Michael Easton was born in Long Beach, CA, and raised in both the United States and Ireland, his parents' native country. After writing poetry inspired by such authors as Charles Bukowski and Raymond Carver during high school, Easton went on to college with a double major in English and History. Before graduating, Easton took a break so he could travel throughout Europe. While abroad, he compiled all his writings for the book he titled Drift.

When he returned to the States, Easton completed his education at UCLA. There he studied writing and directing. He soon took up acting and was cast in Coldfire in 1990. He went on to appear in the films The Art of Dying and The Killing Zone.

Easton began his soap career in the role of Tanner Scofield on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, which he played from 1991-92. Soon after making People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People list in 1992, he quit acting to care for his mother. However, he returned to the screen in 1994. His television credits include VR5, the Judith Krantz miniseries DAZZLE and a guest-starring role on DIAGNOSIS MURDER. He also wrote, produced and edited the award-winning independent film Daedalus is Dead, which was sold to the Sundance channel in 2000. The following years brought continued success in film both in front of and behind the camera before he made his return to daytime television in the role of twins Caleb and Michael Morley on PORT CHARLES in 2001. He stayed with the show until its cancellation in October 2003.

Easton currently plays Llanview police detective John McBain, the character he originated in 2003. He has also just signed on to write the first installment of The Green Woman, a graphic-novel series, for DC/Vertigo with famed novelist Peter Straub.
