I am giddy over the just-breaking news of Vincent Irizarry's return to AMC as David. Irizarry was a huge (and very popular) asset to the show during his multiyear tenure and I felt that his sudden 2006 exit, a cost-cutting measure, left a serious gap. 2006 was a year that saw many popular vets leave the show, most egregiously, I would argue, Julia Barr's Brooke, but Vincent's David didn't get a send-off much more ceremonial than her awful non-exit, and I'm very pleased that this actor, who was such a team player for the show and generous with the press, will be back to tie up David's loose ends and, of course, get him involved in all sorts of new mischief.
