AMC Week of August 25, 2008
Monday
At the manse, Carmen was getting ready for her dinner with Jack. Annie confronted Adam about his desire to take over Fusion and hinted that she could be an ally in his plans.
Jesse tried to cheer up Angie, who was bummed about Cassandra's exit to Paris.... Cassie and Dre talked about going to Paris together. After sharing a painful good-bye with Jesse and Angie, Cassie talked to Dre and they agreed that he should stay in Pine Valley. Cass and Dre bid each other a teary farewell.
Ryan reeled when Kendall and Greenlee came over with the proof that Annie's pregnancy was no miracle (on account of his botched vasectomy). He was mad
at them for bringing the documentation over and ordered the women to stay out of his marriage. Later, Annie returned home and Ryan confronted her with
the papers she'd hidden from him.... At ConFusion, Kendall blurted out to Greenlee that Ryan is still in love with Greens.
Erica accused Jack of using Carmen to get back at her for dating Sam. Jack walked out in disgust just as Opal was arriving. Opal was upset with Erica's
status report on her love life and further crushed when she saw Jack and Carmen together at the yacht club.... A sweet-talking Adam arrived to take Erica to dinner at the club. Carmen thought La Kane's presence was proof that Jack was trying to make his ex jealous and planted a huge kiss on Jack for Erica's benefit.
Tuesday
Jake and Taylor both arrived at Jamie's apartment with boxes in tow, realizing there's been a mistake. They agreed to stay the night there together and figure things out in the morning. Amanda showed up unexpectedly and kissed Jake, surprising Taylor. Amanda invited Jake to move to her yacht; he didn't agree. Later, Jake figured out that Taylor mistakenly thought he was gay. They exchanged stories about their experiences and Taylor inquired if Frankie knows Jake has an axe to grind.
Tad and Aidan had a boys' night in and ordered pizza, much to Krystal's chagrin. Meanwhile upstairs, Kathy had a nightmare where Krystal fed Tad a poisonous red apple. She woke up in a panic and ran downstairs into Tad's arms. When Krystal entered with an apple (encouraging Tad to counter his greasy pizza with some fruit), little Kathy cowered in fear. She hid the apple in her stuffed animal. Before she returned to bed, Kathy whispered, "I'll save you daddy," into Tad's ear.
At the club, Erica and Adam reeled from Carmen laying a dramatic smooch on Jack. They sat at a nearby table and Erica called Jack on her cell. Jack confronted his ex and asked her not to ruin his date, adding that he's sick of playing games and demanded that Erica leave Carmen alone. Meanwhile, Adam sidled up next to Carmen, ordered a pricey vintage wine and suggested they team up to break Erica and Jack's obvious connection. Carmen said no, adding, "I'm done!" before taking off her jewelry, putting down her hair and telling Erica she's sorry for meddling with Jack because she knows he'll always love her. Later, Jack told Carmen he really likes her and pulled her in for a kiss. When Adam suggested Erica remarry him, she gave him a playful slug in the arm.
At ConFusion, Kendall tried to explain to Greenlee that Ryan will never love Annie because he still loves Greens, who promptly ordered a stiff drink. Kendall suggested they go talk to Ryan, but Greens chided Kendall for telling her the truth — and giving her reason to ruin both her own and Ryan's lives all over again. Kendall encouraged Greens to go back to Ryan and save him from "evil" Annie. Greens was resistant to believe she could be happy with Ryan.
Ryan angrily confronted Annie about the letter from the clinic, demanding to know why she kept his botched vasectomy a secret from him. Annie plead her case, saying she hoped having a baby would save their relationship and that it seemed like a gift. Then, she admitted to taking hormone pills. Ryan was miffed by Annie's deception. When Ryan encouraged Annie to explain what was really on her mind, she had a vision of ghost Richie, who goaded her to spill the truth that she killed her brother. Annie stumbled over her words, then simply apologized to Ryan for lying, instead.
Greens returned home and gave Aidan a big hug.... Ryan assured Annie he's not leaving her; she vowed not to keep secrets.
Wednesday
Annie woke up Ryan with a kiss. He assured her that he wasn't going
anywhere. Zach was irritated with Kendall, who remained obsessed with Ryan and Greenlee's situation. Zach and Ryan met up at ConFusion and discussed the Annie situation. Zach advised Ryan to put Annie to the test. At Jamie's old place, Jake woke up to find Taylor doing push-ups. He challenged her to a contest. Amanda entered with breakfast and watched as Taylor whooped Jake's butt. Amanda proposed to Jake that he consider renting David's cabin. Jake had a bad reaction to Hayward's name. Jake chastised Taylor for having been rude to Amanda but said she could keep the apartment. Taylor was eager to return to Iraq when her foot healed. Their debate about
Iraq got heated; Jake apologized if he'd offended the vet. After Jake left, Taylor was besieged with memories of combat and she took off.
At Fusion, Babe gave Randi a sneak peek of a new, more affordable
fragrance, Working Girl. Randi didn't care for the names. Kendall and
Greenlee arrived and expressed disdain for Babe and Amanda's concept. Amanda offered to fund the venture with her blackmail millions. An arriving Annie said she thought it was a great idea. She asked for her job back and Greenlee supported the idea over Kendall's protests. Kendall continued to rant and rave; when Zach walked in mid-tirade and told her to calm down, she stormed out in anger. Babe, Amanda, Randi and Annie went to ConFusion for a brainstorming session and came up with a new name for the perfume: Bella,
after Babe (whose real name is Arabella). Zach caught up to Kendall and carried her off for an afternoon of passion. Annie sneaked away from the other Fusion gals to place a covert call to Adam with an update on what was going on at Fusion. Ryan went up to Fusion and Greenlee asked him if it's true that he still loves her. "Yes," he replied.
At home, Jesse tried to soothe Angie, who was upset over Cassandra's exit. Jesse got word that his men had found the missing lug wrench and left, excited over the possible break in the case. When his phone rang, Angie answered it but no one spoke. Jesse found out that human blood had been found on the wrench, which could clear Colby, Dre and Cassandra of the crime. Angie returned home to a picnic lunch on the fire escape planned by Jesse. She pressed him to share details of his missing years but he was reluctant. He heard Angie out on the subject, then got a phone call. No one spoke, but Jesse sensed the identity of the caller. "This is you, isn't it?" he said.
Thursday
Taylor asked Frankie for his help in getting her back to Iraq. Frank pointed out that Taylor likely had post-traumatic stress syndrome; he hit a nerve and she responded badly. Their heated confrontation ended with her storming off.
Jake told Joe he was staying in town. Joe suspected it had to do with a
girl; enter Amanda, who came bearing the gift of keys to David's cabin. They went to check it out and had sex in the barely furnished living room. Taylor went for a run and saw the newly minted lovers on a jog of their own.
At Fusion, Ryan downplayed to Greenlee the feelings he has for her. She was relieved and offered to keep an eye on Annie and the baby for him. Randi returned to the office when Ryan left, unaware that Fletcher was lurking in the hallway. Fletcher then went to see Frank at the hospital, taunting him about Randi and demanding drugs. After the louse left, Randi came to see Frank and invited him to Bella's launch party. She thanked him for getting rid of Fletcher for her. Greenlee told Aidan that Ryan is a total non-issue for them. He said there was something he needed to take care of. Frank filled in Jesse about Fletcher's threats and made a dig at his dad's absenteeism. Jesse put out an APB on Fletcher and agreed to protect Randi.
Annie reported to Adam as his Fusion corporate spy. She filled him in on the spoiled brats vs. underlings dynamic within the cosmetics company, with Kendall and Greenlee on one side and Babe and Amanda on the other. Adam failed to convince a chemist to help him sabotage Fusion. An arriving Petey volunteered his aid in exchange for Adam's help in getting him Colby. Chandler reluctantly agreed to the deal.
Ryan and Annie met up at home and visions of Richie tormented her. She collapsed in pain. They went to the hospital; Joe determined that everything was fine but recommended bed rest. He stressed that it was important to bring her stress level down. Annie said she'd do it but asked to tell Ryan herself. She then lied to Ryan that everything was fine and there were no further precautions to take. Aidan decked Ryan.
Zach whisked Kendall away to a beach house. After a passionate lovemaking session, Kendall was eager to return to Pine Valley, but Zach was equally determined to make her drop her obsession with Ryan and Greenlee's love lives. She accused him of trying to control her. She agreed to have an impromptu honeymoon but he could tell she remained distracted by what was going on at home. He was upset when she departed for Pine Valley by herself.
Friday
Erica was mortified when she showed up at Jack's and caught a half-dressed Carmen there. Greenlee arrived and took pleasure in Erica's distress. Jack made her leave, then told La Kane that their love is dead. Carm tried to console Erica, who dabbed away tears. Carmen volunteered to stop seeing Jack if dating him bothered Erica but she turned Carmen down. La Kane left with as much of her pride intact as possible after Jack apologized for the things he'd said to her the previous night. Erica went to the Valley Inn by herself and conversed with two alter egos, once dressed in black and the other in white, who debated Erica's behavior toward Carmen. Adam showed up and Erica told him to back off. He responded by kissing her passionately; she told him never to put his lips on her again, which he found to be a turn-on. JR and Babe sneaked into his room for a lovemaking session but got sidetracked by a conversation about Bella. Post-sex, they discussed how Bella might be her ticket to running Fusion. Adam went to Cortlandt manor to get the goods from Peter that would allow him to taint Bella perfume. Opal interrupted them and they covered, pretending that they were talking about Colby. Opal became ill when she ingested some of Petey's concoction. Adam helped himself to the potion when Petey went to tend to Opal. Taylor rolled her eyes at the sight of Jake and Amanda together. She tried to make a quiet getaway but ended up tripping and reinjuring her foot. She agreed to let Jake and Amanda help her on the condition that she didn't have to go back to her apartment (where she'd been besieged with bad memories of the war). They brought her to the cabin, where she encountered Amands's bra. Amanda picked up on the easy rapport between Jake and Taylor and didn't like it. She offered to let Tayor stay on the yacht; Taylor accepted. "I give it two days," Jake quipped after Amanda left. Annie had nightmares of Ryan and Greenlee together. She woke up, upset that Ryan was nowhere to be found. Her day went from bad to worse when a vision of Richie appeared to taunt her. Aidan punched Ryan in the face and blasted him for messing with Greenlee's head. He sent Ryan's phone flying as he continued to pummel him. Ryan denied that he wanted Greenlee, then copped to his feelings but insisted that he knew Greenlee was happy with Aidan. When the men returned to their wives, they were horrified by the bruises. Annie was upset that Aidan had gone after Ryan over Greenlee; Ryan pooh-poohed her concern but she pushed and he confessed that he's been in love with Greenlee since his memory returned. Annie immediately packed up a suitcase, and her daughter, and left, despite Ryan's protests. Greenlee, meanwhile, reassured Aidan of her commitment and they made love.
