Monday
At Ryan's, Opal screamed when she saw Annie on the patio. Aidan convinced her that her mind was playing tricks on her and sent her on her way.
At the Chandler party, David taunted JR about his newfound access to Little A (courtesy of Adam). Erica tried to get Adam to admit that he'd had another seizure. Gayle led Adam to the couch, where JR told a defensive Adam that he would never forgive him for bartering Little Adam. Marissa served food to David and berated him for playing dirty with his grandson. David, in turn, accused her of sidling up to JR to get her hands on his fortune. Krystal defended David to Marissa, who said that she no longer liked Krystal's hubby. From Dr. Chappell's hotel suite, where the doctor had hung himself, Scott called JR and told him he had to get to the Valley Inn right away.
At the hospital, Zach, who was convinced that something was wrong with Ian, insisted that Jake page Hayward. Jake called David, who agreed to come check on Ian. Zach then excused himself, ordering Kendall and Jake not to take their eyes off his son. Ryan showed up to see Kendall and Ian and encountered Angie, who told him that Frankie had been injured in Iraq. Ryan offered his deepest sympathies when she explained that his hands had suffered the brunt of the injury. Opal called Ryan to report her latest Annie sighting. Ryan was dubious but Opal urged him to go to his penthouse
to check. Opal then had another bloody vision.
Jesse questioned JR and Scott at the scene of Chappell's suicide. JR insisted to Jesse that the doc's death was a result of his loss of financial interest in the valve. After Jesse left, JR tried to keep Scott calm. He urged his cousin to hope for the best where the valve's success was concerned.
Adam went upstairs to see Little Adam. He warned the little boy that his other grandpa, David, wanted to take him away from his family. Gayle overheard David poisoning Little A against David. Gayle requested a word alone with David, telling Krystal that it concerned a patient. Krystal excused herself and Gayle told David about Adam's conversation with Little A. When Krystal asked David if they could leave and David said he wanted to check on Little A first, Krystal tried to talk him out of it; he accused her of not being on his side. He brushed past her to head upstairs, trailed by Gayle, which Erica took note of. Erica headed upstairs herself after
brushing off Opal, who came by looking for Ryan in the wake of her "vision" of Annie at his penthouse.... Krystal again tried to defend David to Marissa, who was unmoved. Upstairs in the nursery, David tried to hang out with Little Adam, but the boy didn't want to play with him. David hissed to Gayle that he could kill Adam for turning Little A against him. Erica approached Gayle and did a great job of buttering her up. After blasting Adam for turning Little A against him, David was accosted by Zach, who demanded that he come to the hospital to save his son. Back at the hospital, Jake told a panicked Kendall that something was wrong with Ian's heart,
after all. Zach and David arrived at the hospital, followed by Adam. Zach accused Adam and David of knowing more about the valve than they were letting on. Zach said that if anything happened to his son, he would kill Adam. David examined Ian as the boy's heart started to fail.... JR called
Adam to tell him about the doc's demise but Adam spoke first, telling him that there was an issue with Ian Slater.... Zach barged in as David and Jake worked to stabilize Ian. Jake asked Zach and Kendall to leave, promising them that they would do everything they could. After the Slaters left, David confessed that there had been a problem in the OR and he feared that the quick fix he had attempted during surgery wasn't holding. Zach told Kendall that Adam, David and Scott were hiding something and that Ian was going to
pay the price.... Gayle tried to convince Little A that Grandpa David is a wonderful man who would never hurt her. Erica listened to her from the hallway.
After the guests had left the mansion, Marissa apologized to Krystal for sticking her nose in her business. Krystal forgave her and they discussed how much Krystal misses Babe. Marissa could relate, as she was mourning her parents. Krystal became overwhelmed and ran out.
At the penthouse, Aidan reunited with Annie and tried to force her to go back on the run. She was determined to see Emma first. Annie's purse fell to the floor and the contents came tumbling out ‹ including a gun. Annie said it was just for protection. When Ryan returned, they were forced to flee
into the stairwell. Ryan went inside, noticing that the door had been left unlocked, and with Annie's accidentally-left-behind wallet on the floor. Ryan got a call from Kendall about Ian and rushed out before spotting the wallet. Down in the basement, where Annie had led Aidan to get her passport,
Aidan and Annie argued about whether she could go see Emma. A struggle ensued and Aidan fell down the stairs. Aidan's shoulder was dislocated. Annie told her beau that she was sorry but that she was now calling the shots. Telling Aidan that he had left her no choice, she tied him up and took his phone, assuring him that she wouldn't get caught and that she would be back after seeing Emma.
Ryan caught up with Kendall and Zach and offered solace to Kendall when she said that they didn't know what was going to happen with Ian.
Krystal arrived at Babe's grave and poured her heart out to her daughter. Krystal was stunned when Marissa showed up. "Krystal, what did you do?" she inquired.
Jesse interrupted a conversation at the hospital between JR, Adam and Scott. Adam was stunned to hear of Dr. Chappell's suicide. Zach, Ryan and Kendall observed Jesse's announcement. David then told Zach and Kendall that something was wrong with the valve. Turning to face Adam, David said, "Ask him."
Tuesday
At Babe's grave, Krystal lamented the horrible thing she had done. Marissa approached and asked her what she had done. As Krystal attempted to deflect Marissa's questions, Marissa noticed that she and Babe had the exact same birthdates. Marissa suddenly realized that Krystal is her birth mother. Krystal confirmed it and explained that she had befriended Marissa's adoptive parents, who had gotten her from an agency and didn't know of Krystal's true relationship to her. Marissa wanted to know why Krystal had kept Babe and given her away. Krystal said that she had just pointed at one of the babies but accidentally let it slip that she had sold Marissa, not
just given her up for adoption. Marissa told Krystal to stay away from her and ran off.
Erica called Gayle out for being in David's proverbial pocket, a charge Gayle denied.... Annie sneaked into the Chandler mansion to visit a snoozing Emma and hid when Gayle checked on the baby.... Erica questioned nurses at the hospital about Gayle....
At the hospital, Zach demanded to know what was wrong with Ian. David revealed that the valve that had been placed into Ian was defective and that the Chandlers had known all along. Adam denied it, placing the blame on David, who tried to attack him. Zach asked Scott for the truth and warned Adam that he would kill him if Ian died. Jesse dragged Zach out of the room and the Chandler men conferred, with Adam wanting them to put up a united, and silent, front.... While Jesse tried to calm down Zach, David explained to Kendall and Ryan that a machine would do the breathing for Ian while he got his strength back up to undergo another surgery. Kendall reconvened with Zach to, as he put it, "pray and wait." Zach questioned his ability to keep going; Kendall tried to comfort him. When David returned, Zach bolted. David
vowed to Kendall that he would make things right. David then accosted Adam and railed at him for trying to poison Little A against him. Adam told David that he should focus on his own child. David's eyes widened. Adam indicated that Marissa is Krystal's daughter. David said that he would kill Adam if it turned out to be true.... Ryan told Erica that Ian's valve is failing. Erica
then walked in as David was threatening Adam. "Take me home," said Adam to Erica. Back at the house, Adam reluctantly admitted to Erica that he had advance knowledge of the valve being defective. She was horrified by the betrayal of trust and told him to go to hell. He tried to stop her from leaving, telling her that Erica was all he had left. "I've finally gone too far," Adam told her. Adam added that he had changed his will, naming her as the executor. After reading him the riot act again, Erica turned to leave, but she turned back when she saw Gayle about to give David another dose of medication.... A nurse reported to Kendall that Zach had left with an odd look on his face.
Scott and Adam went to the yacht club for a damage control meeting with Barry, who wanted to try to lay the blame at David's feet. Scott was repulsed by the tactics. Marissa burst in to the club to quit; JR heard her saying that she was leaving town and asked her what was wrong. She was evasive... Scott and JR agreed to work together to try to fix Adam's mess.
David came home and confronted Krystal about Marissa. "I know," he told her. Krystal told David that as of that night, Marissa knew as well. David tried to absorb that he had another daughter and that Krystal was never going to tell him. Livid, David demanded to know how he could do this. "Go ahead and kill me," wept Krystal. "I deserve it!" Marissa arrived and told David not to.
Ryan came to the Chandlers to see his daughter, forcing Emma to hide once again.
Wednesday
At the hospital, Jesse tried to talk Angie out of her desire to go to Germany, reminding her that Brot and Randi will take good care of Frankie. Kendall approached and admitted to Jesse that she didn't know where Zach had gone. She was concerned.... Angie spoke to Randi briefly but lost the connection.
In the basement, Aidan was in intense pain and called out for Annie.... Annie hid outside of the Chandler nursery as Ryan pooh-poohed Emma's notion that Annie was there.... Annie returned and apologized to Aidan, insisting that she still loves him but cannot live without Emma. Annie sensed that Aidan was trying to trick her into releasing him, which he denied. She brandished a knife. Annie declared that she would get Emma back on her own, "and God help anyone who gets in my way."
At the Chandler manse, Erica revealed to Adam that Gayle is a spy for David. Gayle denied it but said that she would have the hospital send another nurse to Adam. Adam claimed that he had been on to Gayle the whole time. Zach then barged in, telling Adam that he was there seeking justice. Adam said that he didn't know about the valve until it was too late. Ryan came downstairs and he and Erica beseeched Zach not to make a mistake that would keep him from Ian. Adam thanked Erica for standing by him but she stated that if anything
happened to Ian, he deserved what was coming to him. Ryan tried to lead Zach out but Zach changed his mind and knocked out Ryan before barging back into the study. While Zach marked with a pen the place on Adam's forehead where
he intended to shoot him if anything happened to Ian, Jesse and Kendall entered. Adam demanded that Jesse arrest Zach. Jesse refused but said that he would keep Zach away from Adam, JR and Scott. Jesse then urged Zach not to destroy his life. Zach and Kendall returned to Ian's side and he assured
her that he doesn't blame her for Ian's situation even though she pushed for the valve to be used. Kendall noted that if Ian died, Zach would probably be taken into custody to protect Adam, so she vowed that if Ian died, she would kill Adam herself. Zach worried about Spike. Kendall vowed that she could kill Adam and get away with it. Ryan walked in on their conversation and demanded to know what was going on. Kendall would say only that she and Zach had come to an understanding. When Ryan pressed her again, Kendall said that she and Zach had been discussing "contingency plans for
the future." She added that he could help by never asking her about it again.
At Wildwind, Marissa announced to David and Krystal that the parents who raised her were her only parents. She denounced their obsession with Babe. David tried to get her to reconsider but she was adamant. Krystal ran out, upset. Marissa made it clear to David that she wouldn't fall for his
attempts to manipulate her. "Good-bye, Daddy," she said acerbically before exiting.
At the yacht club, Scott faced the music with the press regarding the faulty valve. Marissa came to collect her check and revealed to JR that she is Babe's twin. JR accused her of playing a sick joke but Marissa said it was true, that Krystal had put her up for adoption. JR said that he wished Marissa had never told him and stormed off. Scott asked Marissa what was wrong with JR. "He just saw a ghost," sighed Marissa. She vented to Scott about David and Krystal.
A frantic Krystal came to the hospital and encountered Angie. She revealed her relationship to Marissa to Angie, who urged her not to give up on her daughter.
David paid a visit to Babe's grave, telling his late daughter that she has a sister. "I have a horrible feeling she's a great deal like me," sighed David. Krystal arrived and tried to explain to David why she had given Marissa away.
Back at the manse, Adam grabbed a gun for his own protection and when JR entered, Adam pointed the gun at him (not knowing who was coming through the door). Adam lowered the weapon but refused to hand it over to JR, claiming that he needed it for protection. He did put it back in the drawer.
Thursday
David picked up Little A for a trip to the zoo. Adam asked David why he hadn't thanked him for "your long lost daughter." Little A didn't want to leave his daddy JR's arms. David was angry that Adam kept feeding Little A lies about him. David tried to convince Little A that he loved him very
much. That didn't work so he left. Adam smiled. Colby bounced in with Emma. They agreed to all watch a Disney video and have ice cream at home. JR didn't want Adam to screw with Little A's mind. Adam assured his son that he
had things under control. JR suggested his father lay low. "Half the town is gunning for you," JR said. Scott walked in and learned that in the event of Adam's demise Adam would be leaving Chandler Enterprises to Scott. Scott didn't want it. "Not like this," Scott said. Scott told his cousin that he had no idea that was the plan. JR took Adam's gun out of the drawer. JR smiled. "I'm too much of a coward. Just ask my father," JR chuckled. JR poured them some drinks. "You don't need the drink" Scott said before he left the room. JR took a sip. Adam looked at his gun lovingly. Crystal entered Adam's living room. Once the light went back on, she turned and saw
Adam pointing the gun at her. "Oh. It's just you," he said. Krystal blamed Adam for all the misery in her life. She grabbed Adam's gun and pointed it at him. Adam sat there calmly.
Marissa told her parents she had overheard them talking at the cemetery about having to sell one baby to take care of a another. She admitted that she was still pissed but agreed that they didn't have a whole bunch of options. "I should have raised both of my daughters. You must hate me," Krystal said. Marissa shook her head. Marissa rejected Krystal's attempt to forge a relationship. "You don't mean that," David said. Marissa shook her head and then repeated that she didn't want to see either of them again. Krystal begged Marissa to stay. "Let it go," David said as he suggested Marissa leave town as soon as possible. He said he probably would become
obsessed with her as he had with Babe and Little A. Marissa left. Krystal was stunned that he did that. "You should leave too," he added. "I don't want you here," he said cruelly. David rattled off all the things Adam had done to hurt them. David wondered what other secrets Krystal might be keeping. She said there were none. David accused her of not trusting him. David got a call and had to leave. "I can not lose you too," Krystal pleaded. Krystal looked at the family photos on a cabinet, grabbed her purse and headed out.
David returned to the hospital and asked Jake how Ian was. David was angry with his decision to rely on Adam Chandler and that valve. "I have to tell Ian's parents that he's going to die," David said sadly.
Marissa walked around the bus station not sure of what to do.
Tad and Jesse were working on the Satin Slayer murder mystery. Opal envisioned Ryan sitting somewhere covered with blood and Opal proceeded to have a meltdown. She predicted that someone was going to die tomorrow. Tad
and Jesse reviewed the fact that Adam had tied a ribbon to the gate. Apparently Adam had also fired the gardener after Dixie died. Jesse didn't think that was enough evidence. Tad was convinced that Adam had killed Dixie. JR walked into Tad's living room. JR couldn't believe that Tad thought his father had killed his mother. "You have been drinking," Tad
observed. JR nodded. Tad didn't think JR needed Chandler Enterprises to "be your own man." Opal charged in. Somebody's got to stop him," JR announced referring to Adam. JR disappeared when the room went dark for a moment.
Kendall told Zach Ian was fine. She admitted she feared that Zach had gone "to take care of Adam." Zach assured Ryan that he would not desert Ian. Opal found Ryan and she told him she had seen him covered in blood. Ryan tried to calm her down. Opal let it slip that Aidan had been at Ryan's penthouse. Ryan asked Jesse to arrest Aidan and check out Annie. Jesse assured Ryan that he'd know if Annie were missing.
Zach and Kendall looked at Ian in his hospital crib. If Ian dies, "I will make Adam Chandler die for what he did to our son," Kendall said solemnly. David told Zach and Kendall that Ian would died before the morning. Kendall wept in Zach's arms. Kendall wouldn't accept David prognosis. All of a sudden, the machines went off by Ian's bed. "I'm sorry," the nurse said. Jesse stopped Zach from tracking down Adam. Zach and Kendall nodded and Kendall rushed out of the hospital.
Stuart asked Scott how he was. Scott no longer thought he (Scott) was a good guy because of the valve malfunction. "I refused to see the downside," he told his father. "I put a kid at risk," he said. Scott did say he still believed in the valve. "I just want you to be proud of me," Scott said giving Stuart a big hug. "Little Ian Slater is going to be okay," Stuart assured him. Scott said he preferred Stuart's way of love better than Uncle Adam's. Scott and Stuart made a date to go fishing. Adam told Stuart that he planned to leave Chandler Enterprises to Scott when he (Adam) was gone. Stuart was stunned. Adam thought Scott had an instinct for business but
"needed a little shaping." Adam didn't think he had that much time to live. "Scott came home for a reason," Adam said thinking that heading up Chandler Enterprises might be Scott's destiny.
Friday
At the hospital, Zach and Kendall watched over Ian. Ian's heart stopped beating, and Kendall started screaming "No, no, no, no — please help him!" Zach rushed off to find Adam, but was restrained by Jesse. When Zach seemed calmer, he told Jesse he was going to see Ian. Angie and Jake were trying feverishly to get a pulse on Ian.
Zach, in a fog, heard Angie say, "There's nothing more we can do." Zach was watching everything in slow motion. Zach left as Jake was still trying to resuscitate Ian. Ryan watched him go, and asked Jesse to leave Zach alone, then lied and told Jesse that Zach went to the chapel with Kendall to pray.
Jake continued trying to get Ian to breathe and finally, he was successful. Angie said, wondrously, "He's alive!" Jesse found Ryan, told him Ian was alive, and sent him after Zach and Kendall.
Annie had tied up Aidan in the basement of Ryan's nanny's building. She apologized, but said Emma was at the Chandler mansion and wasn't safe. Annie was going to get Emma and leave town with her, despite Aidan's protests that it would only make her situation worse. Annie said she wished it hadn't been this way, but left Aidan tied up. He got loose and headed to the Chandler mansion to stop her.
David was already at the Chandler estate, by the entrance, holding a gun. JR knocked him out and took the gun for himself. When David awoke, he went into the mansion, followed shortly by Kendall, who recalled saying, "If Ian dies, I'll kill Adam."
Krystal was inside the mansion, holding a gun on Adam. They argued, and Adam taunted her, moving toward her, and said to go ahead: "Pull the damned trigger!" Krystal told him to shut up — and that everything was Adam's fault. Adam mockingly agreed: "Of course it is. Everyone in this whole damned town is my fault! Pull the trigger and their problems die with me." She did, but the gun misfired.
JR walked in and Adam told him to take care of Krystal, as she had just tried to kill him. JR, drunk, responded that "I guess it's my turn, then." Krystal ran off. Adam called his son a pathetic drunk. JR noted in that case, it was a good that he had lots of bullets. JR called Adam "a sick evil excuse for a man who tried to kill my wife and ended up killing my mother." Adam protested that family was everything to him. JR laughed. Adam asked JR to help him, because there others would try to kill him. JR said David Hayward would be next. When Adam asked why, JR said, "Where do you think I got the gun?"
Tad, concerned about Adam's and Little A's safety, showed up in time to convince JR to give him the gun. Tad promised JR that they found that Adam did kill Dixie, Tad and Jesse would make sure Adam was punished. Tad grabbed Adam and told him he was going to the police for his own safety.
Krystal ran into David outside the estate. She told him that she almost killed Adam. An angry David stated he wanted to kill Adam himself, and added, "Adam is a dead man!"
Little A and Emma were watching TV at the mansion in his bedroom. Annie was getting ready to enter the house when Stuart showed up. He asked what she was doing there: "I thought you were running from the police?" Annie lied and told Stuart those charges were dropped. Stuart said he should talk to Adam first. Annie pretended to change her mind about seeing Emma, and left. Stuart headed into the house. Annie doubled back and was right behind him.
Kendall, hiding inside behind a sofa, heard high heels clacking on the floor. Annie found the fuse box and turned off all the lights. In the foyer, Adam hit Tad with a crowbar, knocking him out, and said he wasn't confessing to anything. Kendall found a gun on the floor, and then found a confused Tad, who spoke her name. She left him on the floor. Zach was also at the mansion, and he found another gun on the floor.
Tad regained consciousness and ran into Krystal outside. Tad wanted to know if David had a gun. Krystal said she was using Adam's gun, but one of the chambers was empty. She dropped the gun in the parlor, and Tad said he dropped his gun in the foyer. Tad promised to go in and check on David, if Krystal left.
David found Little A calling for his father, and took him back to bed. David saw Emma in Little A's room. He told them both to stay there and keep the door closed while he "settled something with Little A's grandpa."
Someone shined a flashlight on JR and threw water on him. Annie found Emma's room, and told Emma she had to leave with Annie. Adam entered the room, but left when he realized someone other than the children was inside. Annie followed him, getting her gun out of her purse. Adam slipped into a room to hide, with Annie following him, and Tad following Annie.
Kendall saw Adam from another window in the mansion. She held her gun up and said, "Ian, this is for you." Zach and David also cocked their guns, ready to shoot. Adam was spinning in circles, trying to figure out his next move and who was after him.
Back at the hospital, Angie noted Ian was miraculously hanging in. Jesse knew Zach and Kendall weren't at the PVH chapel. He called the station and asked for police backup at the hospital and at Adam's house. Ryan showed up at the mansion and, once inside, spied Kendall.
Opal and Aidan arrived at the mansion, and ran into Krystal at the gates, where they heard a shot fired. Adam went down. As he lay on the floor, he reran all the threats of those who wanted to kill him in his head.
