Monday
Erica and Ryan brought Emma in to the hospital. Annie examined the seemingly traumatized girl. Erica told Jake what was going on with the little girl. At Ryan's request, Jake tried to get through to Emma, who remained non-responsive. Erica tried to console Ryan. Jake showed Ryan the picture of Ryan, Emma and Annie that Emma had in her possession. A child psychiatrist came to speak to Emma. Willis arrived with a subpoena to speak to Emma. Ryan, Erica and Jake tried to block his path to the child. Willis accused Erica of having Kendall's best interests in mind, not Emma's. Jesse arrived and Erica beseeched him to call off Willis, but Willis stood his ground. Ryan was upset that Zach had tipped off Jesse to Emma's whereabouts, which is how Willis learned that Emma was in the hospital. Erica said that Ryan should leave Zach to her. The doctor told Ryan that Emma's withdrawal was a coping mechanism and refused to allow Willis to question Emma. He brandished the subpoena, leaving her no choice but to consent to Willis interviewing Emma. Emma wouldn't answer Willis's questions. Emma took a piece of chalk and wrote the word "Mommy" on the wall when Willis asked her to draw what had happened that night.
Amanda had a nightmare about Trevor. Meanwhile, Tad tried to calm a fussy Trevor. A sleepy Taylor joined in the effort. Tad was impressed by Taylor's ability to appease Trevor. Taylor said that she wanted a baby then went to investigate a noise coming from her bedroom. It was Amanda, who explained that after having a nightmare about Trevor, she had had to come make sure that her baby was okay. Amanda passed out on the couch with Trevor in her arms. Tad called Taylor out for being moved to tears by the sight.
Randi was struck with another terrible pain; Frankie ran to get help. Frank realized that Randi was losing the baby and Angie tried to comfort him. Randi's doctor confirmed that Randi had miscarried. Frank exploded in anger at Angie, then rushed back to his wife's side. Jesse heard the news from Angie and was crushed. He had flashbacks about covering up North's murder for Randi's benefit and commented that everything he had done, he had done for Randi and the baby. Angie demanded an explanation of his cryptic words. "Leave it alone," Jesse pleaded. Jesse and Angie went to see Frank and Randi. Frank went into the hall; Angie followed to provide solace. Randi told Jesse that the miscarriage was her punishment for killing North. Angie watched them together, knowing something was up....
Adam informed a jittery Annie that he had been taping all the goings-on at the mansion. He asked her, how long she had been planning their wedding? Annie asked Adam to marry her. Adam turned her down, saying that marrying would spoil the good thing they had going. Annie accused Adam of having been influenced by her Oak Haven files. He tried to assure her of his love. Once alone, Annie vowed aloud that Adam would marry her.
Kendall told Zach that she killed Stuart. He refused to believe that she pulled the trigger but she was convinced of her guilt and broke down crying again. Zach assured Kendall that Annie would be found guilty of the crime and asked her to promise not to issue a confession to anyone else. Once alone, Zach took a gun out of his safe. Erica arrived and read Zach the riot act for revealing Emma's whereabouts. Zach said that Kendall now believed Annie's lies, too. After telling Erica not to let Kendall leave the house, he tore off. Kendall told Erica that she shot Stuart. Erica pooh-poohed the confession as Kendall asked her to take care of Zach and the boys. "I'm turning myself in," said Kendall. Erica said Kendall would leave the house over Erica's dead body.
Annie heard a noise on the terrace and went to investigate. Adam came into the study and found her missing. Annie bent over to pick up a shattered flower pot and Zach fired a gun in Adam's direction. Adam stared at Annie, having no reason to suspect that she wasn't the shooter.
Tuesday
In Emma's hospital room, Emma scrawled the word "Mommy" on the wall while Willis was questioning her. She refused to elaborate as to what the word signified. Ryan asked Willis to back off. "I want to talk to Mommy," piped up Emma. Ryan didn't want Annie anywhere near Emma. Willis wouldn't budge. Jake tried to convince Ryan that Emma and Annie visiting with each other wouldn't be that damaging. Liza brought baby Stuart to the hospital. Jake excused himself from Ryan to check in on Stuart. Liza begged him to help her calm Stuart down, noting that he had been fussy for ages and she had barely gotten any sleep or food.... Ryan tried to comfort Emma.
At the Chandler manse, Zach fired a gun into the study to make it look like Annie tried to shoot Adam. Annie's claims of innocence fell on deaf ears. Adam told his guards to call the police. JR and Scott entered and Adam spat that they had been right about Annie. Scott thought that Annie might be telling the truth. Jesse arrived and when Willis phoned, he was stunned to learn that Annie was being dragged to the station. Willis informed Ryan of the development.... Jesse was dubious about Annie being the shooter, since someone under house arrest would have a hard time acquiring a gun. At the station, Annie placed a frantic call to her lawyer, Liza, who was busy with Stuart and didn't hear the call.... Whilst apologizing to JR for not having seen through Annie, Adam suffered chest pains and JR rushed to get him medical aid.... Scott sneaked in to see Annie to hear her side of the story about what had happened in the parlor that night.
Erica tried to talk Kendall out of confessing to Stuart's murder. Zach returned home and told Kendall that the nightmare was over. Zach refused to tell Kendall what he had done but continued to emphasize to her that she should not pay for Stuart's murder. Erica went to the hospital and Ryan updated her on Emma's condition. Erica was thrilled when Ryan told her that Annie had been arrested for trying to shoot Adam. Emma overheard Erica saying that Annie had killed Stuart. Ryan went to the station and pooh-poohed Scott's defense of Annie. Ryan went in to see Annie and asked her how he should tell Emma that Emma can't talk to her mommy because mommy tried to kill someone. Annie accused Ryan of firing the gun to set her up.
Emma slipped off unseen and went over to Adam, who was in the waiting room. Emma told Adam that Annie didn't hurt Stuart and that Adam knows it. Erica gasped when she saw them together.
David approached Liza, who was passed out in the waiting room with her son. Liza let David snuggle Stuart; Jake witnessed and gave Liza a pointed look.
Jesse came to the Slater house and told Zach and Kendall abut Annie's arrest. Zach walked Jesse out and Jesse asked Zach what he thought really happened back at the house. Jesse indicated that he knew Zach fired the shot. Zach noted that he and Jesse aren't that different. Zach went back inside and Kendall said, "You did it, didn't you." Zach replied that it didn't make a difference so long as Annie was behind bars.
Wednesday
At the Chandler mansion, Jesse came upon Natalia evaluating the latest crime scene. She pointed out that Annie had no motive to kill Stuart or Adam, but Jesse argued that Annie is unstable, end of story. At the police station, Ryan confronted Annie about having a reason to go after Adam, perhaps that she's afraid he'll keep her away from Emma. Zach, meanwhile, urged Kendall to let go of her belief that she killed Stuart, but Kendall was p.o.'d that her husband tried taking matters into his own hands by firing a bullet into the Chandler study. Zach insisted that she did not kill Stuart and that that was the end of the conversation.
Adam admitted to Erica it was a real shock hearing gunshots at the house earlier that night. He repeated what Emma said about her mommy not killing Stuart, but Erica insisted that Emma was confused. She suggested that Annie has her daughter brainwashed, thinking back to Kendall's confession. Later, Erica tried to comfort Ryan by claiming that Jesse will make sure Annie is brought to justice.
Marissa ran into Liza at the hospital and reported that Kendall may have scored a break. Liza asked Marissa to tell Annie that she can't represent her in the Chandler murder and to ask Annie if she's changing her story now that she's under arrest. Jake phoned Amanda at home and made a cryptic request to meet him at ConFusion. Adam finished up with the doctors and JR escorted him home. At ConFusion, Amanda asked a nervous Jake what was so important. He warned her against going to Taylor's condo to see their hidden baby whenever she feels like it.
Liza dropped in on Zach and Kendall and gloated about how Kendall's exoneration would steam Willis. When she noticed how quiet Kendall was, Liza asked why she wasn't jumping for joy. "Women," Zach shrugged. "She doesn't want to get her hopes up," which Liza didn't exactly buy. Ryan stopped by next to "celebrate" the news and announced that Annie has a theory: Zach took the shot at Adam. Kendall stepped forward and claimed that she killed Stuart, which Zach begged Ryan not to repeat.
Marissa hurried over to the station on Liza's orders and encountered Scott, who mentioned Annie's claim and that he believes her. Marissa went in to see Annie and informed her that Liza can't represent her in this matter due to a conflict of interest. "Does Liza assume that I'm guilty?" Annie queried, insisting (rightly) that Zach had framed her. She worked herself into a frenzy as she thought of all the people working against her by creating a web of lies. Natalia rushed in, but Marissa assured her that everything was fine. Afterward, Jesse told Marissa that it was going to be pretty tough for Annie to wiggle herself out of this one, then sat down with Annie to go over her story. He reviewed her past offenses and said she's not looking too innocent right now. "You're working with them," a paranoid Annie suddenly exclaimed. Jesse told her to drop her conspiracy theories.
At ConFusion, Marissa confided to Liza that she half believes Annie's story. Liza was bemused and reiterated a football legend's motto: "Just win, baby." Scott delivered the news about Annie's claim to JR, who said Annie was just talking crazy and wanted to know why Scott is suddenly jumping to her defense. Scott just didn't think the story added up and asked Adam for his opinion. "Frankly, I miss her," Adam confessed.
Thursday
Erica came to Kendall's and tried to make Kendall feel okay about Annie taking the fall for the murder. Kendall continued to insist that she, not Annie, is the guilty party. At Erica's insistence, Erica and Kendall went to Fusion, but Kendall remained preoccupied about Zach's set-up of Annie. "Annie should pay for what she did, not what I did," sighed Kendall, who wanted to turn herself in. Erica blasted her for being selfish and broke down sobbing about how much Kendall means to her.
At the courthouse, Liza and Jesse advocated for Kendall's release since Annie was being charged with Adam's attempted murder. The judge would only grant them more time to mount their defense.
Adam went to see Annie in prison but seemed unmoved by her attempt to convince him that she truly loved him and hadn't tried to kill him. Jack asked Adam if he thinks that Annie is guilty. Jack then met with Annie, who told Jack that she thinks Zach set her up. Jack decided to take Annie's case. Annie insisted to Jack that Kendall is Stuart's murderer. Jack then went to see Kendall, telling her and Erica that he has a new client: Annie. Kendall ran off and Erica berated Jack for betraying her. Jack claimed to know everything he needed to about Kendall's guilt by looking into Erica's eyes.... Annie summoned Aidan and asked him to help her clear her name. He wasn't interested, given the way she had treated him.
Ryan apologized to Emma for having doubted her account of the night of Stuart's murder. Emma hugged him, then withdrew when she saw Zach. Ryan and Zach had harsh words in the corridor and Ryan ordered Zach to stay away from Emma. Ryan tried to get Zach to believe that Kendall might actually have shot Stuart but Zach refused to budge. He went to the courthouse and told Jesse and Liza that Kendall standing trial "wasn't going to happen." Alone with Zach, Liza called him out on having framed Annie. Zach said he wouldn't let his wife's fate rest in the hands of a jury. Jack approached and told Zach that he intended to prove that Zach had framed Annie. Aidan arrived and stunned Zach, Liza and Jack by claiming that Zach couldn't have shot at Adam because Zach had been with Aidan at the time.
Tad complimented Taylor on surviving a night with the baby. Taylor continued to bask in the baby's presence. Brot arrived; Tad hid with Trevor. Brot said he needed to talk to Taylor about the baby — but he meant about the baby Randi miscarried. Taylor was crushed. Brot asked Taylor to join him at the Hubbards' but Taylor said it wasn't a good time. Tad emerged in a bathrobe and Brot beat a hasty retreat. Taylor glared at Tad. He apologized and they discussed their attitudes toward romance, growing closer in the process. Taylor admitted to Tad that she she was starting to have feelings for him and they shared a sweet first kiss.
Adam came to the hospital to see Emma and Ryan blocked his path. Erica arrived in time to hear Adam defending Annie to Ryan. Adam left and Erica tried to assure Ryan that they were doing the right thing.
Kendall went to the police station and while Natalia was summoning Jesse, Kendall sneaked in to see Annie, who taunted Kendall that Kendall would soon be behind bars. Kendall then told Jesse that she had something to tell him.
Friday
Aidan told Jack, Liza and Zach that he was with Zach at the time of Adam's near-shooting. "This isn't over," fumed Jack before storming off. Liza excused herself. Aidan explained to Zach that he wants Annie to pay for what she's done.
At the police station, Kendall prepared to confess to Jesse. Annie accused Jesse of intending to cover up Kendall's confession. Liza showed up and realized what Kendall was about to do. Liza was adamantly opposed to Kendall confessing but she insisted that she's guilty. Liza tried to use the boys to talk Kendall out of it. Jesse rejoined them and Kendall told them she was sorry for having wasted his time. She ran off. Jesse told Liza to keep an eye on Kendall, who was clearly losing it.
After Tad and Taylor shared their first kiss, Taylor said she didn't think that they were a good idea. Tad tried to dissuade her. Amanda showed up to see Trevor. When she went to change the baby's diaper, Tad kissed Taylor again and a returning Amanda ducked away to preserve their privacy. After Tad left, Amanda told Taylor that she had spied her kissing Tad. Amanda urged Taylor to give Tad a shot. Taylor opened up to Amanda about how she wants her life to be about more than just her. Amanda said that she understood because of how much meaning Trevor had given her.
At the Martin house, Krystal and Opal made themselves scarce so that JR and Marissa could be alone. JR told Marissa that he and Little A were moving back to the mansion that day. Marissa gave him a neck massage. Little A entered and JR told him they were moving back home. Krystal warned Marissa that JR living at the mansion could pose a problem for her and JR. Later, Tad returned home and admitted to Krystal that he is seeing someone. She was
affected by the revelation. They acknowledged that they still have feelings for each other. Krystal told Tad that she was happy for him.
Zach came home to find Ryan. Ryan urged Zach to take Kendall out of town. Zach refused to go on the run with the boys. Ryan broke the news that Adam no longer thinks that Annie is guilty. Kendall returned home and Ryan told her she was leaving the country that night. Kendall wished they could go back to the night of Stuart's death and do things differently. Liza showed up and tried to convince everyone that she can win Kendall's case. Kendall said she couldn't risk a conviction.
At the Chandler manse, Natalia shared her theory with Adam and Scott that Annie, not Adam, was the intended target of the almost-shooting of Adam. As they talked it out, they seemed to prove Nat's hypothesis that Annie couldn't have been the shooter. Adam realized that he had wrongly accused Annie. Jesse walked in and asked what the hell was going on. Adam praised Natalia's detective skills to Jesse and accused Jesse of a cover-up. Marissa was there when JR prepared to move in and received a rude awakening: Annie, returning "home" from jail with a smirk on her face as JR's face fell.
Jesse went to the Slater house and informed Ryan and Zach that the charges against Annie had been dropped. Jesse said that he needed to take Kendall into custody because she had been deemed a flight risk. Kendall said that she was ready to be taken to jail.
