Monday
Marissa overheard JR at David's bedside, telling David that he needed to wake up for Marissa's sake. JR became aware of Marissa's presence and before leaving, he told her that he was sorry about her father, "sorry about everything." Marissa was clearly affected. She caught up with JR in the hallway and asked him about AJ. Marissa noted that she was seeing a side of JR that she hadn't seen in a long time (a compassionate one). JR suggested that they put their animosity aside for AJ's sake. Marissa agreed to meet him for coffee. JR walked away with a smirk on his face.
Kendall and Greenlee returned to Kendall's house from California. Kendall told her to leave. Greenlee didn't want to, but Kendall insisted, icily suggesting that she go visit her husband in the hospital. Bianca came by and again pressed Kendall to have a memorial service for Zach. "Fine," sighed Kendall. Bianca asked Kendall to meet with a new minister in town, Father Torres.
Greenlee went to the hospital and angrily told David about her trip to California.
Asher thanked Caleb for getting his traffic violation exonerated. Caleb got word that Erica was at the courthouse and left Wildwind immediately. At the courthouse, Erica accused Liza of being jealous of her. Caleb showed up and Liza told him to keep his client on a tighter leash. After she stalked off, Caleb warned Erica that this was not a game. Jack showed up, having been alerted by Caleb to Erica's shenanigans. Caleb told Erica that she had to do as he said if she wanted him to represent her. She refused to promise him obedience. Erica and Jack went to see Kendall. Kendall told Erica she wanted to start planning La Kane's wedding. Erica and Jack suggested that they just take it one day at a time at the moment, but Kendall cautioned them that they had no time to waste. Kendall ranted about everything that David had taken away from them.
Back at Wildwind, Caleb and Marissa worked on Erica's case. Marissa thought Erica was justified in shooting David. Marissa told Caleb about her encounter with JR. Caleb was dubious about JR's seeming change of heart.
At the yacht club, Annie giddily thought back to her night with JR in D.C. JR arrived and they made out. She put the breaks on their lovemaking when he said he would have to leave soon for a date with Marissa. JR assured Annie that once he set things right with Marissa, he and Annie can finally be together. They had sex before he had to dash. At Krystal's, JR told Marissa that he just wanted the chance to show her that he is sincere about wanting them to work out an agreeable custody arrangement.
Jack and Greenlee met up at Krystal's. Greens told her dad that she wanted to divorce David as soon as possible. Greenlee went back to the hospital and saw Liza there. "Do you still think I tried to kill my husband?" Greenlee snapped. Liza apologized but told Greens that David really loved her. Kendall arrived and sneaked into David's room. She picked up a pillow and prepared to smother him.
At ConFusion, Jack and Erica agreed that they didn't have time to plan a holiday wedding. Caleb saw them holding hands and apologized for interrupting. He warned them that unless David woke up, Liza would be under pressure to get a conviction in Erica's case.
Tuesday
Jake and Amanda dined at Krystal's. Griffin entered and told Amanda that he was happy to hear that she'd be volunteering at the Miranda Center. Jake was irritated with Amanda for not telling him that she'd be working with Griffin. Bianca entered and updated the Martins about Zach's memorial service. Amanda pressed Jake to open up to her about Cara. He complied, and Amanda was appreciative. Jake agreed that it was time to get over his animosity towards Griffin.
Bianca met with Father Ricky about Zach's memorial. Bianca was reticent when the topic turned to Reese. After Ricky left, Reese phoned.
Kendall prepared to smother David with a pillow. Griffin entered and restrained a sobbing Kendall. She told Griffin that she wasn't sure how she had ended up in David's room and begged him to leave her alone.
Frankie and Randi visited Madison in the hospital. Frankie expressed his irritation with Ryan for being involved in her accidental shooting.
Ryan and Greenlee discussed Kendall. Ryan didn't want Greens to go see David. Ryan and Emma visited Madison at the hospital. Frankie was terse with Ryan, who pulled him aside to talk about Madison man-to-man. Meanwhile, Madison explained to Emma why she and Ryan aren't together anymore. She then asked Ryan to stop visiting her and to stop bringing Emma around, noting that it was just too painful. Later, Frankie delivered shocking news to Madison: She's pregnant!
Greenlee entered David's room to find Kendall and Griffin. Kendall bolted, trailed by Griffin. He advised her to start thinking about the rest of her life and commanded her to leave David alone. Greens approached Griffin about what Kendall had been doing in David's room; he was evasive but told Greenlee that Kendall needed help. Greens went back to David's bedside and told him that she was pursuing a divorce. Greens stroked his hair and Ryan saw her.
Kendall went home to find Ricky there. He tried to get her to open up about Zach and about her grief and she complied. She asked Ricky to perform Zach's memorial; he said that he would be honored. Later, Kendall and Bianca put together pictures for the service. Kendall thanked Bianca for talking her into the service and said that she was going to try to get through this.
Amanda brought Jake back to the hospital and they nuzzled as Griffin observed nearby. He phoned Cara and told her not to come to Pine Valley.
Wednesday
Kendall lay in bed thinking about Zach. When she went downstairs, she was overwhelmed by the house being set up for the memorial and ran out. She went to Krystal's, where Tad joined her. She asked him for help in dealing with her grief, noting that he had lost Dixie to Zach's father. Tad gave her necessary support. On their way out, they encountered Caleb. Caleb ran into Asher and invited him to go for a ride. Asher agreed, with reservations, and went to Wildwind with Caleb, who wanted to talk to him about Sonia. Caleb talked about Sonia's personality and how he had fallen in love with her. He detailed for Asher how he had not initially known that Sonia was pregnant and about finding her post-explosion, in labor. He told Asher that he delivered him himself, that he had held Asher up for Sonia to see him, and that she was smiling as she died, looking at Asher.
Ryan and Greenlee talked about their Zach-related grief. Greens wished that Kendall would let them help her. Spike came downstairs and Ryan had to remind him why Daddy Zach wasn't coming home. Meanwhile, Jack and Erica looked at pictures of Zach.
Bianca welcomed Jake and Amanda over to the house. Kendall came home and began crying as she looked at the pictures of Zach. The guests began to arrive. Erica deflected Kendall's questions about her legal woes. Greens offered to leave but Kendall said that Zach would want her to be there. Kendall welcomed Rev. Torres, who commenced the service. He did a lovely job. Jake spoke next, followed by Tad, then Opal, then Erica, then Greenlee, then Bianca, then Ryan. Finally, Kendall addressed the other mourners. Everyone then lit candles. The boys kissed their daddy's photo. "Good-bye, Zach," said a weepy Kendall. "Always, only you."
Thursday
Jake tried to convince Tad that he's unaffected by Griffin's presence in town.
Cara phoned Griffin; he didn't want to talk and said he'd call her later. Amanda spied Griffin working out with his shirt off. Tad and Jake spied them talking. Jake made a point of making out with Amanda. Jake had flashbacks about meeting Cara.
Brot told Natalia that his house is being repainted. She invited him to stay with her — on her couch. Jesse entered and assigned them both to a stake-out. Brot called Nat out on her defensiveness. Natalia admitted that she's scared of their intimacy. Brot promised that he would never hurt her and they kissed. Jesse called to apologize for having been harsh on them earlier.
Annie came by the mansion with an early Christmas gift: herself clad in gift-wrapping paper. When the doorbell rang, signaling Marissa's arrival, JR ushered Annie out. Annie hurried to Krystal's, where she encountered Amanda. Annie told Amanda what was going on with JR. Annie assured Amanda that she wanted to be with JR despite the secrecy. Amanda filled in Annie about Griffin. Annie left; Griffin entered and Amanda sat down with him. Amanda spied some paperwork that Griffin was filling out and demanded to know why Cara, with whom he had claimed to no longer be in touch, was his emergency contact. Griffin stonewalled her. Back at the hospital, he continued to urge Amanda to leave it alone. Jake approached Griffin, determined to make peace with him and to put the past behind him. Amanda was moved. Meanwhile, Cara arrived at Krystal's.
Back at the mansion, Marissa and JR discussed the possibility of having a family holiday. JR played on Marissa's nostalgia for the Christmas they had spent together the previous year. She told JR that she would agree to the two of them sharing the day with AJ. He embraced her and thanked her — and Annie walked in. JR was annoyed with Annie's timing and berated her when Marissa left (after briefly taking a personal call from Scott, whose identity she concealed from JR).
Friday
Ryan and Greenlee worked on moving her in to his place. Ryan told Greens that Madison had asked him to stop coming around.
Jake insulted Griffin to Amanda, then quickly apologized. Jake went to help Ryan and Greens with the move and urged Greens to go try to talk to Kendall.
At Krystal's, Cara looked at a picture of Jake, then left a message for Griffin. Amanda entered and when Cara overheard her chatting with Krystal, she realized that the lady was married to Jake. Amanda dropped a family photo, which Cara picked up. She tried to hide her upset. Amanda went to the penthouse to assist in the Ryan/Greenlee moving-in efforts.
At home, Kendall played with the boys. Griffin stopped by and told Kendall that he trusted her not to go after David again. Griffin told Kendall that he had Miranda Center business to discuss with her. Kendall asked Griffin to tell her about Zach. Greens showed up and Kendall was icy. Greens said she and Ryan wouldn't get married until Kendall was willing to be her matron of honor. Kendall snapped that Greenlee would never be getting married, then. Greens exited. Ricky stopped by to check on Kendall. He offered her tickets to take Spike to a hockey game. Kendall consoled Spike when he had a bad dream about Zach.
Frankie approached Madison at ConFusion and pressed her about what she was going to do regarding her pregnancy. Frankie disapproved of Madison not telling Ryan right away. Frankie left; Ryan arrived for some take-out and she blanched when she heard that he and Greenlee were moving in together. She told Ryan that she couldn't handle being around him. Ryan went home and he and Kendall updated each other on their unfortunate encounters (hers with Kendall, his with Madison). Greens told Ryan that the hospital had called; more decisions needed to be made about David.
Griffin and Cara had a warm reunion, even though she had promised him that she would stay away from Jake. She admitted that she had run into Amanda. Griffin told Cara he would meet her later at her hotel, then went to ConFusion for a meeting with Griffin. She was horrified to recognize a picture of Cara on a Doctors Without Borders brochure and demanded answers from Griffin. Meanwhile, Jake was flabbergasted when Cara approached him at the hospital.
