By Danielle McClure Posted: Feb 18, 2011Like most OLTL viewers, I was instantly curious about Clint's hilarious DNA test switching assistant Vimal and was eager to get the deets on his portrayer. Well, yesterday I finally got the chance when I chatted with newcomer Nick Choksi for an upcoming feature in Digest (it's gonna be good!). I have to say, I'm just as much of a fan of him off-screen as I am of his Llanview alter. Choksi, a fellow Midwesterner (he hails from St. Louis, Missouri), is charming, effusive and, okay, really adorable. I was surprised to learn many things about Choksi, including the fact that he's a Juilliard grad, plays the guitar and is also an animator! It's a hobby he's been exploring for a while using a computer program called Anime Studio Pro. "I've always done cartoons," he shares. "When I was at Juilliard, I did comics for the school paper, like silly little cartoons. Then I got this computer animation software so I made one the summer before my fourth year of school. It's silly and about a cow. I basically just made it to teach myself this program and then I made a bunch of cartoon titles for Three-Penny Opera [at Juilliard]. I'm working on a new one now. It will probably be ready by spring." Check out his first full cartoon, Tipped, here: YouTube.com. Be sure to check out the 3/29 issue of Digest for other must-know facts about Choksi.
