1990

More than 400 people attended the black-tie Soap Opera Digest Awards at the Beverly Hills Hilton in January 1990. Terry Lester (Mason, SANTA BARBARA) and Dixie Carter hosted the event at which SB bested DAYS OF OUR LIVES, taking home the award for Outstanding Daytime Soap. SB had a triumphant night, scoring eight awards in all.

DAYS recouped when Frances Reid and Macdonald Carey (Alice and Tom) received the Editor’s Award for their outstanding contribution to the medium.

In prime-time, KNOTS LANDING continued its winning streak, losing just one award, Outstanding Supporting Actor, which went to Ken Kercheval (Cliff, DALLAS)…Daytime
