So, I started watching GUIDING LIGHT again this week. Yes, it appears we've kissed and made up. Mind you, I'm still seeing DAYS OF OUR LIVES at random hours and in between seeing ATWT. (I'm so promiscuous!) At any rate, now that GL and I are on again, I'm heartbroken by the fact that Bill and Lizzie are still off again. :( Just watching Daniel Cosgrove and Marcy Rylan together for a few minutes is enough to showcase that GL's biggest mishap (next to backburnering Kim Zimmer's Reva) is how they have broken up so many functioning and wonderful couples just to create pairs that evoke a big ol' "meh." Cosgrove and Rylan have the kind of tempestuous chemistry and engaging humor that every soap needs in a banner couple, and the only thing that was harder to believe than Bill impetuously proposing to Ava during the Lewis shindig was the fact that wee Lizzie could still be standing after all the liquor she downed. That's not to say Ava and her portrayer Michelle Ray Smith are chopped liver. Ava and Remy are great together, so why trump up all this unnecessary Ava/Bill stuff?

As I wrote last week, I have had, on behalf of the Tad/Dixie fans so let down by the show's resurrection and subsequent re-killing of the character last year, mixed feelings about what they've done with Cady McClain's alter ego this time around, at least when it comes to her actual interactions (or lack thereof) with Michael E. Knight's Tad (not to mention the character's son, Jacob Young's JR).

It's no secret that many of the characters on PASSIONS are — how shall I say this politely — dense, but you'd think that if Juanita is as dangerous as Pilar says, they'd leave town sooner rather than later.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the ONE LIFE TO LIVE 40th Anniversary Tribute at the Paley Center with Digest's Stephanie Sloane and Weekly's Gabby Winkel. To our delight, the event kicked off with a reel of clips old and new, from a 1985 location shoot in Venice to the various musical appearances from over the years (I even caught a glimpse of myself dancing at the Timbaland performance!).

Last night was the season finale of GREEK, and the theme was Spring Break. Hey, I'm easy; all the show had to do to win a favorable review was show me Spencer Grammer (Casey) in a bikini. And the show took care of that requirement before the opening credits. Passing grade.

So, I'm still talking (to anyone who will listen) about how great Bree Williamson (Jessica) was in last week's ONE LIFE TO LIVE episodes. I was thrilled to notice that she was being praised all over the 'Net. As well she should be — she was terrific.

As I expected, DOCTOR WHO kicked off with a bit of chicanery, as "The Doctor's Daughter" was not exactly what she seemed to be. (But she was also more — see my note at the very end of this section.) To the show's credit, it didn't try to pretend "Jenny" was anything other than a sort of clone grown from the Doctor's genetic material.

SWINGTOWN, the new nighttime soap on CBS, is set in 1976 — and, ironically, this show never could have aired back in the actual '70s. In fact, there is some debate over whether it can air in 200 ... at least on CBS.

Did anyone else think the scenes wherei GL's Rafe shot Jeffrey last week were a little anticlimactic and boring? I don't even think I heard the gunfire!

I couldn't believe when Y&R's Jack, feeling sorry for downtrodden Gloria, invited her to live in his pool house.
