Hillary B. Smith (Nora, OLTL)
Smith caught the acting bug at age 5, but she got her "big break" while attending Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY, where a school production of Song Night in the City made it to off-Broadway. After several theater roles and prime-time TV gigs like NO SOAP, RADIO with Steve Guttenberg, Smith entered the daytime world.

Behind the Scenes at OLTL's "Go Red" Ball
There's a basic mathematical equation when it comes to taping daytime scenes: The more actors are involved, the longer it takes. So when I learned that over 30 ONE LIFE TO LIVE contract players would be participating in the "Go Red" Ball (which begins airing the week of Feb. 11), I knew they were in for a long night — or several of them. I visited the set on Jan. 11 to see the ball first-hand and get the scoop on the fabulous gowns.

One Fire To Live (Through)
I recently paid a visit to ONE LIFE TO LIVE (a very fun part of my job; don't be jealous). But this time I wasn't allowed on the soundstage because they were taping the scenes in which Nora's house burned down. I was sitting in the lobby when I noticed there was a fire truck/ambulance outside the door.

Everything You've Ever Wanted To Know About Hillary B. Smith...
The next time I lose my voice and can't conduct an interview, I will definitely call on OLTL's Kassie DePaiva (Blair). For a special actors-interview-actors feature appearing in the 10/14 issue of Digest, she was brave enough to ask co-star Hillary B. Smith about her fascinating career outside of her long-running role as Nora. Here's a preview of what she got Smith to dish.
