Although OLTL's Trevor St. John did not establish the role of Todd and his bizarre rivalry/obsession with Marty that had me riveted in the 1990s, his chemistry with Susan Haskell has drawn me in since her 2008 return. After chewing Marty out for her own son's behavior in today's episode, he suddenly began to act like her patient, asking how he could possibly win Danielle's affection. But Marty managed to stifle her sympathetic nature, emitting a little ironic laugh, and informed him that he cannot control people. Before showing him the door, she huffed, "We are all, all of us going to be happy and there is nothing you can do about!" This is a point many Llanview denizens have had to drill home, but it never loses its impact when Marty says it. With a chilling look in his eye, Todd shot back, "We'll see ... we'll see," which made Marty's ominous fall down the stairs (by leather-gloved hands, of course!) even more curious. Whether Todd did or didn't push her, today's confrontation will surely come back to haunt both of them, and I can't wait to see how it all plays out.
