Hi, I've been a loyal soap viewer all of my life and I have to say how disspointed I was in this years Emmy race!! First off the younger leading actress catagory didn't recognize starts like the actress who plays Starr Manning on OLTL and Maxie Jones on GH. Even Sam OLTL got more airtime then the actresses on Y & R. Also, this year at the Emmys almost the same actresses and actors won in the same catagories as they have for the past few years now, its time to give the Emmys to a new crop of actors/actresses! Daytime Emmys you just lost a viewer.

I sort of/kind of agree with you Jayme. As I was watching the nominees' reel when they were announcing the winners, I was a bit stunned that the same people won again. Jennifer Landon (3 times), Tom Pelphrey (2 times), Gina Tognoni (2 times) and Anthony Geary (6 times). I so thought that Anthony Geary didn't have a full body of work to get a nomination, much less a win. He's good, but Christian LeBlanc and/or Peter Bergman were MUCH stronger this year than Anthony was. I was stunned that they gave Jeanne Cooper the Lead Actress win, it's about time, after all this time. But, if I was voting based on the reel that I saw on the screen, my vote would have been for Nicole Forester. Anyways, in the words of Tyra Banks, if you don't like what I said - then kiss my fat @$$!!! :)

What a joke! Year after year whomever votes on the winners gets it wrong! The best did not win. While I agree that Jeanne and Anthony are great for daytime the past year was not their best. Thanks goodness I do not put my stock into what the panel of voters think. Let the viewers vote!

I'm so happy that Jeanne Cooper finally won a well-deserved Emmy. Katherine Chancellor is the best!

Once again Days was ignored. But the nominations were not right for the show. Allison Sweeney as Sami/Coleen was spectacular and Kristin Alphonso (Hope) is splendid for especially when Zach died, and Diedra Hall (Marlena) when John "died" to name a couple that were missed. At least Rachael as Chelsea was nominated. But Tony had just came back recently so it should have been James Scott as EJ/Santo, Peter Reckel as Bo for lead actor. And the show itself should have nominated for drama series. Oh well, we Days fans know where the awards should go.

I agree with Margie. Days of Our Lives it seems is not taken seriously. Best Hairstylists????? Whatever. What about the wonderful talent on this show? Deidre Hall and Peggy McKay theres some leading ladies! The Emmy Gods need to start paying attention to this show!

Very disappointed with the Daytime Emmys this year & I for one am tired of seeing the same people nominated year after year after year. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that those nominated aren't good actors but there are so many other actors/actresses that are just as worthy to be nominated & actually win, but are over-looked every year. According to the list of nominees, the actors on ABC & NBC should not even have bothered submitting any of their work. One actor that is constantly being pushed aside is Tyler Christopher (Nikolas, GH). I remember him being nominated once but's that all..please correct me if I'm wrong. Trevor St. John (Todd, OLTL) not being nominated last year still blows my mind. His performance was so great but no recognition whatsoever by the industry. Don't even get me started on DOOL. I was actually shocked by Thaao P.'s nomination. Way over due for that nom. There has to be a better way of selecting the nominees than what is in place now

I have to agree with many of the comments here. I'm a loyal soap watcher--even though I work full-time. There were so many others who had great work this past year--Alicia Minshew as Kendell on AMC. Come on! The show basically revolves around her, and she does an excellent job! Kristen Alderson as Starr Manning carried huge storyline! And Katherine Kelly Lang on B&B--hello??!! If the daytime Emmys want to be taken seriously, they really need to step up their nomination and voting process!! I just pointed out a few of the obvious, there are so many others I could mention here ... and some of you already did. The common theme is this year's nominees were not a true reflection of the great work we see every day!

SHAME ON THE EMMYS. I can't tell you how disappointing it is that the Daytime Emmys do not follow the format of the primetime emmys. I'd rather forego the stupid crap about the dumb table cameras, and have spent the time on an "In Memoriam" segment. Shame, shame, on the emmys for snubbing the deceased.

Posted Sun Jun22, 2008, 10:09 PM — By Alexander

If anyone saw the scenes where John "died" they know just how bad DAYS has been ignored. Deirdre Hall gave her best work this year, and nothing, yet Val Bloom, and three other nothing actresses from Y&R get nominations? Guiding light for best show? really? isn't this the show shot on Cell Phone Camera's? I have the cure for daytime: Stop with dumb gimmicks, and lame plots surrounding bombs, syringes, babies, and other such total crap, and play up the daily human interactions. Make them laugh, cry, and root for you. OLTL, GH and Days have been on top of there game using these principles of late, any wonder why they are doing better than last year?

Once again the awards show missed it again! I never seem to be able to catch the awards show, but when I saw who won I was like, WHAT?! I think Jeanne Cooper from Young and the Restless was long overdue for an emmy. Anthony Geary? Talented, but not his best work by far. Maybe they should start looking at who is choosing the winners and revamp the system. Let the viewers have some say in who wins. That would be nice.

YAY! for GH and For Anthony Geary(Luke) hurray them two are my favorites. and it's about time he got his. congrats to the show and to Anthony.

This years show was the worst I've ever seen, and I've been watching many years. I have to agree with mostly everyone on here, the nominatios were not fair. Days gets snubbed every year, the younger actress catagory don't even get me started! I have to add my disapointment on the pathetic presentation for Regis. This man is on T.V. for how many years and not even Kathy Lee, or Susan Lucci or even David Letterman say anything. I wonder if he thinks why did I even show up. I think I watched my last year of Emmy

Posted Mon Jun23, 2008, 7:17 PM — By generalhospitalfanatic

Anthony Geary is in a class by himself! The show where he portrayed himself in hell- as the judge, prosecutor, defendent and defense lawyer was one of the funniest and best shows I have ever seen. Anthony Geary was at his best. I love General Hospital and feel that many of its very fine actors and actresses were robbed of nominations. As a 40+ yr. fan, there is no other soap opera that compares. BTW, BRING BACK GENIE FRANCIS.Yea, Vanessa Marcil would be great but it would be fantastic to see Genie and Jane Elliot fighting over Tony.

The award show miss it again.I think it just a popularity contest. So I did not watch it.

Posted Wed Jun25, 2008, 5:40 PM — By Susan

I don't watch any of the other shows so I can't really speak for the talent or lack thereof, but I am SO tired of Days of Our Lives never, ever receiving any respect. For the first year in I don't even know how long they finally receive more than one token nomination (if even that in most years) but don't take home a single one. DOOL and The View are the only reasons I even watched the Emmys and neither show got a single award. Oh well; maybe next year.

There must be something wrong if the people from the least watched Soaps win all the time and those that are the most watched seldom do. Can you imagine if this happened in sports? Let me tell you the way it works: "IF YOU COME FIRST YOU WIN". Is this a concept too difficult to grasp? I wonder!

I was disappointed again, which is not surprising. I'm still in awe that the 3 YR girls got nominated when they had no story for a whole year yet Christel Khalil, Kirsten Storms and Kristen Alderson don't get nominated. Based on what I've seen, and read about the judging, seems to me CBS bloc voted to make sure no ABC actresses got on the nomination list, especially the younger actresses. That way, Jennifer Landon would do a 3 peat. It was her last chance. Rachel is a good actress but everyone knows Jen would've beaten her just because of her past work. Anyone who thinks otherwise is in denial. Had Kristen, Kirsten and Christel been on that Emmy ballot, Jen would've had REAL competition. Very sad. The Emmys need to be revamped and ideas used from viewers not the networks. Bloc voting should be outlawed or punished. IF you won the year prior, you should automatically be removed from the next years consideration. At this point, they're a joke.

It is very disappointing and tiring to continue to see the same actors/actresses nominated or winning all the time!! Each soap should have the same amount of nominations to be submitted for each category! That way, every soap would be represented fairly!! There has to be a better way to judge each nominees work!!! I have been a soap fan since I was a little girl! However, instead of the emmys improving, it's getting worse! I will not name my favorite soaps because that's not the issue at hand!! I can't understand how people that have major storylines throughout the year aren't even nominated for their work. But of course, I've learned everything is political even in the soap world too!!!
