Monday
Marissa reeled when David shared his theory that Liza is passing off David's
son as her own. She said she would help him try to get to the truth.
Liza showed up as Krystal was interrogating Jake about whether Liza's baby
is truly Liza's. Liza threatened to take legal action against David if he
didn't stop stirring up trouble. Krystal remained suspicious but said that
she would try to get David to back off. Liza returned home with the baby and
Colby answered the door when Marissa knocked. Colby took the tot to feed him
as Marissa made nice with Liza. Marissa and Colby then went for a walk with
Stuart and Marissa pumped Colby for info on the baby. Colby's comments made
Marissa think there was something to David's theory....
David met up with Krystal on the waterfront and claimed to realize now that
Liza's baby was not his. Krystal admitted that she still loves David but
refused to reconcile with him, insisting that they can't make their
dysfunctional dynamic work. He refused to let her go but she walked away.
Krystal went back home and told Jake that David wouldn't be a problem
anymore. She remained heavy-hearted over her conversation with Krystal. Jake
then got a phone call and told the caller to give a kiss to the little guy
for him....
Annie consoled Adam, who had just learned of North's death and wondered
whether justice would ever be served in Stuart's murder. Adam assured Annie
that he wouldn't let the new D.A. pursue her as a suspect. Annie then showed
Adam her skimpy bikini and invited him to take a swim with her.
Jesse met with Asst. D.A. Willis, who was taking over Kendall's case. Willis
noted that unless he found North's files, they would have trouble
prosecuting Kendall. Jesse tried to get Willis to consider Annie a suspect.
Natalia came in with the news that Annie was on the run. They headed to the
mansion, where they realized that the swimming pool had falsely indicated
that she had fled. Annie agreed to be questioned by them. Once alone with
Jesse, Annie maintained her innocence and told Jesse that she was going to
marry Adam.
Madison gave Zach North's files in Kendall's case. Madison denied it when
Zach accused her of having killed North. Madison told Zach that she had seen
North's killer on the hotel security tapes and that the "dirty hooker" had
had help in covering her tracks from Jesse. Madison said that she had
destroyed the surveillance tapes. Zach took the files and brought them to
Liza. Zach informed Liza that she was now Kendall's lawyer and that he
expected an acquittal. Liza realized that he was blackmailing her and that
she had no choice but to comply. Colby and Marissa returned and was
surprised to hear that Liza had taken Kendall's case. Marissa suggested to
Liza that she hire her as a law clerk. Colby told Liza that she thinks that
Marissa is trustworthy. Meanwhile, Marissa reported on her encounter with
the Colby women to David. David stopped her from washing Stuart's spit-up
off of her dress so that he could test the DNA.
Kendall came to see Ryan, who was fresh out of the shower. Kendall was
stunned when Erica came downstairs, wet and clad only in Ryan's shirt.
Kendall bolted and Ryan told Erica about North's death. Erica was
embarrassed when she realized that Kendall thought she and Ryan had had sex
and tried to leave before returning to put her clothes on. Erica departed
after giving Ryan a quick peck. Kendall, meanwhile, went to Fusion and threw
a poster with Erica's face on it to the ground. Erica showed up and took
note of the poster on the floor. She tried to assure her daughter that there
was nothing going on with her and Ryan. Kendall sulked that Zach doesn't
want her anymore. Erica continued to maintain that Zach still loves Kendall.
Kendall was horrified to hear about Annie's attempt to strangle Erica. Zach
called and told Kendall to hurry home. After Kendall left, Erica picked up
the poster and put it back where it belonged. She looked at herself in the
mirror and thought back to her sprinkler romp with Ryan. Adam arrived and
ranted at Erica that she's the lunatic, not Annie. Adam was upset with her
for siccing Jesse on Annie. Erica defended herself, saying that if Adam
wasn't careful around Annie, he'd end up dead.... Kendall returned home and
had a strongly adverse reaction to Zach's announcement that he'd hired Liza
as her attorney.
Aidan went to Ryan's and Ryan said that he was done trying to help Kendall.
Aidan complimented him for cutting his ties to a woman he'd never had to
begin with. Ryan couldn't stop thinking about his time with Erica.
Tuesday
Tad warned Jake that David was running a secret DNA test on Stuart. Jake
insisted that he had it all under control.
Brot and Taylor had a friendly encounter at the hospital, the first since
their breakup. She told Brot that she was meeting Tad for brunch but
insisted that it wasn't a date. Taylor went over to Tad's because he had
forgotten their date. He apologized profusely, citing the chaos in his
house. They agreed to eat there instead of the yacht club, but she became
convinced that it was all a huge mistake when he spilled a drink on her. She
started breaking down over her encounter with Brot and how she doesn't know
what she's doing with her life. "Pity party's over," she declared. Tad
suggested that they both blow away some of the garbage in their life. They
shook on it.
Angie stopped by Frank and Randi's with food and to watch Jesse's press
conference about North's cause of death. Randi collapsed as both she and
Jesse thought back to covering up North's death. Jesse denied to Natalia
that he is happy that North is dead. Frank and Angie tended to Randi, who
recovered in time to watch the press conference. Jesse told the press that
it is believed that Frank had fallen asleep at the wheel. Randi excused
herself, and Angie shared with Frank that she still thinks that Jesse is
hiding something.
Kendall was upset that Zach had hired Liza as her attorney. Zach insisted
that Liza was the best person for the job then left over Kendall's continued
protests..... Zach went to see Jesse just before Madison arrived. She told
them that she knows what really happened to her husband and that she had
taken the security tapes. Jesse told Madison that he wasn't going to let her
dead rapist husband destroy Randi's life. Zach exposed Randi as the woman
North had loved and lost. Jesse made him leave, then tried to talk Madison
out of finishing what North had started by ruining Randi. Madison feigned
believing Jesse's account of that night. She offered to keep her silence in
exchange for Jesse expediting North's life insurance pay-out.... Liza told
Colby about David's suspicions that Stuart is his. She then went to
Kendall's and convinced Kendall that she's the right lawyer for her. Liza
wanted Kendall to take the stand at her trial and they had a practice
session. Kendall became emotional as she relived the night of the murder.
Zach got the wrong idea when he got home and found Kendall in tears. Liza
assured him that they were just prepping for court. After she left, Kendall
told Zach that she thinks Liza can win the case. She accused Zach of
sleeping with Liza again to get her to represent her. Zach reminded Kendall
that she's the one who had a full-on affair with Ryan while they were still
married (he was single when he bedded Liza). Kendall told Zach that it was
over between her and Ryan and expressed her confusion over why they couldn't
just love each other. She swept Zach into a passionate kiss.
Marissa fretted to David about how anyone would be capable of faking a
baby's death, "especially her," she said, pointing at Amanda, who was down
the hall at the hospital. Marissa left and David approached Amanda, laying
it on thick about the pain of losing their son. David told Amanda that he
had felt a strong pull to Stuart and Amanda said that she had felt the same
way. Amanda was flabbergasted when David shared his theory that Stuart was
their son. She denounced him as crazy and fled. David got a call and found
out that the test results weren't ready. In his frustration, he lashed out
at Brot, who promptly quit. David then taunted Jake about how Amanda had run
out in tears earlier. Jake left a message for Amanda, asking her to call
him. Angie then approached him for help with something that would require a
little rule-bending. Jake was happy to assist her.... Angie confronted Jesse
with North's autopsy results, noting discrepancies. Jesse urged her to leave
it alone. Angie said that she couldn't and worried that he might have killed
North. Jesse denied that he was keeping anything from his wife.
Marissa came to see Colby, who treated her coldly on account of what she had
just learned about David. Marissa reminded Colby that she's not her dad and
Colby agreed to let her in. Amanda then showed up. Colby let her hold the
baby but was a little freaked when Amanda had trouble giving him back.
Amanda returned to the hospital and confronted Jake about the connection she
feels to Stuart. She told Jake to swear that he didn't give Liza her baby.
Meanwhile, Marissa rejoined David, who had gotten the DNA test results.
Frank whisked Randi off to the yacht club for a romantic meal. Brot
approached to offer congratulations on the baby the Hubbards were expecting.
Brot excused himself and Frank went after him, to make sure he was okay.
Madison then asked Randi if she could join her, identifying herself as
Henry's widow.
Wednesday
At the Slater house, Kendall pleaded with Zach to tell her what he wants.
She kissed him passionately. He broke away and told her, "We can't do this."
He said that falling back into their past wasn't an option for him. Kendall
noted that he wouldn't let himself love her back and ran out, upset. Jesse
came to the house to discuss the case and Zach subtly probed him about
whether he was hiding something about North's death. Jesse confirmed that
Madison is the one who had taken the hotel surveillance tapes but said that
Madison threatening Randi changed everything. When Frank returned home,
Jesse left. Randi went to take a nap and Frank got a text message from an
unknown user asking him if he was sure he was the father of Randi's baby.
Madison sat down with Randi by the waterfront and told Randi that she knows
Randi killed her husband. Randi denied the charge and denied having
slept with Henry the night he died. Frank returned to the table and Randi
introduced herself to him. He offered his condolences; she claimed to have
come by to congratulate Randi on her pregnancy. The Hubbards returned home
and Randi continued to have flashbacks about the night with Henry in D.C.,
so she pulled back from making love to Frank. Frank left to go get soda
water for her when Randi claimed that she was nauseous. Jesse then arrived,
having been summoned by Randi. Randi freaked out to Jesse that Madison knew
about her killing North. Jesse then went to the casino to confront Madison.
They traded threats.
Jake swore to Amanda that he didn't give her baby to Liza; she apologized
for doubting him. Meanwhile, the DNA test results informed David that Liza's
baby isn't his. David told Marissa that he thinks Jake fudged the results.
Marissa tried to dissuade him and told him that if he couldn't drop his
obsession, she would walk out of his life. He told her that she was right
and apologized. David then approached Jake and Amanda and told them that he
was dropping his quest to prove that Liza's baby is his after receiving the
DNA results. "It's over," he vowed. Amanda thanked him.
Emma listened in as Asst. D.A. Willis questioned Ryan about the night of the
murder. Liza entered and told Ryan that she's representing Kendall. Ryan
lamented Zach's choice of attorney. Liza urged Willis not to take the case
to trial but he was undeterred. After Willis left, Ryan told Liza that he
believes Annie to be guilty, a charge that Emma overheard. Ryan told Liza
about the picture Emma drew of Annie holding the gun, which Liza asked to
see. Liza left and Kendall arrived. Kendall apologized to Ryan for coming,
noting that she was reverting her old bad habits. Emma kept eavesdropping as
Ryan laid into Kendall for her impulsive decisions. Ryan told Kendall that
he had to get back to his own life and indicated that on some level, he
wonders if she did kill Stuart based on the things she said. She copped to
sometimes thinking she did it because so many people think that she's
guilty. She left and Emma revealed herself and told Ryan that she had heard
voices. She spotted her picture and told Ryan that she heard him say that
Annie killed Stuart. "Mommy didn't kill Stuart," insisted Emma. She told him
that she had seen who really did it.
At ConFusion, Krystal was dubious when Marissa insisted that David had
promised to give up on going after Jake and Amanda. Jake and Amanda arrived
and Amanda said that for once, she thinks David will be true to his word.
When David arrived, Krystal approached him and he admitted that he had
reneged on his promise not to pursue the Stuart issue further. He said that
he now accepted that his son was dead. She said she would think about
believing him and invited him to take a walk. He said there was something
that he had to do first.
Zach and Liza met at the casino. Liza told Zach that she thinks she has
found North's secret ace in the hole in his case against Kendall, a cryptic
note that read "The Kid." He believed her theory that Emma is the kid in
question. Liza went back to her suite and David came by to come clean about
how he had tested Stuart's DNA. She accepted his apology and they shook
hands. David left with a heavy heart. Liza then tended to the baby and
called Jake to report that David had been there. She asked Liza how he had
managed to convince David that the baby isn't his. Amanda overheard Jake
tell Liza that he had switched the DNA results.
Kendall came home and Zach asked her if Emma could have seen her on the
night of the murder. Meanwhile, Ryan questioned Emma, who said that she saw
Kendall shoot Stuart.
Thursday
Annie prepared for a special dinner at the Chandler house with Annie. Annie
told an arriving Scott that it was a private night for her and Adam. Scott
and Annie chatted about her feelings for Adam. JR showed up and barked at
Scott not to believe a word out of Annie's mouth. He revealed to Annie that
he thinks that Adam killed Dixie, then threw in Annie's face that she bashed
in her brother's skull.
When Amanda overheard Jake claiming on the phone to Liza that he had
switched the DNA results, she confronted him immediately. He insisted that
he hadn't lied to her. Jake explained the whole saga of Liza's fake
pregnancy but claimed that he had not given Amanda's son to Liza; he gave a
different boy to Liza. Amanda said she could no longer trust Jake, so Jake
told her to come with him. Jake took Amanda to a cabin in the woods and saw
a nanny tending to a baby. She immediately knew that it was her son.
Liza offered the job to Marissa; she accepted. Liza shared her theory that
Emma or Little Adam may have been a witness. Liza called the child
psychiatrist in D.C. that met with North on the day that North was killed.
The doc told Liza that North had wanted to consult with him about a child
that he wanted to have testify and had asked about whether a child could
inherit its parent's insanity. This convinced Liza that her Emma theory was
spot-on. Liza nuzzled Stuart, who was fussy, and assured him that he was
safe.
Andrew Willis approached Erica at ConFusion. Erica told him to question
Annie. Willis claimed to be interested in clearing Kendall's name. Adam
showed up and encouraged Willis to ignore Erica's "blathering" about Annie's
guilt. Adam broke the news to Erica that Jack had dropped Kendall as a
client and that Liza was Kendall's new attorney. Erica excused herself.
Willis asked Adam if he could follow him back to the mansion and question
him and Annie. Adam had no choice but to agree. Back at home, Willis was
introduced to Scott, JR and Annie and Scott and JR excused themselves. Annie
gave Willis her version of the events of the night of Stuart's murder.
Willis wanted to know why Annie hadn't fled with Emma when she'd had the
chance. "I stayed because of this man," Annie said, giving Adam an
affectionate squeeze. Annie pointed out that she had had no motive to do
away with Adam and that she was insanely in love with Adam. "I feel the same
about her," beamed Adam. Willis made a crack about how Annie might have
realized she had more to gain from Adam by marrying him rather than killing
him. After he left, Annie asked Adam if he truly loved her. He said he did
and they smooched.
Zach and Kendall discussed the likelihood that Emma was an eyewitness to
Stuart's murder. Zach left; Erica arrived to freak out about Liza being
Kendall's new attorney. Kendall defended the hiring but Erica thought that
Liza was just out to get Zach for herself and not to be trusted. Erica's
next visit was to Liza. She told Liza that she wasn't going to get away with
sabotaging Kendall's case, a charge that Liza denied.
Marissa went to ConFusion and asked JR and Scott about the night of the
murder. JR said that he thought Annie did it, then excused himself. Scott
complained that his father had become a footnote in all the talk about
Annie.
Emma told Ryan that she saw Kendall shoot Stuart. "I just remembered," she
claimed. Ryan pressed Emma to reveal everything that she had seen that
night. "Kendall shot him and then she ran away," repeated Emma. Ryan gently
told Emma that they should resume the conversation later and sent her
upstairs. Zach then arrived and told Ryan about North's files and Emma's
possible role in them. Ryan broke the news that Emma saw Kendall shoot
Stuart. Zach thought that Emma was covering for Annie. Ryan believed Emma's
account; Zach believed that Kendall was innocent. Ryan refused to let Zach
interrogate Emma. Zach told Ryan to get Emma out of town tonight. "Or what?"
asked Ryan. Zach didn't answer; he just stormed out. Zach went home and told
Kendall about Emma's claim. Kendall accused him of believing Emma.... Emma
had a nightmare about seeing Kendall shoot Stuart. She then called Annie,
who was thrilled to hear her voice. "Daddy doesn't believe me," Emma
complained. She began to tell Annie about what she had seen but when Ryan
came in, she went silent. Ryan asked if she was talking to her mom.
Friday
At ConFusion, JR and Erica commiserated over Adam's increasing obsession
with Annie. Erica refused to help JR with Adam this time around.
Ryan entered Emma's room, interrupting her call with Annie. Annie was
frantic to see Emma but Adam cautioned that if she left the property, the
police would swarm; Annie was worried that Emma may have seen something
the night that Stuart died. She got out of her ankle monitor and bolted....
Emma begged Ryan to let her see her mommy. Ryan tried to dissuade Emma of
the notion that she had seen Kendall shoot Stu. Liza arrived to question
Emma. Ryan sent his daughter upstairs, then admitted to Liza that Emma
thinks she saw Kendall shoot Stuart. Emma came downstairs and reported that
a man (North) had questioned her after school. Liza left to go talk to Annie
but Adam wouldn't let her in, to conceal Annie's absence.... JR came home to
try to talk some sense into Adam, but Adam insisted that he and Annie are in
love.
Zach and Kendall discussed Emma's claim that she saw Kendall kill Stuart.
After Kendall slapped Zach, thinking that he believed Emma's account, Zach
made it clear that he didn't doubt her innocence at all. Erica arrived and
Kendall went upstairs to check on the boys, with whom she remembered happier
times. Erica laid into Zach for hiring Liza as Kendall's attorney; Zach
defended his choice, then broke the news about Emma. Erica agreed with Zach
that Ryan needed to take Emma out of town and she left to go try to talk
Ryan into departing. Erica arrived at the penthouse and pleaded with Ryan.
Liza called to tip Ryan off to the fact that she suspected that Annie had
fled from Adam's house and might be headed to Emma..... Emma and Annie
reunited when Annie climbed into Emma's room. Emma told Annie, who beseeched
Emma never to tell anyone what she had seen that night, that she had already
told him that Kendall did it. This stunned Annie, who praised Emma. Ryan
knocked on the door.... Zach freaked when Kendall announced her intention to
plead guilty in order to get a reduced sentence. Liza then arrived.
At the country cabin, Amanda had a tearful reunion with her baby son. Jake
was moved by the reunion. The nanny came downstairs and Jake introduced
Amanda to her. Jake explained that, having watched Amanda fall in love with
the baby during her pregnancy, he had decided against giving the baby to
adoptive parents and that she had been watching the tot for Amanda. She was
overjoyed. Jake said that for now, they had to go back to Pine Valley
without the baby. Amanda refused to leave her son, whom she named Trevor,
but Jake convinced her that it was a necessity. After Amanda said a
heartfelt good-bye to the Trevor, she and Jake left. But Amanda changed her
mind as soon as they were out the door. "I can't," she cried. "I won't."
