AMC Week of August 31, 2009
Monday
Jake prepared to take Amanda home from the hospital. She questioned whether she had actually hallucinated seeing Trevor there. Jake brought Amanda back to the nursery and thanks to a tip from a nurse, reached the conclusion that Amanda hadn't been hallucinating, after all. Jake and Amanda went to Frankie's apartment and let themselves in. They found the shirt Trevor had been wearing the day he went missing.
At Wildwind, David demanded that Liza tell him where his son is. Liza told David everything she knew, revealing the involvements of Tad, Opal and Taylor. David ranted and raved against the Martins. Liza tried to escape but David stopped her and swore revenge against the Martins. Liza accused David of caring more about revenge than his son. David ordered her to leave, then phoned the hospital looking for Jake. He went to the hospital but Jake wasn't there.
At the Hubbard loft, Natalia reeled from Randi's revelation that she had killed North and that Jesse had helped her cover it up. She threatened to tell the whole world if they took the baby away from her. Frank was livid with Randi; Natalia was livid with Jesse. Jesse tried to explain his motives to his daughter and Angie tried to get through to Randi. Natalia understood her father's desire to protect Randi. Frank rejoined Randi, who wept as she acknowledged that she had to give up the baby. When the time came, Randi once again struggled with saying good-bye to the baby but handed him over to Angie. Frank did his best to console Randi.
At Babe's gravesite, Marissa sent Little A off in search of flowers so that she could talk to JR alone. JR made more cryptic comments to Marissa about how there are no guarantees in life, then left with his son.
Taylor and Tad met up at Tad's and lamented that they had no leads as to Trevor's whereabouts. Taylor tried to lift Tad's spirits (and ease his headache). JR and Little A came by and Tad asked Taylor to give him some time alone with JR. Tad urged JR to undergo the treatment he needs and told JR that he loves him. After JR left, Liza showed up and told Tad that David knows everything. Tad escorted her out and left an urgent message for Jake.
Erica sensed that something suspicious was going on when she went to the Slater house. Kendall listened in on Zach's attempts to calm her. Erica told Zach about her trip to Africa. Zach broke the news that Liza may not stay on Kendall's case. After probing Zach a bit about Liza, Erica announced that she was moving in. Zach tried to talk her out of it but ultimately relented. Kendall's eyes bulged. After Erica left, Kendall revealed her presence to Zach, who said that moving in was the best idea Kendall had ever had because it would keep Kendall in the secret room. Erica returned, ready to move in. Liza showed up and as Kendall listened, Liza said she was staying with Kendall's case.
At the hospital, David was with Joe when he saw a news report about the abandoned baby being brought in to the station. David dashed out. Tad saw the same report and when Jake and Amanda showed up, he told them that he thinks he found the baby. Taylor, Tad, Jake and Amanda converged upon the police station. Jake told Amanda that they needed to get their stories straight. Amanda couldn't wait and burst into the room where Angie and Jesse were waiting with Trevor. "My baby!" she gasped. "Don't you mean our baby?" seethed David, revealing his presence.
JR went to the clinic and met with Dr. Kahn. JR was eager to begin treatment.
Tuesday
At the clinic, JR learned that he needed to begin chemo right away. The doctor urged him to let his loved ones know what he was going through but he insisted on going it alone. Meanwhile, Marissa welcomed Krystal home from Africa. Marissa told her mom that JR had been acting strangely and asked if Krystal thought he could be drinking again. Krystal was floored to hear that Marissa had moved into Wildwind. Later, Marissa joined JR and was happy when he assured her that he hadn't turned to the bottle. He suggested that maybe they could take Little A to the park over the weekend. She loved the idea. After Marissa left, JR watched Krystal with Little A and said he totally trusted her with his son. Tad arrived and realized that JR hadn't broke the news of his cancer to Krystal. Tad vowed to help JR through his ordeal, and they hugged.
At the Slater house, Erica bristled when Liza said that she was going to remain on Kendall's case. Zach sent Erica upstairs and discussed with Liza what had changed her mind. Liza said she wasn't doing it for him.... Kendall listened to Erica in Spike's room via the baby monitor and was pleased that La Kane was going to keep Liza out of Zach's bed. Ryan showed up to take Spike home with him; Zach said no way. Erica interrupted their heated exchange. She was happy to see Ryan and couldn't wait to show him her Africa footage. Erica then mentioned that she was going to move into the Slaters to help out with the boys. Ryan told Erica that Zach switched teams and now he's on board with Adam and Annie. Erica replied that her presence was needed here now more than ever. In the secret room, Kendall was upset as she heard Ryan planning to leave with Spike. As Erica asked Ryan to reconsider, Zach had to hold back Kendall from escaping the secret room.
At the police station, Jesse asked if it was true that the baby in his arms was David's. Amanda admitted that it was true. A gloating David told Amanda that her nightmare was just beginning. Jesse let Amanda hold the baby. Amanda was thrilled to be reunited with Trevor. Angie wished she had known the true circumstances and had been able to help sooner. Amanda feared the worst, now that David knew the truth. Amanda wanted to sneak out but Angie assured her it would do no good. David was furious at Jake for making him believe that his son had died. He vowed to take the child away from him and Amanda. Tad kept the men apart but when David told Tad not to touch him, Tad punched David. Then, Amanda entered with Trevor. "Please don't take my baby away from me," Amanda cried. Jesse asked Natalia to take the baby. "It's okay," assured Jake. A heartbroken Amanda gave the baby to Natalia. "She needs to be in cuffs," David insisted. Jesse told David they'd take things by the book and asked David to leave. David said they haven't heard the last of him. Amanda begged Jesse not to put Trevor into foster care. As the baby cried, Angie allowed Amanda to comfort her baby. As Jake was taken away for processing, Tad and Taylor begged Jesse to let them take Trevor home. Jesse said his hands were tied. Amanda said good night to her baby and was placed in a holding cell alongside Jake, where she broke down into tears.
David thanked Liza for spilling the beans. She pointed out he was holding a gun on her. David asked Liza to be his lawyer in the custody battle and said he's got something up his sleeve that no one is expecting.
Wednesday
Accompanied by Tad, JR saw the room where his chemo treatments were going to begin. Tad pledged his support to JR. When the chemo started, JR thought about Marissa to distract himself from the pain. When JR came out of anesthesia, he admitted to Tad that he is falling in love with Marissa. "I really don't want to lose her," he said tearfully. Tad urged him to fight his illness and for his heart's desire.
Amanda went to Krystal and told her that Jake is in jail and that her baby is alive. Meanwhile, David told the whole story to Marissa at Wildwind.... Liza came to the Martin house to apologize to Amanda for revealing the truth to David. Liza said she had a plan to help Amanda get her baby back. She texted Marissa and asked her to come to Tad's. Marissa excused herself from David and went to the Martins to talk to Liza, Krystal and Amanda. Liza wanted Marissa to spy on David for them but Krystal balked at the idea. Tad returned home as Marissa was offering her defense of David.... David met with a custody lawyer. When JR showed up at Wildwind, David told him that his son was alive. David and JR went another round over JR's interest in Marissa. Marissa returned home and announced that she was going to live there permanently, which was music to David's ears. He left and Marissa demanded answers as to why he'd been running so hot and cold. Marissa told JR that she was only living at Wildwind to keep an eye on David for Amanda.
At the Slater house, Erica begged Ryan not to leave with Spike, to no avail. Kendall blasted Zach for letting Ryan take her son. Zach went downstairs and Erica demanded to know why he didn't fight to keep Spike with him. "You're hiding something," she accused. Zach did his best to deflect her questions and to dissuade Erica from trying to force Kendall to receive visitors in jail. Kendall then cleverly faked a call to Erica from jail. Still, Zach was frustrated with Kendall, and even more so when Kendall brought Ian into the secret room. Kendall returned to work on her new novel, then drifted to sleep and had a new memory about the night of Stuart's murder — one that definitively proved to her that she did not shoot him.
Erica went to Ryan's and told him that she had seen Kendall. She reported to Ryan that Kendall wants the boys to stay together. Erica fainted but soon came to and insisted that she's fine. She opened up to Ryan about her time in Africa; he was admiring. She noted that he'd given her quite the good-bye kiss. He said that it had been a magical evening. After she left, Ryan watched footage of Erica in Kenya giving food and water to starving children. Ryan paused the footage on Erica's smile and smiled to himself. Erica went back to the Slater house and found a half-consumed glass of water with lipstick on it. She demanded an answer from Zach; he lost his temper with her and she decided not to move in. Kendall then accosted Zach and told him that she now remembers everything about the night Stuart died and that she knows she's innocent. They shared a happy embrace.
Liza cuddled baby Stuart. She became anxious when she listened to her messages and they were all hang-ups.
David proposed to Amanda that she move in with him so that they can raise their son together. "I would rather die," she spat. To sweeten the deal, he said he would drop all the charges if she agreed to move in.
Thursday
Liza visited Jesse seeking clemency for Jake and Amanda. Jesse reminded Liza that she, Taylor, Tad and Opal are in hot water, as well. Jesse told Jake that the baby was with foster parents.
Randi was testy with Frankie the morning after they gave up Matthew/Trevor. Brot stopped by and picked up on the tension. Frank filled Brot in about the baby as they went to the hospital for Frank's meeting about being reinstated at work. Angie shocked Frank with the news that the baby was actually Amanda's. Natalia stopped by Randi's as she was reeling from that same revelation and freaking that David might get the baby. When Frank returned home, she lashed out at him and threw Natalia, Brot and Frank out. Jesse went in and tried his best to console Randi. Angie soon joined in that effort. At ConFusion, Brot and Natalia bickered about the problems in Frank and Randi's marriage while Frank struggled to keep his feelings in check. Natalia ended up storming off.
Amanda recalled David's offer to drop the charges against everyone if she moves into Wildwind. Amanda cried in Tad's arms as David told Marissa it's just a matter of time before he gets custody of Trevor, who he intended to rename David.... Krystal and Tad were disgusted with David's attempt to blackmail Amanda. Krystal stormed over to Wildwind to rail against David (which got her nowhere) while Amanda reunited with Jake at the police station. Liza, Tad, Jake and Amanda discussed David's offer.... Krystal worried about Marissa living at Wildwind even though she swore she could handle it.... David drew up a contract for Jake and Amanda and asked Marissa to deliver it to them.... Willis made it clear to Tad and Liza that their best bet is to accept any offer David gives them.... Amanda woke up and was startled to realize that Jake wasn't at home with her.... Jake entered Wildwind and trained a gun on David, saying he was taking his family back.... Marissa brought the contract to the Martin house and explained its contents to Liza, Tad and Krystal.... Amanda rushed into Wildwind and told David she would move in with him. Jake looked destroyed.
Friday
Adam asked Scott to be his best man in the wedding. JR looked on
disapprovingly. After, Annie told Scott she thinks things would be better
for them if JR just took Adam and left town. Scott told Adam to reconsider
making him the best man, but Adam was insistent. So, Scott obliged.
Kendall looked at the wedding invite asked Zach if he's going to bring a
date. She was excited about being innocent and thanked Zach for believing in
her from the beginning. They overheard, via the baby monitor, Erica talking
to Ryan about Zach. Zach went to see what was going on. Erica admitted she's
concerned about him and has noticed his odd behavior. He ushered her out the
door so they can talk. Erica confronted Zach about making a deal with Adam
and letting Ryan take Spike without putting up a fight and surmised that
something else was going on. He left without explaining himself. Ryan came
by. Erica explained that she thinks Zach's having an affair with Liza.
Kendall entered, unnoticed, and eavesdropped on the duo talking. After,
Kendall called Erica. Kendall demanded to know why Ryan took Spike away;
Ryan wanted to talk in person and promised to give her any info about Zach
if he finds out.
Tad was outraged that Amanda would move in with David and give him rights to
Trevor. They surmised that they were trying to strike a deal with David.
Marissa rushed off to find out. Meanwhile, Jake trained a gun on David and
threatened to kill him. Amanda pleaded with Jake to stop and said that her
living with David is just temporary. She reminded him that David doesn't
have any power over their love so they've already won the battle. Her pep
talked worked and Jake lowered his weapon just as Marissa walked in. Later,
Amanda told Tad she's going through with it until they figure out a better
plan of action, adding that she's not scared of David anymore. David
excitedly prepared for Trevor and Amanda's arrival at Wildwind. He forced
Marissa to swap rooms to make room for a nursery. They all met at Wildwood
with the DA to work out the details, saying David won't press charges. David
made it clear that Jake will have no connection to the baby at all. Amanda
was reunited with the baby and told David to stay away from her. Jake said
his good-byes and went to ConFusion for a a drink; Liza tried to
console him. He vowed to kill David.
Annie was excited that her wedding gown arrived. She was shocked see Zach,
who told her about his plan to make Ryan pay for what he's done. Later,
Annie told Scott she's going to work with Zach to get her daughter back. She
tried on her dress for Scott; Adam entered and she was mad that he saw her.
"Oh my God, the wedding's ruined!" she cried and ran out. Meanwhile, JR
asked Krystal to watch Little A. Then he told Tad that no one must find out
he's sick.
Erica was miffed that she missed most of her own special on NEW BEGINNINGS.
Ryan told her she has a whole new glow about her since returning from
Africa. "Humanitarianism really becomes you," he said as he gently stroked
her face. Zach barged in and demanded they both leave. Zach told Kendall
that he's not having an affair; he's working on Annie for her.
