AMC Week of January 31, 2011
Monday
At the mansion, Marissa and JR missed their court date to console AJ, who begged them not to go through with the divorce.
In her hotel room, Annie blamed Marissa for her woes. Dr. Burke came to see her; Annie got rid of him as quickly as possible.
Erica went to the hospital and Jesse told her that David was missing. Erica sniffed that they shouldn't bother trying to find David.
Erica met up with Caleb at Krystal's and updated him about David's efforts to blackmail her. Jack entered and was bothered that she hadn't let him know she was back in town. Annie came in and nearly lost it when she saw Caleb (knowing this meant the JR/Marissa divorce had been postponed). Caleb saw through her efforts to find out who had postponed the hearing. Krystal approached Annie and told her to stay out of the restaurant. Annie went to the mansion and hallucinated that Marissa and JR were together romantically. Back at the restaurant, Jack vented to Krystal about Erica and Caleb. Krystal went to the mansion and told JR and Marissa about her encounter with Annie at the restaurant. Annie went back to Krystal's with Emma. Ryan entered and hugged Emma. Krystal returned and was displeased to see Annie. Annie left with Emma.
Ryan kidnapped David and brought him to the roof. Ryan tormented him for a bit by threatening to throw him over the side of the roof. David realized that Ryan's game plan was to make the cops think he was trying to escape so that he'd be denied bail. Ryan left and Jesse soon found David on the roof. David insisted to Jesse and Brot that Ryan had set him up; they didn't buy it, especially after a helicopter arrived (its pilot claimed to be there to collect David).
Kendall told Greenlee about her odd thoughts and memories about David. Greens arranged for them both to get massages. Kendall offered to help plan Ryan and Greens's wedding. Caleb and Erica showed up and told the gals that David was missing. She privately told Greens that she was crazy for thinking of having her wedding at Kendall's. Kendall got a text letting her know that David had been apprehended. Erica and Caleb went to ConFusion and he consoled her about her concern for Kendall. Jack entered and saw Caleb's hand on Erica's.
Natalia came by the mansion to talk to JR and Marissa about the "break-in". JR, who had been warned by Dr. Burke that he had reason to be concerned about Annie, went to his girlfriend's hotel room and found the pic of him and JR that she had cut Marissa out of and Marissa's other belongings.
Ryan went to Fusion. Greens suggested that they have the wedding there; he was fine with the idea. Greens asked Ryan what he had done with regards to David.
Tuesday
When confronted by JR, Annie admitted that she took Marissa's stuff. Annie explained that she had wanted to tell JR but didn't think he'd believe that the faux break-in was an accident. JR admitted to Annie that he, not Marissa, had called Dr. Burke. Annie was devastated. JR told Annie that they couldn't be together unless she got help. Annie agreed to see the therapist. JR told Annie how proud he was of her, then left her alone to speak with Dr. Burke. Annie tried to snow Dr. Burke whilst covertly brandishing a weapon.
Jack was upset when he walked in to ConFusion and saw Erica and Caleb in a close moment. He interrupted it to tell them that David was back at the police station.
Kendall told Cara that she had skipped the appointment. Kendall fought off more David visions. Ricky showed up to see how Kendall's return to work had gone. He invited her out to dinner and clarified that it wasn't a date.
Protesting all the while, David got to the prison. Erica and Jack arrived. David insisted that he was innocent of the escape attempt and told Erica that it was just a matter of time before the truth came out. Brot told Jesse that the mayor needed a decision about who he was firing, him or Natalia, but Jesse said he was busy. Frustrated, Brot hastily wrote a letter of resignation behind Jesse's back. David was thrown behind bars and Marissa arrived to tell David that she would no longer represent her. He told his daughter that Ryan had set him up and begged her to believe him. When Jesse entered, Marissa advocated for her client. He thanked her for believing in him. David then used his one phone call to dial up Kendall. Kendall went to see David. A cryptic conversation ensued and Kendall was about to leave when she flashed back to pulling the trigger. Kendall collapsed.
Brot went to ConFusion to meet up with Nat, who told him that she had landed a cop job in Philly. Nat thought it was the perfect solution to their troubles but Brot sighed that he had just quit. They went to the station, where Jesse revealed that he had intercepted Brot's letter. Nat told Jesse about her new gig.
Erica and Caleb went to Krystal's to discuss the Kendall/David situation. Jack again walked in on them in a close moment and lost his temper with Erica before storming out. Erica followed him and told Jack that what was going on with Caleb had only to do with Kendall, not romantic flickerings between them. Jack demanded an explanation and Erica admitted that Kendall shot David. Jack wanted to know why Erica hadn't told him sooner and accused her of not trusting him.
Caleb made a call advocating for Jack's law license to be reinstated.
Tad and JR spoke about Annie at ConFusion. Tad advised JR to cut Annie loose. JR refused to abandon Annie. Marissa showed up; Tad left. JR returned Marissa's bracelet and purse to her, claiming to have found them at a pawn shop. Marissa didn't seem to buy it.
Wednesday
David tried to help Kendall when she collapsed outside his cell. Greenlee showed up and accused David of doing something to her friend. Jesse and Greenlee worked to revive Kendall. David got Jesse to unlock his cell so he could treat Kendall.
On the rooftop, Erica tried to explain to Jack why she hadn't told him the truth about Kendall. Erica reminded Jack that he had told the truth at Bianca's custody trial, which cost her rights to her child. Jack believed that Kendall needed to know the truth. Erica insisted that she feels nothing romantic toward Caleb. Greens called to tell Jack about Kendall.
Scott brought flowers to Madison at ConFusion. Bianca beamed at the sight. Madison and Scott discussed her growing belly. He left to go grab her some grub. Binks probed Madison about Scott.
To aid in his investigation, Cara brought a suspect list to Tad at ConFusion. He didn't want her help but she insisted. Jake showed up and asked Tad not to tell Cara anything more about the investigation. Ryan and arrived to have prewedding drinks with the Martin boys. Frankie made a pointed comment at Ryan as Scott sidled up. Scott ran interference, talking Frankie down. Mad sauntered in. Ryan got word of Kendall's collapse. Mad offered to drive him to the hospital. On the drive, they did some walking down memory lane.
Griffin was frustrated to learn that Kendall hadn't shown up for her appointment and left her a message quitting as her doctor. He vented about Kendall to Cara. Kendall, trailed by David, was brought into the hospital. Erica, Jack and Bianca showed up and Greens told them that David had resuscitated Kendall. Griffin ordered David out of Kendall's room. Ryan and Madison entered the waiting room and Mad winced at the sight of Ryan and Greenlee together. When Scott appeared, Mad asked him to take her back to his place. Ricky entered the waiting room to offer his support. Griffin told Jack and Erica that Kendall had an aneurysm that required surgery. Griffin explained the risks and urged Erica to talk to her daughter. Erica overheard a nurse saying that David was demanding to see Kendall. Griffin went into Kendall's room and gave her a stern talking-to about her health. Erica approached David, who wanted to be thanked for saving Kendall's life. Erica asked the prison guard to give them a moment. David told Erica that she was running out of time to help him in exchange for her silence about Kendall. Kendall begged Griffin to give her time before surgery but Griff made it clear that she couldn't afford it. Griffin questioned whether Kendall truly wanted to live.
Jake made tweaks to the hospital schedule to keep Cara away from infectious diseases. Cara noticed and berated Jake, upset that he was treating her differently now that he knew about her leukemia.
Scott and Madison necked at his place.
Thursday
Cara let it slip to Tad that she still loves Jake; he promised to keep her secret.
Annie told JR that her meeting with Dr. Burke had gone well. He asked her to wait out back while he met with Marissa. Marissa arrived to discuss the custody arrangement, and admitted to JR that she thought Annie had something to do with the robbery.
Annie brought Emma to Krystal's to give him to Ryan, but Ryan wanted to switch nights because of Kendall's hospitalization. Annie flipped so Ryan agreed to watch Ems. Brandishing a knife, Annie showed up at the Chandler house and spied on a JR/Marissa hug. Marissa went to leave but warned JR to be careful regarding Annie. JR fetched Annie from outside and an argument ensued despite the fact that JR and Marissa's divorce had been finalized.
Scott put the brakes on with Madison, knowing she was hurting over Ryan. Scott and Madison went to the Slater house to watch the boys. Ryan showed up with Emma, who ran into Mad's arms. Scott and Madison said it was fine for Ryan to leave Emma in their care. Babysitting drew Scott and Mad closer.
Erica went to see Kendall, who was scared of her imminent surgery and still being besieged by flashbacks of shooting David that she couldn't quite understand. Erica tried to get Kendall to drop the whole David thing. Cara wanted Griffin to admit to caring for Kendall. Kendall told Griff she wasn't ready for the surgery and he tried to convince her to go through with it. Kendall wept that she couldn't trust Griffin because she had trusted Zach not to leave her and he let her down. Cara arrived with some stuff from home, including a picture drawn by the boys. Cara took Griffin aside and told Kendall that he had to make her trust him. Heeding his sister's advice, he took Kendall into his confidence, confessing that he was the one who'd been stealing drugs from the hospital, sending them to war-torn countries in need. She promised to keep his secret and consented to the surgery.
Cara bumped into Tad again at Krystal's. Tad joined her at her table.
In the waiting room, Erica thanked Jack for supporting her. When she saw David lounging in a chair, she went ballistic on the guard. Jack ushered her out, then got a mysterious call. David demanded to see Kendall but Ryan's arrival put the kibosh on that. Kendall heard Ryan and David bickering in the hallway, triggering her memory of what really happened that night on the roof. "I'm the one who shot David!" she gasped.
Friday
Annie and JR bickered over the state of their relationship. She asked him if he loves her. In the hallway, Colby told Asher that she was heading to Chicago to see Adam. Before she left, Annie eavesdropped on JR and Annie’s conversation and realized that they were together. Annie tore off as Colby hid.
Brot and Natalia met up at Krystal’s for her good-bye party and he told the crowd that he was crazy about Nat. Jesse, Randi and Frankie arrived. Brot gave Nat a going-away present: his military medal. The group toasted to Jesse and Angie’s baby girl-to-be. Once alone again, Brot and Natalia had an emotional talk about what they meant to each other. “I love you,” she told him.
Cara gave Jake a hard time about thinking she’s too fragile to work around germs. Cara ended up saying a little too much about how much Jake means to her and they reminisced about their time in Africa. Jake promised not to be too protective of her.
Kendall remembered shooting David. Griffin entered and Kendall told him that she was the shooter. He tried to keep her calm and sedated her. Kendall was desperate to see Erica but Griffin told her there’d be time for that after the surgery. Kendall quickly grew woozy from the sedative. Griffin exited so that she could rest, but after having some more flashbacks, Kendall dragged herself out of bed, ripped the tubes out of her arms and took off. Griffin was horrified to find her missing. Jake called security. Kendall walked through the woods calling for Erica and collapsed to the ground. Griffin got her on her cell phone and promised that they would rescue her. She was in great pain. Jake and Cara joined Griffin a Griffin-driven helicopter. They searched for her in the woods and Griffin located her.
Annie went to the cottage and was confused to find it filled with lit candles. She hallucinated that a sexily-dressed Marissa was there, taunting her. JR arrived. Annie wept to him and he tried to comfort her. He told her that he loves her. Colby showed up and lurked outside. JR begged Annie to go back to the house to meet with Dr. Burke. She agreed when he promised to be there with her. JR got a call from Asher alerting him to a crisis at work, so JR left. Colby then revealed herself and told Annie she knows that Annie assaulted Marissa and lied to the cops. Colby showed Annie that she’d taped her confession. Annie attacked her and handcuffed her to a table. Annie left Colby to make her appointment. Back at the house, Dr. Burke and JR discussed Annie. Annie raced to the mansion and hallucinated that Marissa was in the car with her. Jake, Cara, Griffin and Kendall sped toward the hospital in the ambulance. The vehicles crashed into each other.
