Ryan struggled with the idea that he had lost 4 years of his life. He told
Annie he was going to go for a walk by himself. Meanwhile, Angie checked on
Greenlee who had stabilized. She filled everyone in — they had reinforced her
coma, but they hoped she would come around. Angie promised them she was
going to fight to save Greenlee. Erica and Jack went to sit in the chapel.
Erica assured him that Greenlee was going to be ok. Jack appreciated her
support. Alone with Greenlee, Aidan admitted he was scared. A nurse informed
Kendall there was a call for her. It was Amanda telling her there was a book
party, and Kendall told her she wasn't going to be there. After she hung up,
Ryan walked by. He grabbed her and hugged her, and told her how much he'd
missed her, and how beautiful she looked. She told him about Greenlee, and
he was confused. She decided they were going to go for a walk so he could
tell her what was going on with him. She filled him in on Greenlee's
situation, and told him they should get coffee for everyone — Zach and Aidan.
He didn't know who Zach was. When she told him Zach was her husband he was
shocked to hear that she had married someone else. Kendall was very
confused, and Ryan insisted he take her to Greenlee. Clearly worried about
him, Kendall hugged Ryan, who told her he loved her after he flashed back on
a moment they shared years ago. Kendall wondered if he had been doing drugs,
but he promised to fill her in later after she took him to see Greenlee.
Meanwhile, Annie tried to avoid telling Zach what happened to Ryan, but he
managed to get it out of her. Annie pointed out that 4 years ago Ryan was
engaged to Kendall. Zach introduced her to Angie, who had a new idea: using
the poison to fight the poison.
Tad spotted Jesse outside Frankie's room and chased him into the hall but he
was gone. He went back into Frankie's room and talked out loud to Jesse.
Angie walked in and overheard him. Tad explained he just had Jesse on the
brain lately. Angie confided her fears and stresses to Tad. Later, Angie
filled Joe in on her new plan — mixing the antidote with blood. They rushed
into Greenlee's room to try it out. Her family watched nervously, and Ryan
sat next to her and told her how much everyone loved her. Zach walked in
just as Kendall told Ryan how nice what he said was. Ryan watched as Kendall
and Zach embraced. Angie went to Frankie's room next and gave him the same
treatment. She noticed positive results almost immediately, and asked Joe to
watch him while she went to check on Greenlee. Back in Greenlee's room, she
was opening her eyes. Everyone greeted her and expressed their happiness
that she was alright. Tad and Joe watched as Frankie did the same. Angie was
overjoyed to find her son awake. Outside Greenlee's room, Annie awkwardly
hugged Ryan. Down the hall, Zach filled Kendall in on Ryan's condition.
Out in the parking lot, Tad called Krystal as he unlocked his car. After he
hung up, a man approached him: Jesse.
Tuesday
At the hospital, Angie sat by Frankie's bedside and announced he was going to be fine. Frankie apologized for disappearing the way he had, and mother and son embraced. In another room, Greenlee awoke as Aidan stroked her face. Once she told him she felt fine, they started kissing. Angie checked on Greenlee and explained how God sent her back to Pine Valley to save her son. Greenlee asked about Frankie's dad. Angie explained Jesse had died years ago in this very hospital, but she still felt his presence strongly. When Angie returned to Frankie's room, she put her head down on his bed, drifted off to sleep, and dreamt about Jesse. Angie woke up screaming, and Frankie realized she'd been dreaming about his father. He encouraged his mom to go get some fresh air. Angie left, promising she'd be back to check on him.
"You died 20 years ago in this hospital," blurted Tad, who was shocked to come face-to-face with his old pal, Jesse. Jesse explained he'd come back to tell Frankie he loves him and asked Tad to look out for Angie, who'd lost both him and their son. Tad told Jesse that Frankie survived and insisted they tell Angie and Frankie immediately that Jesse was alive. Jesse insisted they couldn't breathe a word to anyone, or Angie and Frankie's lives would be in jeopardy. Tad pressed Jesse to 'fess up. Jesse stood pat. He wouldn't be pretending to be dead if there wasn't a damned good reason. Jesse begged Tad to keep this secret for the sake of his family. Tad got out of Jesse's car as Angie approached and called out to him. Angie asked who the person in the car was. "Just an old friend," responded Tad, heeding Jesse's warning.
In an awkward moment, Ryan confessed to Kendall, Annie and Zach that he still felt like it was 2004 and he was engaged to and in love with Kendall. Joe arrived and told Ryan and Annie that Ryan had dissociative amnesia. There was no physical damage to his brain. Joe suggested Ryan see a psychiatrist. Ryan asked the chances his condition would remain permanent. Sadly, Joe couldn't give him an answer. He'd never encountered a case like this in all his years of practice. Ryan was frustrated, but Annie vowed they'd get through this together. "We are worth fighting for," she promised. Ryan asked for some time alone to sort things out. Annie agreed to give him space, noting she'd be there when he came home.
Kendall stopped by to visit Greenlee, saying how glad she was to have her back. Kendall's phone rang. She answered it and gasped, "Oh my God! The book launch." Kendall tried to get out of going, explaining that she was visiting a friend in the hospital. Greenlee grabbed the phone away and said Kendall was on her way. Then, she pushed her pal out the door, figuratively.
Zach filled Aidan in on the situation with Ryan. He said he'd do what he could to make Ryan remember the last four years and make sure he stayed away from his wife! Aidan returned to Greenlee's bedside, leaving to fetch her some treats when Zach arrived. Greenlee wondered what was going on. Kendall and Aidan had both been "acting weird." Zach filled her in on Ryan's amnesia. Greenlee reminded Zach of the history between Kendall and Ryan, noting the deep connection and strong feelings between them. Meanwhile, Aidan told Annie how sorry he was about Ryan's condition. Aidan swore he never saw Ryan happier than when he was with Annie.
Kendall arrived at the launch party for Charm. She answered reporters' questions and autographed copies of her book for her adoring fans. Unbeknownst to Kendall, Ryan showed up and was surprised to learn his ex had written a book. Later, Amanda told Kendall that Ryan had been there and headed up to the roof. Kendall followed him upstairs. Alone, Ryan told Kendall this was the place they'd reconnected and that she should be with him.
Wednesday
Adam eavesdropped on JR through the listening device he planted in JR's ring. Babe told JR she didn't want Little A spending time with Adam. JR said he had to; they couldn't arouse Adam's suspicions. Krystal arrived with Little A, and once Babe left with him, Krystal and JR discussed what a snake Adam was. Adam seethed, realizing his son was sneaking into his house to spy on him for Tad. Adam complained out loud, as Erica interrupted and asked if Adam was certifiable or just up to something. Erica sat down and the two exes bantered back and forth about their love lives. Then, Erica told Adam she was thinking about buying a new house and asked about the riverfront condos he owned. Adam wondered if she was looking for "the ex- wife discount." She was.
"Name your price," said Adam. Erica wrote it down and Adam agreed. Erica kissed Adam goodbye, then phoned her accountant and told him she wanted to buy the condo. Later, the accountant called back and announced there was a problem: the account Erica wanted to use to make the purchase had been frozen by the feds!
Babe brought Little Adam to JR and they prepared to head over to Adam's house, while Krystal talked to Babe about Richie, after finding his picture in Babe's pocket. Babe defended her ex-beau, noting that he was trying to change his life and become a better person. Krystal wasn't convinced. At the bar, JR showed Little A the ring his father gave him. When JR went to take it back, the ring slipped from his hand and fell down the drain in the sink. JR freaked, but Babe suggested he just have another ring made. Adam would never know the difference. Meanwhile, Adam wondered what was wrong with his listening device.
Greenlee told Zach about Ryan and Kendall's strong connection. Zach admitted he felt there was a black cloud hanging over him and wondered what he needed to do to make amends. Greenlee filled Zach in on her, Ryan and Kendall's colorful past as best friends and business partners. "Quite a story," marveled Zach. Greenlee said Ryan would need his friends to get his memory back. Zach promised to support him, but was also worried about the effect all this was having on his wife.
Joe gave Annie a list of psychiatrists who could treat Ryan. Richie overheard and questioned Annie, who admitted her husband had lost his memory and thought it was 2004. Richie swore he wouldn't breathe a word to anyone and told Annie he was leaving town to find a bone marrow donor. Annie wished him luck, lamenting the fact that they weren't a brother and sister who really cared about each other. After Annie left, Joe approached Richie with good news: a bone marrow donor had been located.
Up on the rooftop at Fusion, Ryan told Kendall he wanted to make a connection with her and they embraced. Kendall realized how weird this was for Ryan and asked how she could help. "You can marry me," he answered, as he desperately wanted to return to 2004. Kendall admitted she remembered the good times between them, as the pair flashed back to memories of their years together. "Why did it end?" asked Ryan. Kendall explained that they've survived a murder trial and so many things, but couldn't survive Greenlee. Kendall went on about Ryan and Greenlee just being friends, but she wouldn't believe it. Eventually, she pushed Ryan right into her arms, and they two of them married. Ryan asked about Kendall's husband, Zach. Kendall said Zach was loyal and protective, while Ryan was with someone equally as wonderful, Annie. Kendall mentioned Ryan and Annie's daughter and the son she and Ryan shared. "We have a son?" gasped Ryan. Kendall showed Ryan Spike's picture, and Ryan bemoaned that all he wanted was for Kendall to love him. The pair shared a tender embrace. Annie arrived and interrupted the moment, so
Kendall left.
Later, Kendall returned to Greenlee's room, recounting what happened on the rooftop to her and Zach. Back on the rooftop, Annie told Ryan she wasn't upset about finding him with Kendall. Ryan didn't understand how she wasn't appalled or upset. "Because I love you," announced Annie. "And I know, eventually, you will remember I am your wife. I will make you remember."
Thursday
Kendall insisted Ryan would never hurt her, but Zach wasn't convinced. She suddenly realized he was jealous. She found it sexy, and they made love. After, she packed up and got ready to leave for her book signing in Chicago.
Zach took her to the airport.
Ryan came into their bedroom as Annie was getting dressed and it clearly threw him off. He told Annie he was going out. Annie could tell how uncomfortable he was, and suggested he spend more time there so it would feel like home. He put his coat down and apologized for how he was hurting her. Annie insisted she would make him fall in love with her again. She made him take his shirt off and go outside. She wanted him to remember when he did that before, because he wanted to feel everything. She kissed him, and he said it felt good. He stopped himself from having sex with her, however. He told her he couldn't love her; he couldn't fake that.
Tad found Angie checking on Frankie in his room, and asked how he was doing.
Frankie said he was ready to go home. Angie said he could be going home in as little as two days. Angie asked Tad again who he was talking to the parking garage. Tad told her it was just an old friend. Frankie asked where his picture of Angie and Jesse went. Tad asked if she had any other pictures of Jesse, and Angie wondered why he would be asking about pictures 20 years after Jesse died. Tad told them he was working a case that had similarities to Jesse's, but Frankie was suspicious. They were interrupted by a nurse saying Tad had a call — it was Jesse. He wanted to confirm that Tad wouldn't say anything. He told Tad he had to go, and hung up. When Tad went back to Frankie, Angie left and Frankie began to question him. Opal interrupted them, and she reminisced about Angie and Jesse. After she left, Frankie insisted Jesse had been in his room. He even smelled him. He asked if there were any chance that what he saw was real, and Tad reminded him that Angie saw Jesse die. Later, Tad found Opal and asked her to take Frankie back to his room. Then he got on the phone with someone and asked what they had found out. There was someone in Chicago and Canada. Tad told the person to wait to hear from him.
Elsewhere, Jesse said goodbye to the picture he took from Frankie's room. He told himself he had to leave to keep his family safe. He flashed back to after his "murder," when he was warned that his family would die if they knew he was alive. Suddenly, a scared woman pounded on his door and rushed in when he opened it. She begged Jesse not to let "him" near her, and then a man pounded on the door. She opened the door and told the man she had protection. Jesse got in between them and the man pulled out a knife. Jesse knocked him down, but when he turned away to call for help, the man got up and knocked Jesse unconscious. The woman feared he was dead. The man ran off, and the woman tried to rouse Jesse. She called 911. When they started questioning her, she hung up. After taking his wallet, she ran off.
Greenlee and Aidan talked about her future. Given her recent past, she couldn't believe she had one. She asked if what they had was real. They hadn't been with anyone else since they'd been together, right? Aidan assured her they were real and there had been nobody else, all the while thinking of his night with Kendall. They basked in their happiness for awhile, and then Tad came in and asked Aidan for some help — he needed him to travel to Chicago to investigate something. Tad would be going to Canada. Aidan was reluctant to leave Greenlee, but she insisted she was fine. Aidan agreed. Later, when Angie checked up on Greenlee, she showed her a picture of Jesse that she had in her locket. Later, Greens called Ryan to see how he was doing. She asked if he would come see her for lunch, and he thought it was a great idea.
Kendall sat in her seat on the airplane as they waited for one last passenger. Aidan sat down in the seat next to her. When Zach got home, Annie was there looking for Kendall. She needed someone to talk to. Zach asked if she was all right, and she told him no. Annie broke down, sobbing in his arms.
At the hospital, Angie listened as the paramedics described Jesse and his condition as they were bringing him in.
Friday
Ryan brought Greenlee lunch from the outside. She was shocked to see he truly was in love with Kendall again. He told her all about forgetting Annie and about forgetting his marriage to her. He asked her to tell him about it. Telling him about their marriage meant telling him how it ended, which was hard for Greenlee. Ryan apologized for everything he had put her through. He started asking about Zach, and it was clear he didn't trust him. They talked about Annie, and Greenlee suggested he let go of the past. He thanked her for her advice and left.
Annie told Zach that Ryan walked out on her. She insisted it was her job not to give up on him, and that she should probably go look for him. Zach asked her to let him help her though this. He got them both beers. Then he took a pillow, and told her to hit it. At first she laughed it off, but she eventually vented her frustration on the pillow. They talked about Richie, and then Annie got ready to go. Zach gave her a hug just as Ryan appeared at the door to witness it.
Kendall couldn't believe Aidan left Greenlee. Aidan said Greenlee was fine, and that she had insisted he go. She tried to get up but he stopped her.
They argued about their night together. Again she tried to move her seat, but the flight attendant stopped her. Kendall talked about telling Zach the truth, and told Aidan this was all his fault. Aidan told her telling Zach would be a huge mistake, and he wasn't going to let her hurt Greenlee like that. Eventually, Kendall apologized for trying to blame him, but still feared that secrets had a way of coming out. All of a sudden, Kendall got nauseated and ran to the bathroom. When she came back, Aidan asked if she was okay. Kendall said it was just all the lying. He got up to get her some ginger ale and crackers. Aidan's phone rang and Kendall picked it up, not recognizing the number. It was Greenlee, who wanted to know what Kendall was doing with Aidan.
Angie thought back to saying goodbye to Jesse the day he "died." Joe asked how she was doing and she reminded him it was Jesse's birthday. Joe told her that the board had voted and they wanted her to come back to the hospital full time. She told him she couldn't come back right now. Elsewhere in the hospital, Jesse was wheeled in. When he came to and realized he was at PVH he freaked out and tried to leave. The doctors tried to calm him so they could treat him. Angie went to visit Frankie. He brought up Jesse's birthday, and they talked about him. Frankie suggested they go for a "spin." Jesse hid as Angie pushed Frankie's wheelchair into the ER, and a doctor stopped her and asked her to take a look at a patient that had just come in. Hiding in a room, Jesse grabbed some supplies to clean himself up. Julia came in and caught him. Jesse was able to make up a story, but barely got away before Julia began to notice that he looked familiar.
Angie told Joe being at PVH on Jesse's birthday was hard for her. He suggested she visit Jesse's grave. Later, Angie said goodnight to Julia and told her she was going to see someone very special. Outside, she said to Jesse that it was time. Meanwhile, Jesse was at his own grave, talking to Angie, saying he had never stopped loving her.
