Adam for having the guts to do the right thing and shook his hand. "I still hate your guts," Tad added.... Adam returned home and JR told him he would never forgive him but they still had a business to run. Adam said he was going to resume his CEO duties but JR refused to be pushed aside.... JR got word that pics of Adam in the loony bin had been leaked to the press.
Friday
Babe introduced herself as Candy when Treena confronted her at the park.
Treena introduced Babe to Tony, her "manager." Tony sent them to meet two johns at a hotel. Babe took refuge in a bathroom and called Amanda, who urged her to dash. Babe was determined not to leave until she got the goods on Richie from Treena but it looked like she was in over her head....
Adam and JR were disturbed by the image of Adam at the asylum that was in the papers. They had another blow-up and tried to figure out who had sabotaged Chandler Enterprises in the press.
Kendall and Zach discussed her Greenlee-related insecurities (and her fear that Greenlee would try to steal Zach from her the way she stole Ryan). Zach wanted to let it go so that they could move on. When Kendall couldn't — or wouldn't — capitulate, Zach accused her of trying to push him away. Kendall regretted her behavior and hoped she hadn't caused irrevocable damage to her marriage.
At ConFusion, Greenlee came on to Jake. He suggested they talk instead of having sex. Greens proposed a battle of the woes. After many shots, Jake declared Greens the winner. Jake went to the restroom; Josh arrived and Greenlee waved him over, explaining that she was the Queen of Rock Bottom. Jake and Josh told Greens that things would get better. Josh and a very soused Greenlee went home together.
Krystal was flabbergasted to learn from Tad that he'd thanked Adam for finally coming clean. Tad called Krystal on her feelings for Adam. He theorized that Krystal needed to hate Adam's guts, lest she experience her buried love for him.
