With all the sadness surrounding Colleen's storyline on YOUNG AND RESTLESS, it's been a relief to watch the much more lighthearted scenes featuring the Chancellors and the Bardwells. Gloria's desperate attempts to get money are always amusing, and her pairing up with Deacon to get the Terroni painting has added some life to a dull storyline. Also, Amber's attempts to impersonate Gloria so she could get into the late Tom's safe deposit box were hilarious; she definitely looked the part as she donned a big, black hat and sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Kay and Murphy's barbecue was chock full of interesting encounters: Nina tried to keep Chloe away from Chance, Chance gave Chloe a really sweet gift for Cordelia (GCPD baby clothes — aww!), Kay told Jill that she wanted to stop fighting with her — and then angered a broke Jill when she reminded her that she owed her share of the property taxes. Later, Kay finally followed Jill to the salon and learned of Jill's new job. The reveal is sure to add a new dynamic to their always-complex relationship.

As great as Y&R is when it comes to drama, I always enjoy the scenes that concentrate on family — and make me smile.
