IDOL Guest Blogger!

So the Top 10 took on the classics of prolific songwriter Billy Joel this past week, and it seemed as though some of these songs were custom-made for the contestants. It was almost as if Joel wrote "Piano Man" specifically for Colton, "Everybody Has A Dream" for Jessica, "Vienna" for Elise, and "Movin' Out" for Phillip. These four blew away the competition, sailing through to the next round and moving into the Idol mansion. A fifth contestant also made quite an impact. Chopping off and dyeing her hair, as well as singing the classic "New York State of Mind" as a Rhode Island native, Erika actually pulled it off and did a great job…or at least that's how it seemed. When it came to Thursday night's eliminations, she surprisingly found herself alongside Heejun and DeAndre in the bottom three. After being told she had received the lowest number of votes, she sang for her life and left it all out on the stage. Unfortunately, the judges decided not to save her, despite the powerful performance she gave. So with Heejun and DeAndre moving into the mansion with the other seven Idols, we now have our Top 9 and find ourselves one step closer to finding the next American Idol. Any early predictions of who it’s gonna be?! Let me know on Twitter @robbierosenlive!. Talk to ya soon! Excited to see what next week brings!
