And I thought my family was crazy! Janet, Teri and Liberty's trip to Melrose Park (heh) to visit Eddie and Aunt Marie on ATWT was enlightening, outrageous and, yes, even a little entertaining. That Ciccone clan sure is an offensive, obnoxious bunch. I couldn't help but to giggle, though, over crazy cigarette smokin' Aunt Marie and her ridiculously scathing commentary. What a character. So over-the-top! Her banter with Teri and Liberty was kind of fun, actually. I really liked seeing nuLib show her sassy side again as she stood up against her ornery aunt. (Thank goodness the girl's still got moxie! I was getting worried there for a while.)
Marie: You got one of them disorders or something?
Marie: No, the other one, where you don't eat. You're thin as a rail.
Lib: Chemo can do that.
Marie: Oh, that stuff's poison. You know that, don’t you?
Lib: Actually it's helped.
Marie: No telling what it's going to do to you down the line.
Lib: Are you really this awful or am I just in the middle of the world's worst daymare?
Ha! And while I'm probably in the minority here, I'm glad we got to see more of Janet's roots and it really did explain A LOT about who she is and why she still has some major emotional hang ups when it comes to love and family. I delve deeper into this trip in an upcoming issue of Digest where I give Julie Pinson some major props for her touching scenes. Stay tuned!
