I have very mixed feelings about Billy and Victoria's current story on Y&R. On the one hand, I like them as a couple, so I want them to be happy. I want Victoria to have the baby that she longs for. So far though, I'm not completely sold on Billy's plan to "get" a baby by shady means.

I've enjoyed the scenes between Billy and black market baby dealer, Primrose, but I don't think that there's any way that this can end well. Plus, Y&R recently aired the storyline where Ashley was unknowingly raising Nick and Sharon's baby. To me, this feels a bit too similar a tale; it's not quite a baby switch, but close.

I think that Victoria's desire to be a mother again is very realistic, especially given her long history of fertility struggles. I've had friends and relatives who've gone through hell to become parents, having had to deal with fertility treatments and costly medical bills. I'd like to see something like this play out for Billy and Victoria rather than this outlandish plot. We saw a little bit of this with Mac becoming the surrogate for Lily and Cane's twins, but let's face it — they didn't face many obstacles. Mac got pregnant right away, Lily got her babies and recovered from her cancer, and then Mac had her own baby. Everyone ended up happy in this particular case.

That said, I think it would be interesting to see Billy and Victoria deal with some REAL issues that couples go through when trying to have a baby. I'd also like more scenes focusing on their extended family. Billy's daughter, Delia, and Victoria's son, Reed, don't seem to have problems with being shuffled back and forth between parents, but there must be some strong feelings there.

Good soap stories focus on family and relationships. There are plenty of good tales to be mined from "Villy" if they're presented in a relatable way.
