AMC Week of December 17, 2007
Monday
Tad was dubious when Adam claimed to have information about Kate's
whereabouts. Adam said he would find Kate for Tad if Tad dropped the custody
suit. Tad refused to let Adam coerce him into trading one daughter for
another.
Ryan and Kendall reeled from the news that Spike's deafness was caused by a
preexisting condition, not by the car accident. An arriving Erica was
floored by the info and tried to make a guilt-ridden Kendall feel better,
but she didn't buy Erica's rationale. Ryan agreed to let her be the one to
inform Aidan.
Julia and Kathy stopped by Jack's and Julia was pleased to see that Lily was
doing better. Lily and Kathy bonded. Erica entered and saw Julia and Jack
together; she was not pleased. Erica told Jack about the Spike situation and
was stung when he remained cold toward her.
Zach and Greenlee panicked when water began pouring into the bomb shelter.
They tried to make the best of their dire situation by telling dumb jokes.
Aidan was discouraged to find that the water in the abandoned well had
frozen over. When Kendall showed up, he tried to send her away but she said
she had something to tell him. At the cabin, she filled him in about
Greenlee not having caused Spike's hearing loss. He insisted that she stay
the night when an ice storm rendered the driving conditions too dangerous.
Tuesday
As they awaited what they believed to be their almost certain demise, Zach
opened up to Greenlee about his innermost fears. He also admits that he was
wrong about Greens.
Aidan awoke to find Kendall gone — she was searching the grounds for some
sign of Zach. Aidan found her and dragged her back to the cabin. There, his
despair got to him and he lashed out at Kendall, telling her that Zach and
Greenlee weren't out there as she believed them to me. "We have nothing!" he
bellowed. Kendall held onto the hope that they would find their missing
loved ones, becoming more and more agitated when it was clear that Aidan's
hopes had run out and he believed that Zach and Greenlee were dead.
Jonathan sat down with Ava at The Comeback and gently tried to express his
reservations about their engagement. Ava reacted badly to his questions
about her feelings for JR and turned the tables on him by accusing him of
still loving Lily.
At the yacht, Amanda was surprised when she deduced from JR's nonchalant
behavior that Adam had not shared with him the DVD she sold to him (which
exonerates him from the hit and run). JR begged Amanda to stay the night
with him at the yacht, acknowledging that he had been taking her for
granted. Amanda was briefly tempted but ended up standing her ground and not
sleeping with him — just in time for him to have a flash of memory of them
together on the night of the accident....
Annie paid a visit to Richie in the psychiatric ward. His blithe confidence
that she would never truly be rid of him proved unnerving to a jumpy Annie.
Janet's previous offer to help Richie panned out when she created a
diversion that allowed him to escape from the hospital.
Wednesday
Kendall lashed out at Aidan when he tried to force her to accept that Zach
and Greenlee were dead. Meanwhile, in the bomb shelter, a fading Greenlee
asked Zach what it was like to die.... In the cabin, Kendall broke down
sobbing, screaming for her husband. Aidan tried to console her and calm her
down. She collapsed in the sobs and the next thing either of them knew, they
were seeking physical comfort from each other. While they had sex, Zach
gently cradled Greenlee. Immediately after doing the deed with Aidan,
Kendall was filled with remorse and she began to cry again. "What kind of
people are we? This is how we mourn the people that we love?" she said to
Aidan, who had a few regrets of his own. Just then, Kendall found the
blueprints to the bomb shelter.
Ryan, Annie and Emma arrived at the Miranda Center for the Christmas party.
They warmly greeted Tad and Jenny. Tad told Krystal that Adam had offered
him a dirty deal to get him to drop the custody suit.... Babe answered a
call from JR, who reported that his memory of the night of the hit and run
was returning. Babe said she was on her way. Adam, who overheard JR's end of
the phone call, asked him for details on his recovered memories. JR told him
to stay out of it.... Colby, Krystal, Little Adam and Jenny left the
party.... Kathy arrived and jumped into Tad's arms.... Annie told Ryan that
she went to see her brother and that Richie had succeeded in messing with
her head.... Jack helped Opal distribute the gifts.... Tad and Julia
discussed his custody suit against Krystal.... Stuart regaled the kids with
the Christmas story.... Jack and Julia's friendship continued to deepen....
Ryan got some bad news via cell phone: Richie had escaped from the psych
ward.... Babe was stunned when Richie sneaked up on her and asked her to
help hide him.
At the Chandler manse, Krystal demanded answers from Adam about what he was
trying to do to Tad. He said he had told Tad he could help him find Kate.
Adam fibbed that he didn't actually know where the girl was and Krystal was
repulsed by his actions. Colby took Little Adam upstairs so that JR could
talk privately with Babe. He opened up about his love for her and his fear
of going to jail. Babe let Little Adam stay the night with his daddy.
On the yacht, Amanda toasted to her absent mother while celebrating the
revenge she'd gotten against JR and Adam. Amanda was rich, but clearly
lonely....
Thursday
Tad and Jenny encountered Father Clarence, who invited them inside his
chapel. True to the mystical ways in which Clarence worked, Krystal soon
showed up, too. Clarence questioned Tad's reasons for suing Krystal for
custody. At Clarence's request, Krystal explicated her love for Jenny; Tad
then did the same. The parents' ire softened considerably. Krystal began
weeping. She told Tad that Jenny was lucky to have him; he returned the
compliment. They agreed that neither of them wanted to take Jenny from the
other. With that, Clarence disappeared. Krystal told Tad that he was right;
Adam didn't belong anywhere near their child. Tad said he planned to shred
the custody papers.
Kendall and Aidan's hopes reawakened when they discovered the blueprints to
the bomb shelter. Zach and Greenlee, meanwhile, were close to death inside
the shelter. Kendall and Aidan raced to the shelter and frantically worked
to open the door. Once successful, Aidan shined a flashlight into the
shelter. "It's them!" he said. But as they were both unconscious, Aidan
wasn't sure if they were unconscious or dead. Quentin arrived to offer his
assistance. Aidan lowered himself into the shelter and came back with a
barely breathing Greenlee. Kendall insisted that Quentin help her get into
the shelter to be with Zach. Aidan successfully revived Greenlee, then
ordered Quentin to get Kendall out of the shelter. Just then, the walls
started crumbling.
Erica, claiming that Krystal had nearly run her over with her car, showed up
at Adam's. She and Adam soon entered into a war of words, bickering over
Krystal and Zach, among other topics. Erica blasted Adam for sitting on the
DVD that exonerates JR, on the grounds that it might contain clues as to
Zach's whereabouts. Adam then delivered a pep talk to Erica, urging her to
go after what she wants (Jack). Before leaving, Erica told Adam to stay away
from Tad and his baby. Adam left a phone message for Krystal as Clarence
lurked outside the mansion....
Ryan tried to calm down Annie, who was panicked in the wake of the news that
Richie had escaped from the psych ward. Annie was becoming convinced that
the only way to get rid of Richie was to do what he wanted (kill him). Once
she regained her composure, the Laverys cuddled up with Spike, Emma and Ian
for a reading of the Christmas story.
When Richie showed up at her place, Babe refused to hide him. He played up
his declining physical condition to manipulate her sympathies. Babe demanded
that Richie tell him the truth about his Pine Valley agenda. He said he
couldn't leave town because of his feelings for her. After taking a hot
shower, Richie offered to make dinner for Babe, then learned, via Ryan's
arrival, that while he'd been in the bathroom, she had called Ryan.
Friday
Kendall was greatly relieved when Zach regained consciousness. With aid from
Quentin, the Slaters got safely out of the bomb shelter. Both Zach and
Greenlee were barely clinging to life. Kendall kissed an unconscious Greens
and begged her to live, noting that she, Kendall, had so much to make up to
her. At the hospital, Kendall updated Zach on their sons and Joe broke the
bad news to Aidan that Greenlee's kidneys were shutting down. She began to
crash....
At the Chandler manse, JR was short-tempered with Adam, as his inability to
recall the events of the night Zach was run over was driving him nuts. Adam
remained mum about the DVD he possessed (the one that proved JR's
innocence). Father Clarence then came by to see Adam and to pressure him to
come forward to JR about the DVD and to Tad about the whereabouts of his
missing daughter.... JR went to the cemetery to visit Dixie's grave. As he
poured his heart out to his late mother, his memory came flooding back — and
he immediately went to the yacht to confront Amanda. "I know exactly what
you did!" he warned.... After showing Clarence out, Adam railed that he
would not let some fraud dictate his behavior. He returned the adoption
papers and DVD to the safe and locked it — and was freaked out when the
adoption certificate appeared before him and realized that the safe had
opened on its own.
Babe, Richie and Ryan were at the condo when Derek arrived to take Richie
back into custody. Ryan and Babe were surprised when Richie revealed that he
had turned himself in. He explained that he had done so to spare her further
trouble. After Richie was hauled off, Ryan acknowledged to Babe that he
thinks Richie's feelings for her are sincere. Before leaving, though, he
warned Babe that Richie couldn't be saved.... Richie was concerned when he
learned that Zach had been found.
