By Naomi Rabinowitz Posted: Jan 7, 2011If you read my blog with any regularity, you know that I prefer well-acted, character-driven scenes over the action/adventure/medical drama storylines. That said, I really enjoyed Thursday's (Jan. 6) scenes on BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL in which a contrite Whip confessed to Taylor that he'd been the one to orchestrate Brooke and Thomas's steamy "encounter" and put a photo of them online.
Taylor was, of course, shocked and appalled — as she should've been — but for once, the shrink, who's frankly gone a little off the rails when it comes to the idea of Brooke and Thomas, listened to what her hubby had to say. Whip explained how he's been feeling marginalized by Ridge's presence in her life and that as ill-conceived as his scheme was, he did it in attempt to make Ridge look bad for promoting the Taboo line. A sympathetic Taylor apologized for making Whip feel so insecure and then Whip apologized for his actions. They then made up, with him promising that he'd never plot anything like this again. Imagine that — adults actually having a mature conversation and working things out by communicating! Sadly, this doesn't happen too often on soaps.
I'm sure that Whip and Taylor will have more obstacles to deal with in the near future (it is a soap, after all), but for now, I was pleased to see them work on their relationship with so much respect and understanding.
