I loved the scenes today on OLTL, where Echo talked to Shane about the online bullying he's been enduring, until now, in silence. The boy's defensive reaction, and Echo's protective but tentative push for the truth, rang so true: like Shane, kids are too embarrassed to open up about this all-too-common situation, while many adults assume Internet bullying is something they read about in the headlines, not on their own child's laptop. Austin Williams was spot on as a tormented kid unwilling to go public with his pain, and Kim Zimmer showed a side to Echo we can't help but warm to, playing the anxious grandma determined to help with an endearing mix of indignation, confusion and compassion. Added bonus: are there any two actors on soaps who look like they really are related?!
