When Bill Hayes joined DAYS in 1970, he had already amassed an impressive resume. As a singer/entertainer, Hayes earned a gold record and made frequent appearances on Sid Caesar's YOUR SHOW OF SHOWS. What was supposed to be a short-term gig as Bill's prison cellmate led to the actor signing a contract in Salem. His magical pairing with Susan Seaforth (Julie) yielded DAYS's first supercouple, a real-life romance and marriage and a Time magazine cover in 1976. At the height of their daytime popularity, the duo penned a column in Digest called "Days With The Hayes". Hayes continued to perform over the years, and released an album, This Is Bill Hayes. In November 2010, he wowed the crowd at the soap's 45th anniversary party with his rendition of "I'm Too Sexy." When they're not in Salem, the Hayeses enjoy traveling the globe.
