AMC Week of February 7, 2011
Monday
While hallucinating about Marissa, Annie lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the ambulance transporting Cara, Jake, Griffin and Kendall. Annie came to and panicked. Griffin worked to revive Kendall. Kendall’s situation was dire and Griff realized they had to operate then and there. He obtained Kendall’s woozy consent. Kendall begged Griffin to make sure, in the event of her death, that people knew she shot David. He promised her that she wouldn’t die. The ambulance couldn’t maintain power. They realized the only way to do the surgery was to connect via monitor to the hospital, where another doctor could serve as Griffin’s eyes.
At the hospital, Jesse broke the news to Erica, Jack and Bianca that Kendall had left. Caleb showed up and Jack observed him trying to keep Erica calm. After speaking to Griffin, Jesse told Kendall’s family that Griff insisted on David performing the surgery. Erica gave her assent. David was delighted to be charged with the mission of saving Kendall’s life and Erica promised to call the governor on David’s behalf. The surgery got underway, with Erica and Bianca watching David guide Griffin (attended by Cara and Jake) through the difficult, touch-and-go procedure. Erica stole away to thank Caleb for getting his license reinstated. Bianca picked up on the strangeness between Jack and Erica, which Jack denied. Erica told Caleb that he was making things hard for her and Jack and she asked him to walk away.
At the mansion, JR told Dr. Burke that he was worried about Annie’s mental state. Hallucinating all the while, Annie made her way to the house. She claimed that she had scraped her face falling on the ice. Annie slipped that she had never meant to hurt anybody. She covered, then said she had to run out for a minute. JR told Asher he was leaving town for a few days, going to the cottage with Annie.
Colby, handcuffed at the cabin, struggled to get to Annie’s phone. She succeeded just as Annie entered. Annie grabbed the phone. JR got a text from Annie’s phone indicating a mayday situation at the cottage and was a little weirded out. He told Ash that he was leaving for the cottage.
Post-surgery, Jesse put David back in handcuffs. Jake and Cara climbed out of the ambulance and he spied her wedding ring around her neck. She looked mortified. A relieved Griffin told Kendall that she was good as gold. In her drugged-up state, she told Griffin, “I love you.”
Tuesday
David protested Jesse's efforts to haul him back to jail. Jack deflected Bianca's questions about his bad mood. Caleb told Erica it was his turn to be there for her. Erica asked Jesse not to take David to jail. Erica told David she knows he cares about Kendall.
Jake confronted Cara about still having her wedding ring. She got upset and fled. They reunited at the hospital and Cara told Jake that she wasn't trying to bust up his marriage. Jake pushed her into confessing that she had left him to protect him and she still loves him. Amanda showed up and threw her arms around Jake, relieved that he was okay after the ambulance crash. Cara left the room.
Kendall told Griffin that Zach was trying to talk to her, then wept that he was gone. Griffin had an emotional response to Kendall's grief. Kendall arrived at the hospital and Erica asked David to take care of her daughter. When Erica got permission to visit Kendall, Kendall told her that she remembered shooting David. Kendall filled in Erica about her visit from Zach. Ricky came to visit. Erica slipped out to make sure David wouldn't breathe a word about Kendall shooting him if Erica secured his release. David promised. Jesse got a call from the governor and told David that the governor wanted to meet with him (David) in the morning. Jack overheard and gasped. He immediately sensed that Erica had something to do with it. She admitted it. He was livid and walked out on her over Erica's protests. Bianca and Jack saw them fighting. Caleb offered her comfort; she rebuffed him. Erica broke down crying. In his jail cell, David smiled, certain he would soon be free.
Griffin and Cara caught up. Griff admitted to having gotten emotionally involved with Kendall. Cara told Griff that Jake had seen the ring. Cara then saw Jake in the hall and said they needed to speak. Cara told Jake that she left him because his life had been threatened by enemies she accrued working in the Sudan. She explained that Griffin had whisked her off into hiding and she had tried to forget him, but had been unable to. Meanwhile, Griffin watched Kendall sleep and held her hand. She came to and smiled at him. "I know your secret," she murmured. "I know you care."
Amanda brought Trevor to see his daddy. Cara fingered her wedding ring.
Wednesday
Annie told Colby that she had covered for her absence with JR and Adam. Colby broke down crying.
JR told Asher that he was taking Annie away. Asher left a message for Colby but was suspicious because Annie's text "from Colby" had given him conflicting info about her destination. Tad came by the mansion to see JR and told JR that his vehicle had crashed into Kendall. Tad urged JR to go to the police. Tad realized that Annie was driving the car and begged JR to come to his senses regarding his lover. JR blamed himself for Annie's downward spiral. JR called Annie, who was struggling physically with Colby, and said he was coming to see her. She begged him not to and said she'd go to him. Before leaving, Annie told Colby she'd ground up sleeping pils into her water. Annie went to the mansion but just then, JR called Asher from the cottage, where he'd found Colby. Colby thanked Asher for saving her but told him she'd realized that no guy could save her life; she had to do it. Back at the house, JR covered the nature of Asher's call in front of Annie.
Ryan told Greenlee he understood if she wanted to postpone their nups until Kendall was better. David called Greenlee and told her that he'd been pardoned by the governor. Greens and Ryan went to the station, where David explained that as part of his deal with the governor, he was offering to sell her his stake in the hospital. He asked her to help him get his medical license reinstated. David sat down with Liza and admitted that he hoped Greens would be miserable without him.
Jake and Cara discussed her confessions about the end of their marriage. Jake told Tad about the conversation with Cara, which Jake downplayed the significance of.
Madison paid a visit to Scott at the hospital. Jake borderline accused Scott of being behind the stolen drugs. Mad gave Scott an alibi.
Kendall called Griffin out about caring for his patients. Ricky arrived with flowers; Griff exited. Kendall was grateful for Ricky's visit. Griff and Ricky ran into each other at Krystal's. Griffin grilled Ricky about his intentions toward Kendall.
Ryan and Greenlee went to see Kendall. She refused to let them postpone the wedding. Madison entered, then ran out. Greens followed her but paused to talk to Scott about Madison. Scott went to ConFusion and joined Madison at her table. As per Greenlee's wishes, he asked her to spend Valentine's Day with him. Scott admitted that Greens had told him that she had the day off. Mad called Fusion to cancel her day off.
Griffin returned to the hospital and found Kendall in tears. Ryan met with Ricky to plan his vows. Greens grinned as she stroked her wedding dress.
Thursday
Ryan called his bride to chat before heading to the altar. She wondered if it would bring them bad luck. Erica and Jack discussed their relationship and not going to the wedding together. Reverend Torres asked when they are setting their own wedding date. They stalled, adding that they've been too busy to think about it. Erica later told Jack that they're going through a tough time, but they'll get through it because they love each other.
At ConFusion, Scott stopped by to take Madison out and called her out on
distracting herself from Ryan and Greenlee's wedding with work. She took a rain check on his offer and was clearly down in the dumps about her own situation on Valentine's Day.... Amanda and Jake met to pay
Greenlee and Ryan a visit before the wedding. Jake flashed back to his
moment with Cara. Later, Amanda stopped by to give Greens something new (a necklace from Ryan), old (borrowed (earrings Zach gave to Kendall) and blue (a gumball from Spike). Jake went to see Ryan. They prepped Spike to be the ring bearer. They were happy they opted not to go to the wedding and shared a sexy Valentine's moment together.
Annie was excited about her big Valentine's dinner with JR, who struggled to tell Annie that she needs help. Tad was lurking nearby, hoping JR had done it. JR promised to tell her after their big date. Tad was concerned things wouldn't go as planned and he needs a plan B. Meanwhile, Annie had another hallucination of Marissa taunting her. Annie was convinced that JR was going to propose to her that night and she would get everything she'd ever wanted. She ran downstairs all dolled up; Tad rushed off. JR finally confronted Annie about driving the car that hit the ambulance carrying Kendall, but she refused to talk about it. JR promised not to let anything bad happen to her. Then there was a knock at the door. It was the police. Annie panicked; Brot took JR in for questioning. JR called Tad for help. Annie searched the house for an engagement ring and found the Oak Haven admission forms, believing Marissa was responsible. She lost it.
Bianca and Caleb ran into each other at Krystal's. Bianca was beyond excited about Reese's visit. She invited Caleb to her big family dinner so he could meet her. Erica showed up and told Bianca she was doing Greens a favor by not going to the ceremony. Erica then thanked Caleb for helping her protect Kendall and wanted to make it up to him. He told her just to live her life and be happy. He wasn't interested in hearing about her problems with Jack.
Greens caught Madison fondling her wedding bouquet on the patio at
ConFusion. Mad assured her she's fine and rushed off, leaving her phone
behind. Later, Madison was frazzled when she realized what she'd done; Scott helped her by calling her phone, which Emma found on the patio. Mad tried to retrieve her phone on the sly but had a cramp. Ryan tended to her. Greens showed up just in time to spill that Madison is pregnant.
Marissa showed up to talk to JR. Annie, still on a rampage, told her that
he's in the attic. She knocked Marissa out with a candlestick. At the
station, Brot interrogated JR. He was outraged and got arrested.... Jack
greeted Greenlee and was thrilled for her big day, despite Erica's absence.
They shared a loving father/daughter moment. Greens got a call that the
caterer has food poisoning. Jack agreed to take care of the situation.
