All My Children Recaps

AMC Week of January 18, 2010

Monday

Greenlee forced David to admit that Trevor isn't his biological son. She tried to convince David to do the right thing and reveal the truth to Jake and Amanda but he adamantly refused, explaining how desperately he wants children and a family. David handed his phone to Greens and challenged her to expose his deception. Back in Pine Valley, Jake and JR both have their DNA tested to see if either of them are Trevor's father. JR told Jake that Jake will always be the baby's father, no matter what the outcome of the DNA testing. Angie got the test results and informed Jake, Amanda, JR and Marissa that David is definitely not the father.

Erica opened up to Ryan about how her work at Fusion seems meaningless after her trip to Africa. Randi and Madison chatted and Madison came up with the idea of a Fusion line benefiting charities like the Miranda Center. As a nice gesture to Randi, Madison insisted that Randi take credit for the idea when Erica immediately embraces it. Erica told Ryan that she feels more alive when she's with him and admited that's what she loves about him.

Tuesday

Erica told Ryan that she loves how alive he makes her feel. She haltingly made it clear that she wasn't saying, "I love you." Ryan phoned Randi, who wished him a happy birthday. Erica was flabbergasted to realize the significance of the day. Ryan turned down the idea of celebrating his birthday and left. Opal then summoned Erica to Ryan's. Erica was mortified when she arrived to see that Opal had set up a lavishly romantic birthday spread for Ryan. Opal tried to get Erica to get over her hang-ups and embrace her relationship with Ryan.

Adam's loved ones hovered over him as he returned home from getting his new pacemaker. Annie escorted him upstairs, then returned to the foyer to chastise Colby for suggesting that Adam refrain from sex until his strength has returned. Scott tried to smooth things over. When Annie left to tend to Emma, Scott lambasted Colby for her interference. Emma showed Annie what she had made for Ryan's birthday. Annie had Emma call Ryan to invite him over. Emma ran into her daddy's arms. Ryan thanked Annie for allowing the visit. After Ryan left, Annie fretted to Scott about Adam's health and he tried to reassure her. Adam came downstairs and said that he was in tip-top shape. Scott excused himself; Colby demanded to know what he and Annie had been talking about. Annie told Adam about Colby's suggestion that she stay in the guest room, which Adam refused, telling Annie that he couldn't live without her. Adam then phoned Barry and, as Annie eavesdropped, requested to meet to update his estate plan.

Ryan returned to Fusion and Madison asked him if he was okay. He insisted that he was fine but she called him out for having gotten tipsy at ConFusion. He agreed to let her drive him home. Ryan probed Madison about why she hadn't asked about catching him in a clinch with Erica. She said she thought he and Erica made a great team and didn't understand why they were hiding their relationship. When Ryan got home, he was happily overwhelmed by the romantic atmosphere Opal and Erica had created. Ryan thanked Erica for making the day so special.

David challenged Greenlee to call Pine Valley to reveal all the lies he has told (chiefly, that he is Trevor's father). "I can't," she said, noting that she owed him for saving her life. Still, Greens pressed David to come clean. After David left, Greens chatted with Nurse Gayle. With a start, Greens realized that today was Ryan's birthday and recalled last year's celebration with Ryan and Emma. After a nap, Greens awoke and called out to Gayle because she had feelings in her legs again. "That's the most beautiful thing I've ever felt!" she chirped. Greens's surgeon said that she was ready to begin physical therapy.

Jake and Amanda celebrated the news that David had been ruled out as Trevor's biodad. Marissa and JR, and Amanda and Jake, realized that it was now between JR and Jake. Angie said that the lab results were in. Angie announced, "Jake, you are Trevor's father." The Martins began to weep with joy. JR shook Jake's hand and congratulated him. "I have a son!" exulted Jake. After Jake, Amanda and Trevor left, JR excused himself suddenly. Marissa told Angie that she thinks JR would not have minded if he had turned out to be the dad.... Jake, Amanda and Trevor arrived home and celebrated.... Angie and Marissa's conversation was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of David. Marissa confronted her father about whether he had gone to Malaysia. He copped to lying and said he was there to tell her that he had faked his fatal blood disease. He begged her to find it in her heart to forgive him; she wasn't sure that she could. David then went to see the Martins. Amanda smacked him across the face. As David tried to explain that he was there to apologize, Jake decked him.

JR came by the house and saw Colby. He told her he had just come to see the house to remember what it felt like to have a father. She pleaded with him to come inside. He declined.

Wednesday

Amanda stopped Jake from beating David to a pulp. David took off, followed by Jake.

Brot and Natalia were kept busy investigating a string of break-ins. At Wildwind, they were baffled by the valuables that the perp had opted not to take. David returned home and learned that he'd had an intruder. Brot and Natalia took off when they got a report of a stolen vehicle at the Chandler manse. David stitched up his own wound and gazed at a photo gallery of his kids. He picked up a picture of Trevor and Amanda and looked pained.

Brot and Natalia questioned Colby about her missing vehicle. They bolted when they got word of a break-in at ConFusion, where again the perp left empty-handed. Brot found Colby's abandoned car. The perp had left behind a military-style belt that had traces of blood on it.

At the Martin house, a frisky Tad and Liza encountered an equally frisky Krystal and Rob. Krystal escorted Rob out and they kissed good night. Amanda called Tad, worried about Jake, who then sauntered in. Jake made it clear to Tad that he planned to get rid of David once and for all. Tad sent Krystal off to tell Amanda where Jake was. Jake and Liza discussed using the threat of a civil suit to drive David out of town. Tad warned Jake not to waste his time and energy on David. Krystal went over to Amanda's and Amanda confided her fears about what will happen if Jake can't drop his vendetta against David. Krystal gave Amanda a pep talk, assuring her that she and Jake are forever. Krystal returned home and updated Tad on her conversation with Amanda. Liza saw Krystal and Tad hugging each other and looked alarmed.

JR consoled Marissa, who was upset over David's deceptions. They made love. Later, Little Adam joined them for some family time. JR then assured Marissa that he was going to beat his disease. Marissa told JR she was ready to have a baby. He wanted to wait to try until he was done with chemo.

David got a call from Gayle but hung up when Liza entered. Liza informed David of Jake's plan to file a civil suit. David purported not to care anymore, then realized that what Jake really wanted was for him to agree to leave town. Liza urged him to accept Jake's terms but he told her to "do whatever she needed to do," then ordered her to leave. David went back to Amanda's and told her that his feelings for her and for Trevor had been totally real. When Jake entered, David told them both that he was leaving town. "This is good-bye," he claimed.

Thursday

While asleep, Ryan dreamt of Greenlee ... until he heard Erica's voice and woke up to find Erica standing over him with two mugs of coffee. He looked at the red heart on the mug she handed him and was clearly still thinking of Greenlee. Erica went to take a shower, and Ryan was thrilled to receive a visit from Emma. After sharing a civil exchange with his ex-wife, he kindly asked Annie to call next time she's dropping by. Once Annie was gone, Erica sneaked downstairs and said she thought Annie would never leave.

Colby and JR met up at ConFusion and ran into Adam, who was meeting with his lawyer. Colby expressed her fear to JR that Annie will inherit everything if their father dies. Annie showed up next and was surprised to see Adam's lawyer there. Adam dismissed Barry and Annie immediately wanted to know what he's up to. Adam explained that he'd like to have a family get-together and was vague about the reason, which irked Annie. Adam told JR and Colby to expect an invite from him, because he has a big announcement to make. Annie returned to the mansion and told Scott about Adam's cryptic news. Adam had to laugh when he walked in on Annie in Scott's arms, after she'd just tripped. Annie immediately regained her composure, then begged Adam to reveal why they're having dinner that night. Adam wouldn't say a word.

Liza joined Tad for breakfast and informed him that she'll have Trevor's last name legally changed in no time. Tad thanked her for being so on the ball and asked why she didn't come by last night. She explained that she thought she saw him and Krystal having a "moment or something," but he insisted nothing was going on. Liza was afraid she'd just ruined her chances with Tad, but he assured her that's not the case.

Amanda and Jake happily woke up together and rejoiced at the idea of David being out of their lives. They headed over to Wildwind and were surprised to find boxes and movers all over the place, then met up with Liza and Tad to report their findings. Jake was still threatened by Hayward, near or far, but Amanda told him to let it go. When Tad and Liza were alone again, Tad playfully asked, "Your place or mine?"

David went to check on Greenlee and was stunned to see her standing on her own for the first time. Seeing the downtrodden look on his face, she assumed his plan to tell the truth about Trevor didn't go so well. He assured her that he's not mad at Greenlee for urging him to come clean and explained that Jake and Amanda already had DNA tests run on the baby. Greenlee said she could see that what David did was his twisted way of showing love. When David claimed he's not going back to Pine Valley anytime soon, Greenlee refused to go there without him. David challenged his patient to walk on her own, but she could barely get past one step. On the second try, however, she took a few more steps. Afterward, Greenlee told David she can't do this without him.

Erica arrived late to Fusion, while Ryan was at home thinking about Greenlee giving him that heart mug. Emma told Ryan she likes his Valentine's Day mug, so he handed it over to her and told her to "go nuts." Later at Fusion, Ryan suggested to Erica that they arrange a romantic getaway. Erica asked why they'd go away on the anniversary of Greenlee's death.

Back at home with Amanda and Trevor, Jake couldn't help but look out the window, fearing that David was still out there somewhere to come back and ruin their lives again.

Friday

A dolled up Marissa met JR at Confusion, who explained he was taking her to a special dinner. "Family dinner at my father's. Fireworks optional," he cracked.

At Adam's mansion, Annie demanded to know what was going on, but Adam said she and Scott would have to wait until everyone arrived. Colby came back in the house and greeted her dad. She then went into the living room and asked Annie for a word alone with her. Colby asked if she should be "concerned" about the dinner that evening. Annie said no, so Colby asked if Annie should be concerned. An uncomfortable Annie pretended to choke, then excused herself to get water. JR and Marissa arrived. JR asked Scott if he had missed the "bloodletting." Barry arrived with papers, which piqued Annie's interest. She followed him outside but he didn't share any of the details of Adam's plans. Back inside, Adam excused himself to do work, promising to get to the "good stuff" later. While Adam was gone, JR tried to goad Annie about the dinner. They argued. Adam listened in, then entered the room. He explained he had a trust drawn up that was effective immediately and handed out papers to each that required them to fulfill certain obligations in order to be handsomely rewarded. Hayley had already completed hers and Skye would gets her if she ever returned, he added. Colby had to find a quality man and settle down to get a windfall. "Are you trying to arrange a marriage for her?" JR exploded. Adam explained that he was trying to ensure that Colby wouldn't make the same mistakes he did. He insisted that he loved all of them and wanted them to be happy. Scott had a year to make the company profitable, with JR by his side. "If you fail, you're not getting anything," Adam noted. He asked Marissa and JR to move in with him. Annie realized that she wasn't in the trust, so Adam gave her a separate copy. "Oh, my God," she said after she read her part.

Tad and Liza made out in the entrance to her pad. He wanted to get some wine, but she said she would make him forget about a "silly drink" and turned out the lights, put music on, took her hair down and began to strip for him. Her hand got caught in her sleeve, which made Tad laugh. "Congratulations, you just laughed your way out of this rendezvous," she told him. Tad tried to get her back in the mood, insisting he was laughing at the situation, not her. He removed his jacket, adopted a French accent and tried to woo her again. It worked; they wound up on the couch — then falling off. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door: It was Bailey. Tad and Liza quickly redressed. Bailey said her apartment was too loud and asked if she could crash there. Liza got called away, so Tad awkwardly said he would stay with Bailey. Liza shot him a look, then left. Once alone, Bailey told him that it was clear Liza wanted Tad to go with her. Tad hurried out to follow Liza, who was waiting for him. "So where are we going?" she asked. "I know the perfect place," he replied.

Ryan asked Erica to go away with him. She said she wanted to, but pointed out that they would be gone on Valentine's Day, which was a notable day for him and Greenlee and she wondered if he was trying to avoid the painful memory of her death. He assured her he was thinking of the future, not the past. She thanked him for sharing his feelings, then headed out to meet Opal. They made plans to meet later. Opal and Erica went to Confusion for a drink. Opal noted she thought it was a sin that Erica kept her feelings bottled up inside and demanded that she 'fess up about what was going on with Ryan. Erica scoffed that Opal was too focused on gossip, then tried to make Opal understand why she tried to keep her life private. Opal understood.

At Fusion, Madison caught Ryan looking at a photo of Greenlee and noted how beautiful she was. They talked about Greenlee a bit and the history of Fusion. After Madison left, Ryan looked again at the picture, then went to meet Erica at Confusion.

At the hospital, David assured Greenlee that she would be fine on her own. She didn't understand why he was pushing her away and said he couldn't scare her off. He explained that if she returned to PV with him by her side, it would be a big strike against her. "Get used to it; I'm already gone," he told her and walked out. She then did some physical therapy. After, the therapist turned on the TV. Coincidentally, there was Erica, talking about Fusion's new line, Miranda.
Gayle came in and asked why the TV was on after Dr. Hayward didn't want Greenlee distracted. Greenlee agreed and asked to take the TV out. Gayle apologized for overreacting earlier. Greenlee agreed it was the right thing to do because she had to stay focused on getting better. She closed her eyes and dreamed of returning to work and unseating Erica. David came in and heard her murmuring Ryan's name.

Tad and Liza went to Opal's, who came home and interrupted them. Liza quickly hid but let out a laugh when Tad tried to explain what he had done that night. Opal noted that she was probably supposed to ignore the laugh and excused herself. They went upstairs and finally got busy.
