AMC Week of June 15, 2009
Monday
Annie told Emma that she has a guardian angel who will bring Annie home to
her daughter. Ryan entered and sent Emma into the hall so that he could
grill Annie about what she had been discussing with Emma. They traded
insults over who was responsible for Emma's decision to fake sick.
Meanwhile, Aidan tried to get Emma to tell her Annie's secret but learned
only that it had to do with Emma.... Back at the penthouse, Emma admitted to
Ryan that she had faked her tummy ache in an effort to see her mom. Emma
wouldn't tell Ryan what she and Annie were discussing because she didn't
want to lose "the game" that she was playing with Aidan. Ryan urged Emma to
come clean with him, noting that it would help Annie get better. In Annie's
room, Aidan said that he knew that Annie was hiding something from him. She
accused him of wanting her to go to jail and told him to get out of her
room. Aidan showed up at Ryan's and Ryan blasted him for using Emma. Ryan
told Aidan that he'd learned Annie's secret (about the guardian angel).
Tad regained consciousness in a panic over having possibly injured Liza,
forcing her to confess that she isn't really pregnant. Tad figured out that
Liza plans to raise Amanda's baby as her own. Tad had a strong negative
reaction to the plan as Liza described it.
At the yacht club, Marissa told Krystal that she hadn't had any luck
stopping David from going after Jake and Amanda. They discussed the source
of David's obsession with the baby. Marissa thought that Krystal should tell
Tad about David's plan. When she called Tad, Tad got Jake's whereabouts out
of Liza. Meanwhile, David arrived in Barbados and sniffed around Jake and
Amanda's room. When the phone rang, he answered it. It was Tad, who didn't
realize until he had said too much that David must have been on the other
end of the call. David learned from a hotel staffer that Mrs. Martin had
gone into labor.... An emotional Marissa lamented to Krystal that she missed
her parents and regretted that she had tried to fill the void in David's
life. Krystal warned Marissa that there is a black hole inside of David that
can't be filled by her or anyone. Marissa said that it was too late; she was
already in her own black hole.
Amanda cuddled her newborn son. Jake came to retrieve the baby; she said she
couldn't go through with giving him away. Ultimately, though, Amanda decided
that it was the best thing for the baby for him to be raised by adoptive
parents. With difficulty, Amanda said a private good-bye to the boy. Jake
took the baby away and Amanda collapsed in sobs. David then showed up in
Amanda's room, demanding to see his son. Amanda told David that the baby was
dead, a claim that Jake verified when he returned to the room. Jake blamed
the "death" on the hell David had put Amanda through. David blamed Jake and
started to strangle him, blaming the "death" on Jake. An orderly broke up
the fight and threw David out of the room. Jake tried to keep Amanda calm.
David begged a staffer to let him see the baby, giving Jake pause.
Liza did her best to get Tad on board with her plan but Tad thought it was
awful to tell David that his son had died. Tad refused to keep Liza's
secret.
Tuesday
Taylor announced to Randi, Angie and Jesse that Frankie was coming home.
Brot sat at a bar with Frankie. Frankie's badly bandaged hands made it
difficult, but not impossible, for him to get drunk. Randi said that Frankie
hadn't been that nice to her last time they talked. Frankie was afraid that
all his rage might hurt Randi. Brot assured his friend that all of this
would pass. Frankie wanted Brot to tell his family that he loves them, but,
"I just can't be there with them." Brot called Frankie a coward. Brot told
the Hubbards that Frankie wasn't coming and that "He's having a hard time
with it."
Taylor offered to get Frankie from the bar. Angie wondered what would happen
if Frankie vanished like the first time he came home from Iraq. But Frankie
did come home this time, albeit drunk. He called
himself a cripple and started laughing hysterically, and mumbled "God bless
America," as a red candle Angie lit for his party went out. Randi bumped
into Frankie's hands and he screamed in pain.
At Pine Valley Hospital, Kendall and Zach learned that Ian might be able to
go home tomorrow. They were overjoyed. "I want us to all be a family again,"
Kendall told Zach. "Just for the boys, not us," Kendall quickly added.
Kendall wanted to be a mom first and foremost. Zach smiled.
Also at PVH, Annie told Adam she was being discharged. Adam begged Joe to
find a reason to keep her in the hospital. Ryan wanted to talk to Adam.
"What are you doing with Annie?" Ryan asked. Ryan thought Annie needed
psychiatric help. Clearly, Annie had gotten to Adam, as he wasn't listening
to Ryan. "I understand what it's like to be hated by everyone in this town,"
Adam reminded Ryan. Adam called Kendall a murderer when he saw her there,
which she immediately denied.
Later, Kendall dropped by Ryan's house with the news that Ian would be going
home soon, and she was moving back in with Zach to be with the kids. Ryan
had just received a box that Jackson sent over from Greenlee's apartment.
Kendall made it clear that she wasn't reconciling with Zach, but told Ryan,
"I think you are better off without me here. I've made such a mess of
your life." Ryan wanted to hug her but she asked him not to comfort her.
At Tad's house, Tad made it clear that the baby Liza was talking about was
really Amanda's baby. "I need him," Liza said. Tad said that Liza would be
asking five people to live with a lie. Tad couldn't believe Liza would take
Amanda's baby. "Amanda's child is my son," Liza said firmly. Tad reminded
her that there were other babies out there. Liza remained adamant. Jake
called Liza from Barbados to tell her that David was there. Jake said that
David demanded to see the "dead" body of his and Amanda's child. Colby
showed up and Tad promised to keep Liza's secret quiet. "For now," he added.
Colby didn't think her mother looked that great. Colby wanted to touch her
mother's stomach but Liza pushed her daughter away. Colby looked confused
and hurt. "My mom is psycho," Colby said to Tad and Pete. When Pete tried to
comfort Colby by noting how good she was with babies, Colby broke Pete's
heart, telling him she wasn't having babies with him. Pete didn't understand
why Colby wouldn't love him. "Colby's the only one for me," Pete insisted.
Liza charged into Zach's office, ripped off her fake pregnancy belly
and poured herself a drink. Liza made it clear that she wanted a family to
control. Liza explained that David and Amanda's baby was going to be her
baby. Liza didn't think the "the baby is dead" explanation would fly with
David. Zach wanted to help Liza get what she wants and reminded her that
there would be other babies. Jake called Liza again, this time with the news
that she was going to get the baby. A big smile came over Liza's face and
she gave a big hug to Zach. Kendall walked in to catch them mid- hug.
Jake held the baby. "I'm going to see you soon. Real soon," he said as he
cradled the baby.
David demanded to see his son. Jake told the physician that he'd take care
of it. Jake blamed David for the death of his son. "She (Amanda) was
desperate to get away from you," Jake said. "I lost another child," David
said as he collapsed in a chair. Amanda listened as David listed all the
children he'd lost. "I'm very sorry," Jake said. David wanted to see his
son. Amanda panicked because there was no baby for David to see.
"He's gone, David," Amanda said. David clutched his heart. "If he's not in
the morgue, where is he?" David wondered. Amanda explained that the baby
never cried after he was born. Amanda started to cry. So did David. "I
couldn't say goodbye because he was already gone," Amanda continued as she
told David to say a prayer, and that he didn't want his only memory of his
baby to be a body he saw in the morgue. Jake wheeled Amanda around. David
remained convinced that Jake and Amanda had gone there for the baby, not a
honeymoon. "Nobody fools me forever," he threatened.
Wednesday
At the Chandler manse, Liza had a bad reaction to Adam's request that she
represent Annie. She demanded to know his real reasons for asking her to
defend Ryan's ex. Adam told Liza about how Annie had saved his life the
night of Stuart's murder. Liza said that she would defend Annie in exchange
for Adam's help with getting her back into Colby's good graces. JR entered
and accused Adam of losing his mind by using his dwindling fortune to defend
Annie. Adam snapped that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. Adam
said that he was trying to make Stuart proud by helping people and, as he
had more important things to do, he was leaving the running of Chandler to
JR and Scott.
Krystal and Tad welcomed Jake and Amanda home. Krystal expressed her sorrow
to Amanda over Amanda's loss. Tad took Jake aside and took him to task for
the ruse that he had cooked up with Liza. Tad and Krystal left to give Jake
and Amanda some privacy. Amanda lamented to Jake that she would never forget
her baby's face and that no other child could ever replace him. She asked
Jake to reassure her about the great life her son will have with his
adoptive family. He promised her that David would never know that the baby
actually survived. Amanda fell asleep and Jake whispered to her that he was
going to handle everything
At ConFusion, Marissa was surprised to see David in town. An inebriated
David told her that his baby was dead. Marissa told David that he isn't
alone and got him to open up about his loss. A drunk David cruelly accused
Marissa of trying to get him to love her. Marissa said that as crazy as it
sounded, she too missed Babe, the twin she'd never gotten to meet. She tried
to stop him from driving drunk and a minor scuffle ensued over the keys.
Krystal and Tad walked in and Krystal barked at David to get his hands off
her daughter. Marissa went to the porch and told Tad she couldn't believe
that "those two people" are her biological parents. Inside, Krystal told
David how sorry she was and cautioned him against taking his anger out on an
innocent victim like Marissa, who doesn't know him well enough not to take
it personally. David asked her to go home with him. She said she would drive
him home. Tad went back to his place, where a cop informed him that there
had been an accident and that Krystal was at the hospital.
JR spotted Marissa at ConFusion and came over to say hi. Marissa broke the
news about the death of Amanda's baby. JR spat to Marissa that David
deserves all the misery he's in. Marissa urged JR to beware of his karma. JR
agreed that his focus should be on Jake and Amanda and what he could do to
help them.
Erica came by Ryan's to verify that Ryan and Kendall had broken up. Erica
was thrown off guard when Ryan announced that he was in love with her
(Erica) and kissed her. Erica deduced that he was kidding. Ryan got a call
telling her that Annie was headed back to jail that day.
Liza went to see Annie and introduced herself as her new lawyer, hired by
Adam. Annie congratulated her on her pregnancy and, per Liza's request,
described how she came to find herself in the predicament she was in. Annie
insisted that she was better now. Liza decided to take the case, telling
Annie that she thinks that she can help her. On Liza's way out, she ran into
Ryan, who was upset when Liza said she was representing Annie. Ryan realized
that Adam had put her up to it, which Liza denied. When Ryan spied Adam in
the hallway, he and Adam had words over Annie, with Ryan insisting that Adam
would never get custody of Emma for Annie. Erica overheard their
confrontation. Adam spotted her and took Erica to task for trying to send
Annie back to jail. Erica was unsympathetic and said that Annie should be
behind bars for the rest of her life. Annie overheard Erica vowing to do
whatever she could to ensure Annie's imprisonment.
At the hospital, Tad was alarmed that Krystal had let David drive. She said
she was grateful that no one had been hurt then collapsed in Tad's arms.
Liza informed Jesse that Annie was now her client and that she had gotten
the judge to change his mind about sending Annie back to jail. A belligerent
David was hauled in for drunk driving. "You still have your baby," a soused
David said to Liza. "Mine's dead." Liza was rattled by their encounter.
Thursday
Krystal collapsed in Tad's arms at the hospital. After she was rushed away
for a brain scan, Angie opened up to Tad about Frank's hostility and
distance.
At the police station, Liza was rattled by her encounter with David. Jesse
got a call from Angie about Krystal's condition. When he told David, David
was frantic to get to the hospital. Jesse released David into Liza's
custody.
JR and Marissa's conversation at ConFusion was interrupted when Tad called
to tell Marissa that Krystal had been in a car accident. Marissa and JR
raced to the hospital. Marissa learned that David had been driving drunk.
Angie, Marissa and Tad went into Krystal's room and told her that she had a
concussion. Tad left and ran into David and Liza in the hallway. "She's
alive, no thanks to you," Tad reported to David. David went into Krystal's
room and apologized to her. Marissa ranted at both of them for having been
so stupid. Marissa ran off, upset.... Liza asked Tad if he wanted Krystal
back.... Jesse showed up with dinner for Angie. Angie remained preoccupied
by thoughts of Frankie. Jesse tried to assure her that their boy would make
it through this tough time... JR offered comfort to Marissa, who opened up
to him about why she felt responsible for her adoptive parents' deaths. JR
told Marissa that she reminded him of Babe and that she wasn't responsible
for her parents' choices. She thanked him for being a good friend and they
hugged.... Krystal asked David how he managed to make it impossible for her
to hate him. He apologized for the pain he'd caused her and asked her for a
second chance. She said no and asked him to leave.
Kendall and Zach brought Ian home. Ryan and Emma greeted them. Kendall asked
Ryan what he was doing there. Ryan explained that Emma had been eager to see
Ian. Kendall took Ian and Emma upstairs and Zach sarcastically offered Ryan
a drink. Ryan told Zach that he and Kendall had broken up. Zach told Ryan
that he wasn't welcome to come over whenever he pleased. Kendall entered as
they bickered and told Ryan to cool it. She said that she wished that
Greenlee were there to put both men in their place. Ryan and Emma left and
Zach and Kendall discussed her chances of beating the murder rap. Zach
thought that D.A. North was the key. Zach spoke of wanting to "get to"
North. "Don't do anything crazy," Kendall requested. He promised and she
said that she believed him.
Brot tried to get Frank to change his attitude while Randi talked to Taylor
about her troubles with Frank. Taylor urged Randi not to give up on Frank.
Brot did his darndest to penetrate Frank's wall of self-pity. Brot joined
Taylor at ConFusion and they ended up in a conversation about the state of
their relationship. Taylor felt that things were different. Brot walked out
and Tad joined Taylor at the bar. She told Tad about her fight with Brot.
Tad told Taylor that he was down because "Tad the Cad was officially gone."
They did an expert job at cheering each other up. Brot walked in with
flowers ‹ just in time to see Tad and Taylor laughing and doing shots. He
left without them seeing him.
Randi went to Jesse and Angie's and received words of encouragement from
Jesse. After Jesse left, she approached Frank, who continued to give her the
silent treatment. Randi told Frank that that wasn't enough to send her
packing. Frankie reluctantly came inside from the fire escape and sat down
next to Randi at the dinner table. "I can't hold a fork," he groused. She
fed him tenderly.
Liza went to see Ryan to get information about Annie. Ryan was not eager to
help her secure his ex-wife's freedom and said that Richie's psycho behavior
didn't give Annie a free pass to go on a crime spree. When Liza brought up
Greenlee, Ryan tried to end the interview, saying that he wouldn't let Liza
drag Greens's name through the mud.
Friday
Ryan testified at Annie's hearing that her release would endanger Emma. Liza
expertly called the veracity of Ryan's testimony into question then called
Adam to the stand. He gave glowing testimony in favor of Annie's release and
credited Annie with saving his life. Ryan, Aidan and Erica agreed that Annie
needs to be locked up. Liza requested that Annie be released on her own
recognizance given how she had been treated at Oak Haven and in prison. Over
Ryan and Erica's protests, the judge agreed to let Annie stay with Adam
(with an ankle monitor) and a million dollar bail paid by Adam. The judge
also dictated that Annie couldn't be around minors, so Little Adam had to
move out. Ryan was mortified by this turn of events, but Annie and Erica
were both convinced that Adam would not choose Annie over his grandson.
Marissa came to the manse to see JR, who had sent her a text. JR explained
that Little Adam had been requesting a play date with her. As the trio
played with blocks, Marissa thanked JR for his support at the hospital the
previous night. Adam arrived and asked to speak to JR. Marissa stayed and
bonded with Little Adam. JR had a bad reaction when Adam asked him and
Little A to move out temporarily but Adam wouldn't change his mind. He
called Liza to tell her to inform the judge of his decision as JR told
Little Adam that they had to go back up their stuff; they were going to stay
at the yacht club. Little Adam was excited and told Adam that he was going
on a great adventure with his dad.... Liza consulted with Annie, who was
thrilled to hear of her new living arrangement. Liza stressed to Annie how
important it was that she do well in her court-ordered evaluations.
Zach and Kendall played at home with the boys before Ian had a doctor's
appointment. The happy mood was spoiled when a news report about Kendall
appeared on TV. North, with his wife on his arm, made it clear to reporters
that he intended to get a conviction. Jack came by and tried to reassure the
Slaters. Jack stopped Zach from storming off to confront North.
North went to the hospital and lambasted Jesse for pursuing David as a
suspect; he only wanted leads relevant to Kendall followed up on. Kendall
and Ian arrived and came face-to-face with North and Jesse. North was
insulting Kendall when Zach arrived and defended her. Jesse broke it up
before the exchange became too heated and tried to play team player before a
suspicious North. Kendall and Zach returned home and tried to figure out how
they could get the best of North. Zach was determined to find and exploit
North's weakness.
Frank was sullen while speaking with Randi and his parents in his hospital
room. Angie introduced Frank to a specialist from New York. Frank resented
that Angie had brought the doctor in and Randi berated him for his bad
attitude. The doctor told Frank that he believed that he could help him
regain significant movement in both hands. Randi went to tell Jesse the bad
news and when she and North saw each other, they both had to conceal their
strong reactions to each other. Randi, in particular, was clearly rattled.
Frank told Jesse and Angie that he was willing to try the new doctor's
recommendations. Angie was overjoyed. Frank said he was doing it as much for
Randi as for himself... North cornered Randi in an elevator and pulled her
into a passionate kiss.
Ryan and Erica went to the yacht club and she assured him that Adam would
not agree to kick Little Adam out of the house. She also tried to assuage
his guilt over how he might have contributed to Annie's psychological woes.
Erica invited Ryan to dance with her; he accepted. Jack showed up in search
of Kendall. He declined their offer to join them for dinner. He told Erica
that he was doing everything he could to ensure Kendall's acquittal. Erica's
eyes bulged when she spied JR and Little A moving in. JR confirmed that Adam
had kicked him out of the manse.
Adam welcomed Annie into his home. Liza arrived and asked Adam why he had
traded his grandson for Annie, a charge that Adam denied. Colby entered as
Liza was remarking about the help she was getting from Adam in exchange for
helping Annie.... Aidan showed up on the mansion terrace and pulled Annie
into a kiss.
