All My Children Recaps

AMC Week of August 2, 2010

Monday

Krystal conversed with Caleb, who said he was staying in town to settle a debt. He explained that Adam had once stolen something from him and that he'd almost killed him as a result. She gave Caleb intel about the Chandlers, including JR's affair with Annie. Caleb left after having an idea regarding Marissa.

Annie thanked JR for defending her to Adam. Scott called, having heard that Annie had been served with divorce papers. He was eager to celebrate. She told JR that she was ready to begin her new life with Scott. They fought to contain their attraction as they said good-bye. JR went home and promised Marissa that he'd make her happy again. She asked if he still have married her had he known he'd beat the cancer. He assured her that he would have. Marissa got a call regarding a job offer and left in a happy hurry. Meanwhile, Scott and Annie celebrated her new marital status. JR came downstairs and Scott asked him if he and Annie could use his cottage. Annie protested, thinking of her time there with JR. JR told them they could use the place anytime. He talked her into going and they left to practice for their honeymoon. At the cottage, Annie promised Scott that she would never let him down.

Angie revealed to Jesse that she is going blind. He was flabbergasted when she explained that she'd been dealing with her condition for two months. She described how she had gotten infected and broke the news that Jake knew about it. Angie then informed Jesse about how she had ceased taking the medication after learning of her pregnancy. He told her that nothing was more important to him than her and fighting her disease. She made it clear that she would not put the baby at risk to preserve her vision.

Natalia presented a surly Brot with a get well cake. He made it clear that he wanted to handle his work and his surgery on his own. Later, he collected himself and thanked her for the gifts. Brot went to the hospital and met with his surgeon, who explained the procedure he was about to undergo. Natalia came to see him. They made peace and shared a tight hug. "I care about you, too," he told her.

Marissa was startled to learn that her job interview was with Caleb. Marissa was shocked to hear that Caleb is a lawyer. He offered her a job and she said she would think about it. Caleb then called Scott and told him that he wanted to have dinner with him. "Junior is about to learn a lesson in retribution," Caleb told Krystal. Meanwhile, Marissa told JR about Caleb's job offer. An argument ensued when JR told her not to take the job.

Tuesday

David was in bed while Greenlee, on a couch nearby, watched him and fondled her wedding ring. An internal monologue began as Greens thought about how she'd fantasized about her wedding ever since she was a little girl and realizing that sometimes while trying to create a new life, you fall into the destructive traps of your old one. Later, David presented Greens with a flashy diamond necklace to help cheer her up. She was disgusted, telling him that it is sick and twisted to try to bribe her, especially after he's blackmailed her. David said he bought the necklace because it reminded him of her: strong, determined and unbreakable. She called him out no trying to control him and was outraged that he couldn't admit that what they did was wrong.

Angie woke up feeling ill but refused to call in sick, explaining to a
concerned Jesse that she's not ready to give up on her life just because of her circumstances. Jesse urged her to consider taking the medication if it will help her keep her sight, but she didn't want to discuss her dilemma right now. So, she went to the hospital, where she checked in on Ryan but couldn't authorize his release. When little Emma showed her a drawing, Angie couldn't see it. Meanwhile, David tangled with Jesse, who skipped out on his meeting with the mayor to watch over Angie at work.

Greenlee met with a prosecutor named Charles and grilled him about whether she'd go to jail. She said she's not responsible for the plane crash but he wondered if she'd still be able to pass a lie detector test. "It's hard to prove you're not guilty when you're not entirely innocent." Greens was insistent that she's being framed and was upset that she could be implicated in the other crimes. He suggested she make right with her husband. "Damn!" she said and sliced her hand on a knife. She hightailed it to the hospital, where David was there to rub salt in her wound. She demanded to see another doctor. Then, Ryan approached. Greens assured him that she's fine and went to the ER, refusing to let David treat her. So, Hayward went to harass Angie about Jesse lurking about. Jesse overheard Angie defending him and interjected to threaten David to stay away from his wife. Angie broke up the fight and thanked Jesse for looking out for her but said his presence will raise questions she's not ready to answer just yet.

Greenlee ran into Emma, who marveled at Greens's butterfly bandage and asked if Greens was scared. They visited Ryan. Greens claimed she's not scared of a thing but was really frazzled on her way out. Later, Angie found Greenlee taking a breather outside, where she told Greens about their husbands' fight. They bonded over not seeing eye-to-eye with their spouses.

Greenlee later agreed to talk to Jesse privately in her hotel room and was surprised to see Ryan there waiting for her. He pointed out that she looks Terrified, but she told him not to worry. "I'm handling it," she declared. He wasn't so sure and prodded her to explain and let him in. She urged him to stay out of it before things get worse. He begged her to let him help and suggested she file for divorce. She explained that she can't but wouldn't say why. Ryan suddenly clutched his head and was in pain. David arrived and demanded to know what's going on. Ryan told him to call 911. Later, at the hospital, Frankie told Greens that Ryan will be okay and wondered who signed off on his release. David was equally interested. Greenlee reminded Ryan that she's got everything under control, including David.

Angie went to see the mayor at the station, who was not too happy about Jesse missing his appointment. Angie defended her hubs and urged the mayor to end his suspension. Angie freaked out when her vision worsened. She tearfully called Jesse and asked him to help her. She felt her way to the interrogation room, where Jesse met her. She urged him not to throw his life away because of her condition and made it clear that she's facing her problems and she will get through it.

Greens and David grabbed a drink at ConFusion. Greens played nice and thought to herself about letting him think whatever he wants about her until she's ready to make her big move.

Wednesday

Ryan called Greenlee from his hospital bed and asked why David is stressing her out. She urged him to focus on getting better and hung up. Greens was in the middle of searching their room when David showed up. "Lose something?" he queried. She fibbed that she misplaced her watch but he wondered if she was trying to wiggle out of "our agreement." She insisted she wasn't and tried to find out more about his so-called evidence. David assured that his source is living in a place where no one will be able to find him.

Concerned about Damon and Colby, Liza called Tad to ask if he knew where they were. Tad, who was still upset over her trying to seduce his son, said he he didn't know and hung up. Damon entered but he didn't want to talk. Still, Tad pressed him and admitted that he believed Damon's account of what went down with Liza. Damon was surprised, but said that Liza would still be trying to bring him down. Tad revealed that Liza is no longer in the picture but Damon didn't want to be responsible for his dad's relationship breaking up. Damon mentioned the photos he had of Liza, then noticed Colby standing in the doorway. Damon had no choice but to confirm that Liza tried to seduce him. Liza showed up and wanted a chance to explain herself, but Colby tore into her mama. "After today, I don't have a mother anymore," Colby spat, then left with Damon. Now on an honesty kick, Liza also confessed to Tad that she switched Damon's ADHD meds with sugar pills. Tad raged at Liza for her interference, especially since it took a lot to convince Damon to take the medication.

Randi booked a photo shoot so she had to cancel her picnic with Frankie. He said he was fine with the change of plans. "You're such an amazing partner," Randi gushed. Frankie went to work where he eavesdropped on a conversation between Madison and David, who offered Madison his help in keeping Greenlee and Ryan apart. After David walked away, Frankie approached Madison and she insisted she wasn't about to take David up on his offer.

Ryan wanted to check out from the hospital early but David wouldn't allow it. Later, Ryan convinced a nurse to page David to keep him busy.... When David noticed Greenlee was wearing a new dress, she said she used his credit card to buy it. Greens sniffed that as long as she had to act like his trophy wife then she needed to dress the part ‹ on his dime. David was paged and after he left, Ryan appeared and tried to get to the bottom of her troubles. Frankie interrupted and ordered Ryan to bed but he didn't want to go. Greenlee impressed that she loves David and told Ryan to "let it go." David showed up and threatened to get a restraining order against Ryan. Greenlee stressed that her marriage is none of Ryan's business so Frankie led his patient back to his room.

Damon told Colby that they didn't have to leave Pine Valley but she insisted she wanted to leave and "never look back." ... Greenlee fantasized about telling Ryan the truth and he vowed to protect her but she was horrified when he was stricken with severe head pain. Greens snapped back to reality and assured David of her commitment to their marriage.

Thursday

Marissa was stunned when JR suggested that they have a baby together. She didn't want to discuss the matter, but JR insisted that he wanted to talk about their future as a family. Marissa pointed out that things have changed, and said they have to fix themselves first before they can think about expanding their family. Marissa added that it could happen, but not now, as she needed to concentrate on her career first. JR conceded.

At PVH, Tad told Jake that he confronted Liza and at least got to tell his son he believed him before the kids took off. Tad lamented that all this happened just when he was finally getting Damon to open up. Jake mentioned that Colby and Damon just needed to cool off, but Tad thought Damon was going to leave for good. Tad added that Liza admitted to switching out Damon's ADHD meds with placebos. Jake was stunned, but tried to be supportive. Tad was determined to find Damon and bring him home. Jake countered saying he may need to let Damon go, stating that Damon just needs time — and it needs to be his choice to come back.

Hiding out in their hotel room, Damon and Colby discussed their options. Colby was horrified to realize that she didn't bring her makeup and ran out to a drug store to buy some. After Colby left, Liza showed up. "You are unbelievable," Damon spat. Liza gave Damon his meds and confessed to what she did. Damon was shocked. Liza asked Damon to give Tad a chance to be a father, and told the teen he was very lucky to have a man like Tad in his life. Then, Liza left. Afterward, Damon listened to Tad's touching voicemail message. Colby returned and told her that Liza was there and mentioned the meds switch. "I'm done!" she huffed. Colby then called the police to have her mother arrested.

Angie stressed to Jesse that she planned to have their miracle baby, even if it meant she would go blind by doing so. Jesse argued with her about keeping this a secret, and was concerned about the prospect of the woman he loves never being able to see again. "I cannot wrap my head around that," he huffed. Angie said it was her choice, and said that she believed whatever happens, happens for a reason. Jesse reminded her that if she followed through with this decision, there was no coming back from it. Jesse said he needed some air and left the room. Angie held her belly and said, "Your daddy's going to change his mind. I promise you."

Annie told Scott that she didn't want a big wedding, because she said the whole town would all talk behind their backs and take bets on their union. She wanted something special and intimate. Scott noted that he doesn't care what other people think. "I just want to be your wife, as soon as possible," Annie replied. "I still want a cake," Scott smiled back. Annie gave him a great big hug. Afterward, Scott informed Marissa about the decision to elope. Despite her feelings for Annie, Marissa was thrilled that her friend was happy. Annie went to JR and said there wasn't going to be a wedding — she and Scott were going to elope. "That's great," he replied without smiling. "But I don't know how I'm going to be able to watch you walk down the aisle with another man."

Tad met up with Jesse and they swapped stories. Tad was thrilled to hear about the baby but saddened to hear about Angie's plight. "I'm sorry," said Tad. "Yeah, so am I," Jesse replied.

Friday

Jesse confided in Tad about Angie's decision not to take the medication to save her sight, while Angie relayed her conversation with Jesse to Jake and asked for his support. She insisted that even if she loses her eyesight, she'll never lose her memories, such as reuniting with Jesse at the train station after so many years apart. Angie wanted to talk about how her potential blindness will affect her position at the hospital and expressed her desire to have Jake replace her as chief of staff. Natalia and Frankie stopped by for a visit, and Jake excused himself to go to the hospital, happy to have the conversation over for now. When Angie announced to Frankie and Natalia that she and Jesse are going to have a baby, Natalia's jaw nearly hit the floor.

After hearing JR say he can't watch her walk down the aisle with another man, Annie backed away from him and demanded to know what it is he wants from her. "I want this tension between us to go away," he declared. They halfheartedly agreed to keep their distance from each other and Annie went to the Yacht Club to plan her quickie wedding. JR phoned Marissa and announced that he has a surprise for her: a romantic weekend just for the two of them.

In New York, Damon insisted to Colby that nothing was wrong and he's still totally in love with her. His phone vibrated and he saw that Tad was leaving him another message. Meanwhile, Jesse reminded a concerned Tad that he was about Damon's age when he and Jenny ran away to NYC. Tad insisted to Jesse that after what he learned about Liza, they're through. Later, Krystal went to Tad on Liza's behalf but Tad wasn't willing to give Liza another chance. To Tad's delight, Damon showed up at his doorstep. Colby, meanwhile, reunited with an apologetic Liza, who asked if there's anything she can do to make things up to her daughter. "Leave Pine Valley and never come back," Colby suggested. Liza tearfully watched her daughter walk away.

Krystal returned to the restaurant and ran into Marissa, who asked that she watch AJ for a few days so she and JR can have a romantic getaway at Palmer's cottage. Krystal wasn't sure she could get behind that, and she certainly wasn't keen on the idea of Marissa working for Caleb. When Marissa revealed that she and JR are talking about having a baby, Krystal advised her daughter to get her head on straight. Marissa scoffed at her mother's advice and even threw her black-market baby sale in Krystal's face. Liza headed to Krystal's after her argument with Colby and the two women commiserated over their respective battles with their daughters.

As JR prepped the cottage for his rendezvous, he couldn't get Annie off his mind. He knocked over a bunch of things and found a journal with details and sketches of Palmer's nanotech ideas. "It was Palmer's!" he exclaimed. Meanwhile, Annie and Scott were getting passionate when a call from the office came in. Scott took the call, then Annie received a call from JR claiming he's got something that'll blow Scott right out of Chandler Enterprises. Annie agreed to meet with him right away and headed to the cottage. When she got there, JR flashed an envelope in her face and asked if knows that Scott steals from dead people.

Jesse came home to find that his kids already know about their pregnancy, but Angie hadn't yet mentioned the bad news. Natalia and Frankie were both immediately concerned to hear that Angie may lose her eyesight. Once they were gone, Angie and Jesse were consumed by their mixed emotions and could barely speak to one another.
