AMC Week of July 7, 2008
Monday
Jesse arrived at the cabin to find Zach had already left. Jesse called Zach and asked him not to make things worse than they already were. Aidan took Kendall and Greenlee back to Kendall's house. Meanwhile, Dre drove Colby and Cass home. They hit something in the road. Dre wanted to check what they hit, but a wasted Colby insisted they get her home. Later, Zach called Jesse and told him he'd found Richie. As the police cars approached, Zach told a dead Richie that he had screwed with the wrong people. When they arrived, Jesse questioned Zach. Zach admitted that he had motive to kill Richie.
Annie got home and hugged Ryan. He was worried about her, and he questioned her decision to go to a movie while Richie was on the loose. Annie said she didn't know what was wrong with her. Ryan got a call from the police informing him that a body had been found. They thought it was Richie. Ryan told Annie that Richie was dead. She said it was her fault — she killed him. She said Richie was the reason she ran; she had provoked him. Ryan thought Richie had planned his escape long before Annie went to see him. Annie said she didn't know how to feel about her brother's death. Later, Jesse called and asked them to come down to the morgue and ID Richie's body.
Aidan called Zach to check in, and Zach informed him that Richie was dead. Aidan told Kendall and Greenlee. Later, when Zach came home, he immediately told them he didn't do it.
Opal visited Erica in prison. She told her that Richie had escaped, and explained that a death was coming; her cards had told her so. Opal distracted the guard so that Erica could sneak a phone call to Kendall, who assured her that everyone was fine. Erica relayed the news to Opal. Opal also told Erica that her cards had told her change was coming her way.
JR took Babe home and she called Krystal to let her know she was all right. JR promised Babe that Richie would never hurt her again. He told her that it wasn't her fault for trying to see the best in Richie. Cass and Dre brought a very loud Colby home. JR was upset to see his sister so drunk. He didn't want her to end up like he did. He got a call, and when he finished he asked Dre and Cass to take Colby to get something to eat. After Colby headed up to bed, Dre and Cassandra kissed, and then Dre headed home. Meanwhile, JR told Babe that Richie was dead.
Aidan took Greenlee home. He decided to sleep in front of her apartment door. At the mansion, JR held Babe. Kendall expressed her relief to Zach that it was over. Zach countered they knew it was long from over. At the morgue, Annie identified Richie's body.
Tuesday
Aidan brought Greenlee coffee, and she apologized for wimping out the night before. Jake arrived ready to move in. Aidan helped out, and then headed out. As she and Jake bickered, Greenlee soon found herself wondering why she'd asked Jake to move in in the first place. They talked about Aidan, and Jake gruffly told her she needed to forgive him and move on.
Angie and Jesse got breakfast at BJ's. Krystal joined them and informed Jesse that Richie had been murdered because he was evil. She also said she was glad Jesse was in charge of the investigation. Dre greeted Cassandra, and they sat down for breakfast. Krystal spotted them together, and told Jesse and Angie that Dre is a good guy. Angie observed that Cass looked very happy. Krystal walked over and greeted them. She asked about their night at the cabin, and told Cass she was proud of them for not turning it into a big party with booze. She gave them the paper so they could read about what happened to Richie, and then left. Dre read the paper and quickly worried they were the ones who mowed down Richie. Cassandra immediately freaked out. Dre told her it would be okay. She asked him to distract her so that her mom wouldn't notice from across the room how freaked out she was. Dre told her how much their kiss the night before had meant to him. Angie came over to say hello, and told them about Richie. Cass barely held it together. After she left, she asked Dre what they were going to do. She called Colby and told her they needed to talk.
Adam blamed Babe for Richie targeting JR. JR was furious of course, but Colby interrupted the argument. She was quickly filled in on Babe's kidnapping and Richie's hit and run, all of which occurred while she was wasted. JR pulled Colby aside and expressed his concerns over her drinking. He reminded her how many of their family members were alcoholics. Meanwhile, Adam gave Babe a hard time about how worried she had made Krystal. Babe quickly threw Jenny's kidnapping back in his face. Krystal burst in interrupting them, relieved to see Babe safe and sound. Once they were alone, Babe asked her what happened with Adam that had him so worked up. Krystal admitted they had kissed. JR came back in as Krystal said she would take Babe home. JR reminded Krystal that he wasn't his father. Krystal said she would be back later to get her, and headed out. JR told Babe he didn't want Krystal to be unhappy, which would make Babe unhappy, so he would help her pack. Babe said no; she was going to stay. They kissed. By the door, Krystal bumped into Adam. Adam asked her to kiss him again. Though she faltered briefly, she ended up walking away. Colby snuck Dre and Cass into the manse. They told her they may have killed Richie.
Ryan made the plans for Richie's body to be transported. Kendall and Zach went to pay Annie and Ryan a visit. Kendall told Zach she believed that he did not kill Richie. Inside, Kendall consoled Annie. She noticed Annie wasn't wearing her wedding ring, but Annie assured her she was just getting it cleaned. Ryan asked Zach if he was concerned about being a suspect. He was not. Aidan soon came over and joined them. Privately, Kendall told Zach about Annie's wedding ring. She didn't believe Annie was getting it cleaned. Later, Zach told Annie he was there if she needed to talk. He wouldn't judge her, whatever she did. Annie and Ryan headed to the hospital for Richie's autopsy. Angie told them they would have a report as soon as possible.
Jesse discovered that the guard who was working when Richie was beaten had retired early and moved to Costa Rica. Jesse called Zach down to the police station. When he arrived, Jesse told him he had questions about him and Richie Novak.
Aidan went back to Greenlee's where he held up notecards for her to read. The cards said that he loved her now and always would, and wished that she would always love him too. When she finished reading them, he handed them to her and left.
Wednesday
When Randi asked if she could be released, Frankie informed her that Fletcher was also being released that day. They began joking around, and Angie saw them laughing together. Soon enough they were arguing once again. When he left the room, Angie asked how she was doing. He didn't think she was ready to be released.
Colby, Dre and Cass talked about what they had potentially done. Dre said he would take the blame and confess. The girls didn't want him to do that. Soon they began talking about how their families would be affected if this information came out. Finally, they made a pact to keep it a secret forever.
Erica and Samuel were interviewed in the prison. Soon they were flirting. After the interview, the interviewer said that thanks to Erica, he had seen a new side to Samuel. Once he left, they flirted some more, and eventually said goodbye, though reluctantly.
Jesse continued to question Zach. He laid out a scenario in which Zach purposely ran down Richie. Zach insisted Richie was already dead when he found him. Jesse wanted to talk about the bruises Richie was covered with before being hit by the car. He told Zach about the guard that was on duty during Richie's beating who moved to Costa Rica. Zach couldn't keep the grin off his face, and laughed off Jesse's "theories." He left, warning Jesse to stay away from him and to leave his family alone.
Angie told Annie and Ryan that Richie had been killed by blunt force trauma to the head, and there was evidence of him being hit by a car. Annie asked if he suffered, and Angie assured her that his death was probably instantaneous. After, she called Jesse with the results of the autopsy. Meanwhile, Annie flashed back to the night Richie was killed. After Richie ran them off the road, they got a flat tire. Richie and Annie traded insults as he worked on the tire. Richie told her he would send Ryan a letter telling him the truth. As he continued to taunt her, Annie snapped and knocked him in the head with a tire iron. As he hit the ground, Annie quickly apologized, and begged him to get up. He didn't move. Back in present time, Ryan asked if she was okay. As he consoled her, he had flashbacks of Greenlee. Annie starting talking about how horrible it would be if she ever lost him. Ryan told her he never wanted to hurt her like that. Annie thought Richie's death had brought them closer. They went home.
Thursday
Frankie vented to Jesse and Angie about Fletcher being released from prison. After he left, Jesse mused over Richie's murder. Jesse thought that Richie's killer must have hated him. He told her he had some evidence coming in that would lead him in the right direction.
Aidan came over to see Greenlee, who asked him over. After some small talk, Greenlee pulled out some cards of her own. They said, "I forgive you." Greenlee said she needed time to get back to where they were. Aidan said he would give her all the time she needed to learn to trust him again. They shared a passionate kiss and exchanged "I love you"s. Greenlee said she needed to go sailing to clear her head.
At the hospital, Frankie told Randi that he thought she needed to stay another few days. Randi thought he was keeping her there just because Fletcher was out. As it turned out, Randi's lack of insurance wouldn't allow her to stay in the hospital any longer. Angie began checking her out, all the while warning her to stay away from the man that did this to her. After Angie left, Frankie came in and told Randi that he had a place for her to stay for one night. After that, he would leave her alone. She agreed. Angie came back in and Randi was gone. Frankie told her that he had checked her out and took her someplace where she would be safe.
Jackson brought Kendall to visit Erica. She was able to go to Erica's side of the bars. They were both thrilled to share a hug. Before he left them alone, Jack filled Erica in on Carmen's case. Kendall immediately began talking about plans for Erica's show, but Erica wanted to hear all the details about Richie. Kendall filled her in. Then she asked about Erica being trapped in solitary with Samuel. Kendall claimed Samuel was hot for Erica. Then she asked about Jack, and whether they would be getting back together when she was released. When Erica accidentally said Samuel's name instead of Jack's, Kendall knew something was up. Erica reluctantly admitted to Kendall that she kissed Samuel. Erica asked her to keep it to herself; she didn't want Jack getting hurt. It was a one-time thing.
Samuel's father Melvin met him at the Yacht Club. They chatted about Dre, and then Melvin changed the topic to Erica. He had a hard time believing that Samuel's interest in Erica was purely professional. Jackson and Carmen sat down nearby. Jack asked how her job with Adam was going, and she said it was going well. She was making herself indispensable to Adam. Carmen told Jack that she thought he needed to rebuild his life with Erica. Samuel walked over and interrupted them. Carmen quickly made a comment about Erica and Jack getting back together. This piqued Samuel's interest. Jack denied that he and Erica were back together, but wondered why Samuel was asking. Samuel made up an excuse and left. Back at his table, his dad reminded Samuel that Melissa had lived every day to the fullest. He pointed out that Samuel was being practical about Erica; weighing the pros and cons. Samuel wished he could read Dre the way his father could read him. Jack and Carmen called Erica. Carmen told her how much she missed her. Jack mentioned that Samuel was there, and this took Erica by surprise.
Babe and Annie talked at Fusion. Babe wanted to know how she was holding up.
Annie asked Babe the same question. Annie said that Ryan was helping her get through it. Babe filled Annie in on her moving back into the Chandler manse. Jesse found out the phone number that received Richie's last cell phone call. He called the number and Annie answered. Jesse told her Richie's last call was made to her. He asked questions, but all her answers were vague. He wanted to get together to talk. Babe and Annie talked more about Richie, and Babe mentioned that no one deserved to die the way he had. Annie sharply told her Richie deserved everything he got. Babe reminded Annie that everyone was there for her, and then left to get lunch with JR. Kendall arrived at the office and Annie told her she needed to work and keep her mind off everything. Jesse walked in and told Annie he'd like to have that chat now.
Angie came home and found Randi asleep in Cassandra's bed. Frankie came in just in time to see Angie's look of death.
Friday
Angie demanded to know what Randi was doing there. Frankie told her that it was just for the night. Angie was not amused. Frankie accused his mother of thinking he was too good for Randi. She admitted that was true. Frankie compared Randi to Jesse. Randi rushed out of the apartment, and Frankie went after her.
Jesse arrived at Fusion, where he told Annie that he needed to question her, and it couldn't wait. Kendall left them alone. Babe went home to see JR, who assured her they wouldn't have to worry about Richie ever again. Babe complained about Kendall and Greenlee running Fusion. Meanwhile, Greenlee prepared to go sailing. Out on the boat, she talked to her tiger. She got a call from Kendall, who was annoyed that she wasn't at work. In reality, Kendall was more aggravated about the fact that Jesse was there questioning Annie. Next she called Babe, and gave Babe a hard time about not being in the office. An annoyed Babe ended up hanging up on her. JR suggested Babe should be running Fusion. Maybe he could buy it for her. Babe appreciated the offer, but said she didn't need him to do that.
Ryan met Zach at the Yacht Club. Ryan promised their plans for Richie would remain secret. They started talking about Annie, and how Ryan still wasn't remembering any feelings for her. Before leaving, Zach suggested Ryan stop spending mixed signals. Ryan noticed Greenlee sailing, and radioed out to her. They joked around, and as Ryan watched her, he mused to himself that all of his memories were of her. Meanwhile, Greenlee said to herself, "Aidan's the one I love." Suddenly, Ryan saw the mast knock her out.
Back at Fusion, Jesse asked about a movie ticket stub, and Annie dumped out her entire bag to find it. Not only did she find the stub, but a pregnancy test fell out as well. She handed the stub over to Jesse. He pressed her and pressed her with more questions until she suddenly blurted out that Richie told her about Zach. Annie backtracked, but then admitted that Richie said Zach was the one who beat Richie up in jail. Just as Annie told Jesse that Richie also said Zach threatened to kill him, Kendall walked in, furious. Kendall immediately denied that Zach had anything to do with Richie's murder, all the while shooting death looks at Annie. Zach arrived at Fusion, and Jesse arrested him. After they left, Kendall let Annie have it. She implied that perhaps Annie was trying to cover for herself. A guilty Annie claimed Kendall didn't know for sure whether or not Zach killed Richie.
The kids continued to worry about the fact that they could have killed Richie. Colby apologized for getting so wasted at her party. They decided they weren't going to worry about Richie anymore, and decided to head down to the Yacht Club. The doorbell rang, and when Colby answered it, there stood Petey Cortlandt. She introduced him to Cass and Dre. Pete mentioned the damage to Colby's new car. In fact, he thought he saw blood splattered on it.
