For the second year in a row, I attended the annual ONE LIFE TO LIVE fan club luncheon, and I have to give props to the 24 actors who braved Times Square on a Saturday afternoon to meet their fans. Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio) and BethAnn Bonner (Talia) served as a dynamic emcee team, running around the room during the Q&A and occasionally injecting their own commentary on the session. De los Reyes translated one Spanish-speaking fan's question and quipped to a delinquent viewer "What show are you watching?" when she asked John Brotherton when the Buchanans are going to find out he's not one of them. Another highlight was Thom Christopher (Carlo) getting misty-eyed as he thanked the fans for helping OLTL reach 40 years on the air, and Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) graciously offering to call one fan's elderly mom after the Q&A. Of course, there was a mad dash for Trevor St. John's (Todd) autograph table, but the surprise hot ticket of the day was newbie Mark Lawson (Brody), who fielded one question after another on his storyline, his background and how long he'll be sticking around Llanview (he signed a four-year contract in March). There were also several pleas for fans to write in to the powers that be and make their desires known, so if you want to see more Layla, Shaun, Markko, etc., get those pens (or keyboards) ready!
