Monday

With Kendall bound and gagged, Kat advised Aidan that Kendall would never fall for him and he should just give it up. Aidan said he'd do whatever it took to make Kendall love him. "Nice guys finish last," he spat, adding that he's not a nice guy anymore.

Tad warned Jake not to count David out. "You have to stay strong and never forget who he is," Tad huffed to his little brother. Meanwhile, David told Amanda that six months from now, she'll have everything she ever wanted, and he'll be dead. David went to get some rest and Amanda listened to Jake's loving voicemail asking to meet him at the stables. After Amanda rushed out, David emerged. At the stables, Jake produced the medicine he stole from
David and said that Angie backed up what it was for: David's condition is fatal. Amanda hesitantly asked if Jake would still want to be with her if David wasn't dying. Jake assured her he loved her, and Amanda insisted that Jake forgive her.

Liza counseled Bailey about what to do with her son. Bailey was sure she wanted the baby back but Liza agreed to concede. Liza said she knew things would end up this way, and urged Bailey not to feel selfish.

Aidan checked into a hotel and just missed Erica as he got into the elevator. She rushed the front desk to get a room number, which the clerk denied. "Don't you know who I am?" Erica asked. Erica put up a big stink, threatening to tell all of her celebrity friends never to frequent this establishment if she doesn't get what she wants. The clerk agreed to put Erica through to Aidan's room. Erica spoke with him and demanded to see her daughter. Aidan replied that Kendall didn't want to see her, but Erica wasn't taking no for an answer. Aidan went downstairs to the lobby to meet Erica. She was furious that Kendall "refused" to come downstairs. Erica couldn't understand how Kendall could abandon her sons. Aidan suggested that Erica give Kendall time to come around. Erica pretended to leave, but watched Aidan get into the elevator,
which stopped at the sixth floor. He returned to the room and swore to Kendall that he'd kill Erica if she tried any funny business. In the lobby, Erica overheard the clerk and manager discussing, "The guy in 601." She rushed to the elevator. Erica pounded on the door asking for Kendall. Aidan pulled out his gun, then let Erica in. She and Kendall embraced, but Aidan appeared behind her, menacingly. Erica begged Kendall to leave with her. Erica was suspicious of Kendall's explanations for why she couldn't come home. Kendall told her mother that she'd be going back to Pine Valley alone, as Kendall was leaving her old life behind. A tearful Erica told Kendall that she'd never give up on her daughter, then left. Kendall was brokenhearted.

At home, in front of Trevor, David injected himself with medication to appear sick. As Jake chided Amanda for having sympathy for David, he called and asked her to return home. Amanda and Jake arrived, and as Amanda cared for Trevor, Jake examined a sweaty David, noting that his heart rate was "dangerously low." David begged Jake not to badmouth him to Trevor once David was gone. Jake said David had nothing to worry about, as he never planned on mentioning his name around Trevor. When Jake took glee in David's misery, a stunned Amanda overheard their conversation.

Tad called Liza, who was understandably down in the dumps. She asked if they could meet. Liza dictated her instructions about giving back Stewie. Tad was shocked that Liza was going down without a fight. Liza took the documentation to Bailey to have her sign it. She stayed strong but once she got outside the door, Liza collapsed into Tad's waiting arms.

Tuesday

Colby went to see JR and opened up about her woes. JR complimented Colby on the lovely young woman she had evolved into. JR tried to conceal his illness.

Marissa showed up in court and left a message for Liza, whose absence confused her. Tad went to fetch Liza, who was devastated over the loss of baby Stuart and didn't think that she was up to appearing in court. Tad bolstered her spirits. Liza told Colby that she would get Adam off for Colby's sake.

Adam urged Scott to accept the plea bargain. He then told Annie that she would go free so long as she followed his instructions. Adam left, joking that he didn't want to be late for his acquittal. Ryan entered Annie's hospital room and announced his intention to keep an eye on her.

Zach was hostile to Erica when she came to the casino. Erica was worried about Kendall and asked Zach for his help. While declining, Zach softened towards Erica. He then received a summons to testify at Adam's trial.

Jesse and Willis consulted before the trial began. Scott told Willis that he was taking the plea bargain. When a cocky Adam arrived, Liza suspected that he had something up his sleeve and threatened to walk. Scott was the first to testify; he said that Adam loved Stuart and hadn't been in his right mind at the time of the killing. In Annie's hospital room, Annie and Ryan watched TV coverage of the proceedings. JR excused himself as Angie took the stand. Tad checked on JR, who wasn't feeling well. Tad pressed JR to be honest with Marissa about his condition. Zach arrived and lashed out at Tad for telling Erica of Kendall's whereabouts.... Ryan warned Annie that she was finally going to pay for her crimes.... Jesse testified and after Zach had an outburst, Willis called his only witness: Zach. Zach claimed to have been working alone to free Kendall. Zach testified that he thought it was "very possible" that Adam had known of his crime all along..... Annie warned Ryan that she'd definitely be going free. Ryan said that Annie would "never, ever" get full custody of Emma, that she would have to kill him first. Ryan then stalked off.... Liza made a strong closing argument to the jury; Willis countered to advocate for Adam being found guilty.... Adam tried to apologize to Erica about Kendall. Erica was unmoved, proclaiming Annie a monster. The jury quickly reached a verdict and everyone filed back into the courtroom.

Ryan went to see Zach and warned him that Adam was planning something to get Annie off. Zach said that that was Ryan's problem, not his, and tossed down a scotch.

Wednesday

In court, the judge declared Adam "not guilty by reason of diminished capacity." Adam addressed the judge, beginning with, "I'm not a good man," and pointed out that he'll live with the guilt of Stuart's death for the rest of his life. The judge adjourned the courtroom. As the attendees discussed the decision, Annie watched from her hospital bed and smiled.

In the hall, Erica told Adam that she's not angry he's not going to prison but called him a dope for staying with Annie. Adam then thanked Marissa for all her help. JR told his father that he's glad he's not going to jail. Just as they were about to make plans, Annie called and asked him to visit. JR was miffed. Marissa told JR that she believes Adam's desire to reunite his family was sincere. JR countered by saying Annie had to go.

Colby could see that Liza had something on her mind. Liza told Colby that Bailey was leaving town ‹ with Stuey. Liza insisted that this was the way it was meant to be but Colby wasn't hearing it. Colby told JR that she can't believe that Liza wouldn't fight for Stuey just because he was adopted, and asked Marissa for legal assistance. JR pointed out that's Liza's choice but Colby was determined. Colby went to see Bailey to convince her to reconsider, then warned her not to break Liza's heart.

Zach and Ryan argued over Cambius. Ryan told Zach that his inflexible attitude is what drove Kendall into the arms of another man. Zach said if Ryan wants a fight over the company, he's got one.

A frazzled Liza told that Tad she can't keep leaning on him. "Sure you can," he replied. Tad took her to Jake's for some leftover Chinese food and got Liza to laugh for the first time in a while. She thanked him for being a good friend, then advised him to go be with his family. Tad offered to take her home first.

Erica met with Ryan and said, "We have a problem." Ryan then told Erica he doesn't have time for Zach's games and asked Erica to keep an eye on him. Erica went to Zach and asked him not to destroy everything that Kendall touched out of revenge. "I'm going to erase the last four years so Kendall has nothing to come home to," Zach huffed.

At the hospital, as Adam sat with Annie, Scott asked Angie and Jesse if Annie would be well enough for her trial. Angie said she saw no reason why she wouldn't. Meanwhile, Annie expressed her concerns to Adam about the next phase of their plan. Just then, Scott interrupted. Annie was nervous. Adam left, and Scott asked to be let in on their plan.

Adam visited Stuart's grave, placed a wreath on it and told him about his day in court. A tearful Adam noted how much he missed his brother. As he recalled Christmases past, JR showed up. JR admitted that he, too, wished they were a family again but he couldn't do that with Annie in the picture. Just then, Ryan showed up and told JR he was smart. "No child is safe around Annie," Ryan remarked.

Liza returned home, where Bailey and Colby shared that Stuey would be sticking around for a while. Liza was speechless.... Scott warned an idealistic Marissa that JR is a Chandler and Chandlers are incapable of change.... Annie had a nightmare about her trial. In her dream, Adam betrayed her on the stand and sent her off to jail.

Thursday

Ryan went to the cemetery to confront Adam. Ryan and JR tried to appeal to Adam as a father to acknowledge Annie as a threat to Emma. Adam continued to defend Stuart as JR became more and more impassioned in his rant against Annie. JR admitted to Adam that he had had cancer but was now in remission and swore him to secrecy. JR begged Adam to think about the importance of family.

Marissa assured Scott that JR is remaining sober. Scott was doubtful that Adam was a changed man. Marissa was surprised when Scott admitted that something had been going on between him and Annie. Scott said that he was going to go to Chicago but had changed his mind. Marissa wondered if Adam had something up his sleeve to keep Annie out of jail but Scott said she would have to ask Adam about that. Adam entered and smirked, "There's no time like the present." Marissa grilled Adam, who would cop only to having "a strategy," then said it was to declare his love for his wife in court. Marissa was dubious. She went to ConFusion to see JR. They discussed Adam and Annie and the likelihood of Adam turning on Annie for JR's sake. JR told Marissa that he had informed Adam of his cancer.

Krystal and Opal discussed Krystal's relationship with Tad. Opal told Krystal that she deserved to be happy.

Erica fretted about Kendall to Val. Ryan joined her at ConFusion and they discussed Kendall and keeping Fusion afloat. Erica didn't want to focus on cosmetics for the rest of her life, she told Ryan. Ryan swept Erica onto the dance floor. While Ryan was driving her home, Ryan told Erica that he wanted to focus on their relationship as soon as Annie was in jail and on seeing where it went. She was pleased with that idea. Just then, he had to swerve to avoid hitting someone. They ran after said person and found her in an alley. The person in question? Madison, who had been beaten severely. She balked at going to the hospital. Erica promised Madison that she would bring her somewhere safe.

When Bailey left with Stuart, a fight ensued between Colby and Liza, as Colby had convinced Bailey not to leave town and Liza thought that would just make things harder on her. Tad sympathized with Liza. Colby left and went to the mansion. Adam was thrilled when she said that she wanted to move back in. Scott was stunned with Colby's decision. Adam privately assured Scott that he still planned to get Annie exonerated.... Adam went to see Annie at the hospital but she was sleeping. He thought back to what JR and Colby had said to him about Annie (that he had to choose between his wife and his children).

Tad went home and he and Krystal worked on a gingerbread house. They broached the topic of trying to date again. They made a pact to both try to "get back on the horse." Krystal decided to call her candy store's architect, Robert, who had asked her out, while Tad shared a kiss with Liza, who showed up unexpectedly at his doorstep.

Friday

A vagrant wandered into the police station and told Brot he'd witnessed a murder. But before he'd talk, he wanted a donut. Once he got it, he said he saw a woman get mowed down by a car, and that a man and woman got of the car afterward who looked like movie stars. Meanwhile, Erica visited the mystery woman she and Ryan nearly ran over and she revealed herself as Madison North, whose late husband wanted to send Kendall to prison. Erica asked what happened to her, but she was reluctant to say who beat her up. Erica urged her to get some rest and assured Madison that she is safe.

Tad brought Liza a potted bamboo and asked why Jake was there. He said he was just returning some of his stuff, and later confided to Tad that David is continuing to use his illness to manipulate Amanda. Meanwhile, David feigned exhaustion when he was about to leave for work and Amanda came running to his side. She watched him struggle with preparing the injection and offered to help, so he coached her through administering the meds. Afterward, Amanda suggested he take a leave from the hospital. Jake dropped in on David and claimed he wants to help him. David proceeded to issue an apology, claiming that he deserves to die a painful death because of the wrongs he's committed. Afterward, Amanda thanked Jake for "easing up" on David.

At ConFusion, JR told Marissa he wants to have a huge, joyous Christmas with his father ... and no Annie, since she'll be in jail by then. Marissa wondered why he was singing a different tune about his father. JR explained that family is his focus right now and admitted that he needs his father. Liza interrupted their coffee to discuss the trial with Marissa. JR excused himself, and Liza sat down and told Marissa she's off the case. Marissa revealed to Liza that Annie had a "thing" with Scott and that JR is making Adam choose between him and Annie, and suggested they use that in the trial. Liza agreed to consider it, and ran into Tad on her way out. He told her it would get easier being without Stuart, then admitted that he'd come there to get back out on the dating scene. Liza assured him that his days as Tad the Cad are far from over, then sauntered away. Jake met Tad at ConFusion after his visit to Wildwind and said David bought his act, but he's not buying David's. Meanwhile, Amanda assured David that Jake was being sincere.

At the hospital, Annie told Scott that she was afraid Adam is avoiding her. Scott urged her to stop being paranoid and suggested they take a walk around the hospital floor. JR arrived just as Annie was holding onto Scott. Annie returned to her room, while JR probed Scott about what he'd just witnessed. JR warned Scott that "old Adam" is back. Scott reported back to Annie, who started to get worked up again. Later, Liza dropped by and Annie wanted to know exactly what Adam was planning to say at her trial. Liza told Annie to trust her that Adam's testimony is Annie's best shot at winning. Annie announced that Liza is fired and Annie's going to represent herself.

JR arrived at the hospital and met with his oncologist, who wanted him to start a stronger course of treatment the week before Christmas. JR didn't want to suffer the side effects at Christmas and wanted to enjoy this time with his family. Marissa ran into him after the appointment and was surprised to see him at the hospital. JR explained that he was there to surprise her and wanted them to go Christmas shopping, but she was too busy working on the case.
